YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-in-Stick #50 Fuschia Stiletto Review

I have been a huge fan of YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipsticks. It’s the only sheer formula that I used to love. Recently, they came out with a newer version of the Rouge Volupte Shine range. I was kind of confused at first as to what was the difference between the original Rouge Volupte Shine and Rouge Volupte Shine Oil-in-Stick. I was also wondering if there’s any difference in the formula or have they just added new shades into the range. After doing my research, I found out that Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-in-Stick is just a new name for the Rouge Volupte Shine range. But still, the colours that they’ve added to the range are beautiful, hence I had to pick up a few shades. The shade that I will be reviewing today is called #50 Fuschia Stiletto.

Price: $37
Product Description:
A revolutionary lipstick that provides luscious color and luminous shine while actually conditioning lips.
What it does: Made with 60% oils, the deeply hydrating texture instantly melts into lips providing a pop of color, instant hydration, and all day comfort. After 4 weeks, lips look healthy and more nourished. 6 oils for 6 benefits: hydration, high shine, comfort, ultra-melting, luminosity, and smoothness. With the addicting signature YSL mango scent, these lipsticks are good enough to eat. Now in 12 brand new shades, from modern neutrals, playful pinks and intense berries, there is a Rouge Volupte Shine for every moment.
What else you need to know: Antioxidants in natural extracts of pomegranate and rosemary reduce the look of fine lines, while candellila resin forms a thin, protective layer to help lock in moisture and magnify color and shine. Mineral pigments provide bright, vibrant color and a melting formula (instead of a solid stick) enabling smoother glide-on application and an ultrafine lightweight film on lips. Hyaluronic acid spheres hydrate and soften lips to help seal in moisture for up to eight hours of hydration.

My Experience with YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-in-Stick #50 Fuschia Stiletto:

The packaging is same as that of the Rouge Volupte Shine range. The lip color comes housed in a beautiful golden tube with the YSL logo band wrapped on the centre of the tube with a colour coordinating strip underneath. The packaging has a weight to it which makes it look and feel very luxe. The shade number is mentioned at the bottom of the tube.

Not only the packaging is beautiful but the formulation is equally stunning. The shade #50 is a blue based hot pink shade which leans on a bit cooler tone. I think this shade will look flattering on fair to medium skin tones. The texture of the YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-in-Stick is smooth and has a slip to it. It glides on effortlessly, delivering a sheer to medium coverage on the lips.

It’s quite buildable; one swipe will give a slight wash of colour and 3-4 swipes will deliver medium coverage. On me, these do not feather but some people with mature lips might notice some feathering. All the YSL lip products, including this one, have a fruity scent which is quite troublesome for some people. But personally, I love the scent of YSL lipsticks. Because of the shine, this lip color mimics plump and fuller lips. It does not settle into the fine lines of my lips, which is a major plus for me. It does transfer if you eat or drink, though.

YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-in-Stick does fade evenly, leaving behind a beautiful stain. It feels very comfortable and lightweight on the lips. Even after the lip color is completely worn off, the lips feel hydrated. The only drawback is the shape of the bullet. The bullet has no point to it which makes precise application difficult. It has the same staying power as the Rouge Volupte Shine. I get 4-5 hours of wear time.
