ysl blush volupte heart of light review, swatch

Claims :

What it is:
A radiant and luminous blush with two colors and textures in one.

What it does:
Yves Saint Blush Volupté is a blush and highlighter that provides contouring and achieves a vibrant glow. Featuring “color light prism” technology, this makeup offers balanced consistency between how the blush looks and the application result. The higher saturation of color pigments offers intense color payoff, and the extra thin particles give a natural and buildable look. The Mother of Pearl color offers intense, “light” radiance, while the emollients leave a perfect, silky finish.

What else you need to know:
This product is inspired by Yves Saint Laurent’s classic Mondrian dress.

My Experience with YSL Blush Volupte Heart of Light Passionnee (6) Powder Blush

If there is anything called blush perfection – this is it! 😀

Passionnee (6) is a beautiful warm pink with hints of coral blush. There is flecks of gold shimmer all around the blush but the centre hold the maximum concentration of golden flecks of shimmer. You can swirl the blush all over and use the blush. you don’t need to use a highlighter in that case. Or you can use the blush from the sides and still get that lovely glow without overdoing. The flecks of shimmer are barely visible when applied on the skin. They are subtle and only impart that most natural glow to the skin. The color reminds me a lot of NARS ‘O’ Blush. It is a universally flattering color and especially gorgeous for warm skin tones.

The blush comes packaged in a gorgeous gold casing. There is a lovely mirror on the inside. The ‘YSL’ logo is itched both on the case outside and the product. It’s sleek big packaging but is absolutely lightweight- makes it perfect for travelling. There is a useful soft brush that comes along with it. You can totally use it for touchups. A velvet pouch comes along with the case to keep the gorgeous gold packaging scratch free

It is a sheer to buildable blush. So you CANNOT go wrong with the application. The blush brush picks up the color just fine and you can totally go from the most natural looking glow to the intense pigmented color in no time. Depends on what you prefer. But if you are someone who like super pigmented blushes, this may not be your cup of tea.

The texture is super smooth. The blush is very finely milled and looks natural on the skin. The shimmer particles are super fine. They do not accentuate the pores or sit on the skin. They are barely there kinds. You can choose or not to choose to use the separate highlighter with this blush. The subtleness and the versatility of this blush makes it perfect partner for both day and night time.

It blends in seamlessly on the skin.

The staying power I’d say is around 5 hours before it tends to start fading. Not the most long staying blush but with the sleek packaging, you can totally carry it along for touchups.

This blush is available in 9 colors so there is something for everyone to choose from.

There is a mild rosy fragrance to the blush – barely bothersome.

Overall, pure LOVE! If you get a chance it pick it up, definitley do. You’d fall on love with it. 🙂

  1. This looks lovely Rati! Blush for so long has meant NARS for me that I didn’t look around at all. However, after trying Chanel, Givenchy, Becca – I realised there are others too. Will definitely check this line when I travel out next.

    1. for me it was MAC!:D I think I like these single blushes more now. They are easier to carry around and some of these are just brilliant and versatile.! 🙂 totally want to try becca soon! 🙂

  2. Your face looks super sunkissed.. amazing makeup done there 🙂 the highlighter and your technique did a brilliant job 🙂 you look gorgeous .. the blush is pure luxury 🙂
