YSL Effet Faux Cils Shocking Bold Felt-Tip Eyeliner Pen Review

I have run into such a backlog of items yet to review, I can’t see the horizon anywhere. I am surrounded by stuff, begging to get reviewed; but then I get busy in my other work, besides giving these products a fair trial before getting reviewed. So yes, I will be now reviewing products at a fairly fast speed; simply because there are so many left.
Today, I will be reviewing an eyeliner from YSL, which I have been using the past few months. I will not call it simply a liner; for me this is a superliner. It is super-duper awesome.

About the Product: A water-resistant felt-tip eyeliner pen designed for precise application. Easyliner has been discontinued and is replaced by the new Effet Faux Cils Shocking Eyeliner.

Effet Faux Cils Felt-Tip Eyeliner draws a precise black line with ultimate intensity. Its calligraphy-like tip and water-based formula glides on smoothly without flaking for easy application and a carbon black pigment that delivers the blackest black color and 12 hours of wear.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:

• Synthetic Fragrances
• Petrochemicals
• Phthalates
• GMOs
• Triclosan
Shade: 01 BLACK

Carbon black pigment: Ensures an intense color payoff.
Water: Enables easy application with precise control of line’s thickness

My Experience with YSL Effet Faux Cils Shocking Bold Felt-Tip Eyeliner Pen:

Packaging: The product comes in a typical golden box packaging of YSL. The liner comes in a beautiful pen style packaging; with a stylo tip (felt tip). The pen is sleek black plastic body with Golden lettering on it. The shocking part in the name only differentiates it from the original Effet Cils Eyeliner; which has since been discontinued. The overall effect is a very light weight eyeliner pen with a glamorous look.

Tip: The pen is stylo tipped, quite long, which ends in a sharp pointed tip. The tip is quite flexible, yet not so bendy as to hamper the pigment delivery. It is supersaturated with pigment; and needs only one(ore at most two)swipes to achieve the perfect look. The stylo tip makes a thin or thick line with equal ease; and that is coming from someone with the most shaky hands while applying eye makeup. It is so easy to draw a perfect winged liner with this, I am simply amazed.

Pigment: The pigment is, in short…intensely black. It deposits so easily on the eyelids. The finish is satiny. It is not too shiny, nor too matte. It deposits equally on the eyelids during application, without any unpigmented or patchy areas at all. It dries out within 5-10 seconds. It never looks wrinkly, or dull on the lids. It never bleeds, even on my well prepared creamy eyelids.

Lasting time: Well, the last time I checked; was after a marathon day at work, after more than 10 hours of application. Well, truth be told, I had applied this eyeliner that morning simply to test it out. And it really came out tops. On my upper eyelid, it looked just as freshly applied. On my lower lashline, (yes, I did apply it on my lash line and it did not sting at all), it had not washed out; it was only starting to fade and become gray. I know I must have rubbed my eyes during the day (sorry; I know that’s a bad habit!!!); but the eyeliner had not smudged at all. It is indeed smudge-proof and water-proof as well. It did not give me any racoon eyes; and came off quite easily using an eye makeup remover.
