Wet n Wild Silk Finish Lipstick – Dark Wine Review

Wet n Wild Silk Finish Lipstick – Dark Wine Review

Hello Gals,

I am back with another lipstick review, okay this time, it isn’t an orange color (although I have to yet review one more orange lipstick ) 😛 😛

Wet n Wild Silk Finish Lipstick Dark Wine Review

Product Description:

Enriched with conditioning ingredients of Vitamins A and E and Aloe Vera for moist-looking lips.

Price and Quantity:

$1 (I guess ) for 3.6 gms.

Packaging:

Dark Wine 2

The lipstick comes in a mix of matte gray and steel finish with a transparent plastic cap.  The lipstick doesn’t go completely inside the case and can be seen through the plastic. Now, although it is good that it makes it easier for you to pick the color, you have to be careful while putting the cap back on the case or you may accidentally damage the lipstick (happened with me a few times).

Ingredients:

Although the entire list of ingredients isn’t mentioned on the lipstick or website, the product description says that it has Vitamins A and E and Aloe Vera.

My Take on Wet n Wild Silk Finish Lipstick – Dark Wine:

Color:

Dark Wine 1

This color could be described as one which fits between dark berry to light grapevine. It isn’t a subtle color. It is a beautiful fall color.  The color is intensely pigmented and goes completely opaque in just one swipe.  This color looks at its best when you dress up yourself.  When you opt for some power dressing, this would simply add on to your dressing strength.

It does make my teeth look a little yellow under tube light, but works just fine during daylight or dark (late evenings).

Texture:

The lipstick is soft and creamy and glides on really well.  The finish is not extemely shiny or glossy, but it does have that silky finish and a little sheen.  It didn’t settle in fine lines of my lips even though my lips were a little dry, but later, it did dry out my already dry lips (I didn’t use a lip balm underneath).  However, on fairly hydrated lip, it works really well and is non drying.

Staying Power:

It stays on my lips for about 4 hours + ( no meals in between) with minimal and even fading.  It does transfer on cups, but almost all lipsticks do, so that’s really okay 🙂  It won’t completely survive meals but fades evenly and leaves a nice plum tint on the lips.  Just to test, I put the lipstick in the night and slept and when I woke up, there was a nice plum tint and the lipstick had faded off evenly.

Pros of Wet n Wild Silk Finish Lipstick – Dark Wine:

  • Inexpensive.
  • Intensely pigmented and opaque.
  • Great for pigmented lips.
  • Soft and creamy
  • Doesn’t settle into fine lines of the lips.
  • You can skip lip balm underneath this lipstick if you have fairly hydrated lips.
  • This color would suit all skin tones.

Cons of Wet n Wild Silk Finish Lipstick – Dark Wine:

  • It could be further drying for those who have dry lips.
  • This is one color which makes your teeth look a little yellow when seen under tube light; however, during daytime and in dark (late evenings), it looks just fine.

IMBB Rating:

4/5.

Will I Repurchase Wet n Wild Silk Finish Lipstick – Dark Wine?

I don’t think I am going to finish this ever.  Although, I love the color, I don’t see myself wearing this often as I am in the orange, peach, red, fuchsia, and hot pink phase right now 🙂

Do I Recommend Wet n Wild Silk Finish Lipstick – Dark Wine?

Yes, if you love dark plum to grapevine shades.
