Yes To Carrots Nourishing Gentle Cleansing Wipes Review

Hello to all my beautiful friends,

We know that we should remove every bit of makeup before hitting the sack. But many a times, we are too tired to do that and need an easy way to remove makeup sans all our cleansing oils, cleansing water and other stuff. Makeup remover wipes come handy in such situations.  I generally use olive or almond oil to remove my makeup, but now-a-days, we generally have a night-out with our friends and with summers finally here, it has become a ritual. We usually go out to parks/lakes and after coming back, stay up the whole night at one of the friends’ places. Well, it is so much fun, but when I am back home in the morning, I am too tired to even go near my almond oil. 🙁

After my “Yes to Cucumber” wipes were over, I thought of trying out the “Carrot” line from the brand.
“Yes To” is a fab company, it’s completely cruelty free and even uses organic ingredients and in particular, the “Carrot” line from them focuses on nourishing your skin and hair. If you have dry hair or skin, (like me) and need a bit of moisture, the carrot section is for you, at least this is what the company claims.

My Experience with Yes To Carrots Nourishing Gentle Cleansing Wipes:

Let us start with the packaging. It comes in a white plastic pouch packing which has a plastic panel attached for taking out the wipes. It closes effectively and protects the wipes from turning dry.

The wipe is 7*8 inches which I find fine enough to clean the face. The wipe is pretty thick and so can be used from both sides while cleansing. The surface is smooth and not exfoliating in nature.

Coming to the fragrance-free claims, well, by fragrance free, the company says that it is unscented which it is (no such ingredients), but it does have a smell and it’s not a very pleasant one. It smells of some herbal stuff (not in a good way). A carrot fragrance would have been much better and to top it off, that fragrance does stay for some time on the skin. 🙁 I don’t mind fragrance in my products, but this is definitely not my cup of tea.

About the cleansing claims, it does remove your makeup, but it is good for light makeup or something like BB creams. For full face makeup, especially long staying and waterproof one, a single wipe is not sufficient. You will have to go over at least thrice to make sure that all the makeup is gone.

For the first few uses, the wipes felt fine. They did their job and I was quite satisfied, but after around 10-12 uses, whenever I use them, my face is unpleasantly tingly, kind of burns and I have to rush to wash my face. I thought I might have applied something which reacted, but this has happened thrice now. As soon as the wipes touch my face, it kind of burns so much that washing it off is the only solution. 🙁

I have not made any changes to my skin care routine, so I am sure it is these wipes. 🙁 And no, they haven’t expired. It’s not even 2 months that I bought this pack. Now, I use them to wipe clean my arms at the end of the day and luckily, I don’t feel the same burning sensation on my arms.

Thankfully, it didn’t break me out. Before this, yes, it was hydrating and sometimes I used to go to bed just after cleansing as it used to take care of the moisture that my dry skin needs.

It says on the pack, not to bring it in contact with the eyes, so I have never tried to remove my eye makeup with this. They are alcohol, SLS, petroleum and paraben free, but I really doubt their dermatologist-tested claim now.

• Doesn’t remove full makeup in one go.
• Short shelf life.
• Not for removing eye makeup.
