Wet n Wild Ultimate Minerals Powder Foundation Review
Hello Ladies,
I have been hoarding on foundations lately, cream, powder, liquid, name it and I have bought it. 😛 Wet n Wild Ultimate Minerals Powder Foundation is my first product from Wet n Wild cosmetics. I had been to the Outlet Mall and came back with a bag full of cosmetics, I had no luck with Wet n Wild palettes and eyeshadows but I managed to get a lipstick and a mineral foundation and some Nivea liquid foundations. Anyhow here’s my review on Wet n Wild Ultimate Minerals Powder Foundation in 05 Light.
Product Claims:
Light, mineral-based formula evens skin tone and provides natural-looking, flawless coverage. Stackable component allows for a customized system. Talc-free.
Shades Available:
The Wet n Wild Ultimate Minerals Powder Foundation comes in 5 shades. I bought the shade 05 Light.
Price, Quantity and Availability:
I bought the Wet n Wild Ultimate Minerals Powder Foundation for 15AED. Since everyone knows Wet n Wild cosmetics have a huge availability issues, I bought mine from Outlet Mall, Dubai. Outlet Mall has Wet n Wild Cosmetics but they do not retail all of them, just very few of the products. Like when I visited Outlet Mall last time they just had blushes, some shades of lipsticks and these mineral foundations. I wanted to get the “FAMOUS” eyeshadow palettes but in vain.
Packaging:
Wet n Wild Ultimate Minerals Powder Foundation comes in a stout plastic tub with a screw up lid and a tiny sponge. Not a fan of the packaging! Seriously.
My thoughts on the Wet n Wild Ultimate Minerals Powder Foundation in 05 Light:
I am not a fan of mineral makeup, I mean I do like it but not always. 😛 It is ok once in a while. Especially during these rough winters I have fallen for Mineral Makeup like never before. 😛 It’s kind of easily to sap up some moisturizer and then dust on some powder foundation and I am done for the day. I like how light and breathable the skin feels after using mineral makeup. I know people use dewy and liquidy stuff more in winters, so do I but some products tempt you to change your own routines and rules sometimes. 😛 Such is the case with Wet n Wild Ultimate Minerals Powder Foundation too. Read on to find out how the product works for me.
Texture and Swatches:
The texture is granular not that fine, and the powder blends into the skin seamlessly.
What I like about the Wet n Wild Ultimate Minerals Powder Foundation :
• Price and Quantity. You get a nice quantity of the product for a nice cheap price.
• The shade 05 Light is an exact match for skin tones between the light to medium skintones since it has the right amount of color pigments. I feel it has mixed undertones, neither yellow nor pink. Is this possible? May be.
• The powder blends into the skin flawlessly. Gives a natural finish.Gives a matte finish. It works great for my combination ( read: dry in winters) skin and also does a decent job on my Mum’s super oily skin.
• The staying power of the Wet n Wild Ultimate Minerals Powder Foundation is pretty good, it stays on for like 6-7 hours with a couple of compact powder touch ups.
• The coverage provided by Wet n Wild Ultimate Minerals Powder Foundation is gorgeous, as in I usually skip the concealer under this one. It’s a simple makeup routine for me with this, moisturizer, and then this and then a compact if needed.
• The foundation doesn’t transfer on tissues and blotting papers.
• It didn’t break me out.
• Even if I skip my moisturizer and pat this on I don’t really have flaky skin or dry patches on the skin.
What I do not like about Wet n Wild Ultimate Minerals Powder Foundation :
• I hate the packaging seriously. The tub is very stout and cannot be carried in the handbag. Too bulky.
• The sponge which comes with Wet n Wild Ultimate Minerals Powder Foundation is useless, I hate it. I use a brush to apply it.
• The powder has a very vague fragrance, like some chemical in the chemistry lab. 😛 Again a turn off. I would have ignored this if the scent was a bit calming. Also the availability is the biggest CON in Dubai.
Final Verdict:
I won’t go ahead and buy it again “if at all” I find it. 😛 One tub is more than enough for me. Although it does a decent job I don’t see myself buying it again. I wish it had a nice fragrance to it, seriously.
