How are you doing? Its been a long time since I wrote any review.  I am back again with a review on YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick in the shade “Rose In Tension.”

My Experience with YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick – Rose in Tension:

This is my first YSL lipstick.  I just bought for the heck of trying it. Out of all the colors they had in this range, I picked this one.  I would describe the shade as a deep rose shade.  This is definitely not an everyday shade for me. I wanted something to wear on special days and on special occasions, so I opted for this.

Comes in the classy golden packaging with the actual (almost) shade showing up in the middle. For sure, anyone would love to use a lipstick with such a packaging in public 🙂

The texture is very smooth and creamy. It glides on so easily and there is no need to prep the lips before application, unless you have really chapped and dry lips. It is quite build-able and gives medium to full coverage. Just one swipe would give enough color and using more would build the intensity and shine. It looks pretty shiny on the lips. I don’t see a need to top it up with a gloss.

The shine stays until we eat or drink anything and also, the color fades a little bit after a meal, but it doesn’t go off completely. It leaves a pretty stain on the lips. Once the shine goes off, its no more moisturizing. Either we have to reapply it or go for a lip balm if more moisture is needed.

It has a fruity fragrance, kind of melon to be precise, and its not faint.  I am not very sensitive to smell,  but this does stay on for a while. I wish the fragrance was a bit more on the milder side.

Pros of YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick – Rose in Tension:

• A very pretty deep rose shade.
• Very creamy and glides on the lips like butter.
• Leaves a pretty stain after the color fades.
• Golden classy packaging.

Cons of YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick – Rose in Tension:

• Not a big fan of the smell.
• Does not seal moisture for 8 hours as they claim.
• For the price, the full color should have stayed for more time.

Final Word:

It is definitely a pretty shade to own, if you can stand the strong fragrance.
