On my recent shopping spree I decided to do a little self-indulgence and bought this beautiful YSL crème blush in the shade 8- Red Agate. Words cannot be enough to describe how amazing this product. Read on to find out more about this product but beware it may tempt you.

My Experience with YSL Crème Blush Shade 8 – Red Agate

YSL beauty is one of the most prestigious and highly raved about beauty brand right now in the market. Their products are very high quality and who can resist their luxurious packaging. This is my first buy from YSL and I must say I am highly impressed.

Having said that I am also a huge fan of blushes (they happen to be my 2nd favorite cosmetic item after Kohl) especially crème blushes as they fare very well with my dry skin whereas powder blushes tend to stick to my dry areas.

Packaging:

The product comes in a square glass-like tub which in fact is just sturdy plastic. Hence the tub is lightweight. It has a square mirror finish screw top cap which is very secure. The mirror lid can be used to do touch ups during the day which can come handy during emergency.

Shade:

I have the shade 8 also called Red Agate. It is a very beautiful Reddish pink color which when applied gives a very natural looking color to the cheeks. It does indeed impart a look that you are naturally blushing. I am a shade Mac NW23 and the color though it may look very dark in the tub has never given me “Clown” Cheeks.

Pigmentation:

The blush does apply sheer but the intensity can be built up with multiple layers. It does apply very evenly and does not go on patchy. It feels very lightweight on skin almost like a second skin. Since it is build-able it is very rare that you can go overboard in one go with this.

Finish:

The blush does not impart a dewy, shiny look but it does impart a very radiant “lit from within” kind of look which I love very much. It makes you look naturally healthy and pretty. It does not feel drying or too greasy on the skin at all.

Texture:

This blush is very soft and creamy. Softest texture I have come across yet. You can use your fingers to apply this very easily though I do prefer using my Elf small stipple brush with this. Once your start to apply and blend this on your cheeks the texture instantly turns from cream to powder which in no way feels chalky. It does feel very silky and smooth on the skin.

Staying Power:

It stayed looking fresh on me for about 6 hours after which the intensity does start to fade quickly. This isn’t the most impressive staying power but it is good enough for it being a crème blush and I definitely don’t mind reapplying this.

Fragrance:

This product has amazing scent. I smell slight sweet fruity almost like a high end perfume. Scent does not linger once applied. Overall. I just LOVE this product and am so glad I bought it. I will definitely recommend you to indulge in this item as you will not be disappointed.

• Gives very natural looking color to skin, you can hardly tell you are wearing makeup.

• Build-able intensity hence you cannot go overboard with this
• Does not go on patchy or uneven.
• Can be applied with fingers or a stippling brush, it gives flawless results either way
• Amazing scent, I could sniff it all day
• Staying power of almost 6 hours
