Greetings to all IMBBians!!!
Wet n Wild has launched a new range of products under the tag line “Photo Focus” and the product line includes a lash primer, eye shadow primer and a setting spray. In this post, I have reviewed the lash primer which I bought two weeks ago from my local Walmart. Continue reading to know more about this.
This lash-building primer instantly creates a perfect base for your favorite mascara—perfect for building your gorgeous lashes. A special blend of waxes adds volume and length to your lashes, while conditioning and nourishing ingredients of Vitamins A and E and D-Panthenol to help strengthen.
My Take on Wet n Wild Photo Focus Lash Primer:
This mascara is white in color and creates a faint film of white on lashes, just like the L’Oreal mascara and primer duo (Volume million lashes mascara). It claims to create volume and length, but I don’t agree so well with these claims.
Packaging: A cylindrical tube with a black cap to hold the wand. The tube is generous in length and girth; good amount of product for the money paid. The brush is neither too big nor too small, just the right size. There is nothing unique about the brush bristles and it’s just like the usual drugstore mascara wands.
The wand does not pick up excessive product and does not collect any goop at the end of the bristles, so there’s no need to wipe it against the tube’s opening to remove the extra product. I have seen that it gives a better result when the wand is placed at the beginning of the lid and rotated upwards rather than just plain sweeping motion.
Texture: It’s not very liquid-y or wet, but is rather dry; however, it does not create clumpy lashes and hence has perfect consistency.
Pigmentation: One coat creates a thin film of white on lashes and that makes the black of the mascara stand out a little better, but I didn’t notice any dramatic change in lash volume or length, hence this primer is not that essential in eye makeup routine and can be skipped.
Wear Time: I am not sure how well it improved the wear time of a regular mascara or prevented the fall out because I don’t use low-performing mascaras to begin with, but it might enhance the performance of a mascara which tends to crumble and fall out.
Pros of Wet n Wild Photo Focus Lash Primer:
- Travel-friendly packaging.
- Creates a white film on lashes and makes mascara appear darker.
- Might improve the wear time of a mascara that crumbles after a few hours.
- Dries easily.
- Can act as an extra layer to add more volume to the lashes.
- Easy on pocket.
- Easily available in drugstore.
Cons of Wet n Wild Photo Focus Lash Primer:
- I did not notice any dramatic improvement in the performances of the mascaras that I use every day neither did it give any extraordinary volume to the lashes, hence it is not a “must-have” beauty product.
- It claims to strengthen the lashes because of the presence of Vitamin E and A; however, I am not sure how true those claims are because I haven’t seen any.
Would I Repurchase Wet n Wild Photo Focus Lash Primer?
No, I would not repurchase it because I repeatedly buy only makeup “must haves,”otherwise, I just like to experiment with new launches and products that I have never tried before. I recommend it to only those who like to dabble with different types of makeup products and would not mind spending money on this product which is less than $5.
