Hello IMBB Team,

I am a silent reader of your blog from last year. Found it really helpful. What you guys are doing is really amazing.
Its first time I thought to actually ask your help directly. There’s a wedding occasion of my relative and I am planning to shop in Mumbai for that, but I am new to Mumbai city. So, please tell me where to find good clothing and jewelry for wedding occasions in Mumbai, latest collection with reasonable prices. I am going to Mumbai for a few days, staying in Thane. Nearby places will of great help. Thanks in advance 🙂

Regards
Mita

P.S. Pls mention or spell my name as Mita in your blog not as per my email id.

  1. hello mita!!
u can check out local shops at santacruz west market and andheri west market… if you are ready to spend on ethnic wear then do check out a shop called panihari in santacruz west market!! they have a really good collection!
    hope this helps! *smile*

  2. Hi Mita,

Is this your first visit to Mumbai?

I am not sure about places near Thane but u happen to come to south Mumbai you can check out the Bhuleshwar Market. You will get good ethnic stuff. Many shops to choose from. I really get confused as to which shop to check first :P.

  3. Hi Mita,

You have mentioned that you will be staying in Thane, the places mentioned in the above posts are far from Thane. So if you don’t mind to and fro travelling of more than an hour each in Mumbai trains, Santacruz(W) and Andheri(W) are good options. Colaba may be a bit costly, though it has good choices for ethnic jewellery pieces; however you may have to bargain a lot.

I would suggest you ask the people with whom you will be staying to tell about the local markets in & around Thane. There are some good malls there, if you are lucky you can catch monsoon sales happening in the showrooms and get some really good stuff at lower prices. Happy shopping…

  4. Ummm Mita you can visit natraj market, irla near alfa, santacruz and also many local stores in borivali as well one called the moksh plaza *happydance* *happydance* obviously you will have to travel a bit but i think its totally worth… *happy dance* *happy dance* and if you visit some local stores than there are many shops nearby those saree stores only who sell imitation jewelry and if you looking out for some funky jewelry then colaba will fetch u the best ones *hifive* *hifive* hope this was helpful to u *happy dance*

  5. Hey Mita,
Right now i am busy doing that only.. ;-). You can check gandhi market in sion for all the dress material and jewellery. If you want to check saree go to mangaldas market near churchgate, get plain saree.. buy saree border from bhuleswar and tada.. your designer piece is ready. Believe me you will get a pin to aeroplane everything in and around mangaldas market. If you want silk sarees go to dadar.

  6. For sarees dadars HINDMATA is great…u will get all good stores for sarees there…and lots of varieties…u stay in thane so i think borivali is like 1 hour from thane…in borivali u will get good salwar kameez that too at affordable price.

  7. I’l suggest u santacruz west fashi0nable n at d same tym afordable.. Chk mahavir der i lik der stiching work.. Even chk out aishwarya der..
