Today’s review is about Yves Rocher Bourbon Vanilla Body Lotion. I have seen reviews of Yves Rocher recently on IMBB and was tempted to try out their products. I did a major haul of the same. 😀 Get ready to see many reviews of Yves Rocher products on IMBB. The first product I chose to try and review is the Yves Rocher Bourbon Vanilla Body Lotion just because it smells amazing. The body lotion has a major component from plant extracts thus it a botanical product. Please note that it is still not organic. I was under the impression that Yves Rocher is an organic brand, but I was wrong. Apparently, they also test on animals.

My Experience with Yves Rocher Bourbon Vanilla Body Lotion:
The body lotion comes in a small round plastic container with a flap lid. The packaging is very sturdy. The flap lid sometimes takes a little time to open as it’s a little tight. It can easily damage the nails. But it’s travel safe since there is no chance that the flap would open up automatically . The bottle is also transparent, making it easy to know the amount of the product left.
The consistency of the product is creamy. It is cream in color. I use twice the walnut size for my entire body. The lotion spreads very easily on the skin. The skin feels satiny during application. The product leaves the skin extremely soft and silky. The fragrance is the best. I love vanilla smell. I feel it smells like vanilla ice cream; my kids also said the same and the fragrance made them long for ice cream! The fragrance lasts for a day. I could not believe it. Yes, the fragrance is pretty strong and it also lasts long. I love using it during sweaty summer months. The lotion does not feel oily or sticky during application or after application.
Overall, it’s a very nice product. I still have to test it during the colder months. I was just going through the ingredients list and couldn’t help notice the last 2 ingredients. It’s the yellow and red color. I know that the colors are not good even in edible products and would not prefer them in a lotion. I believe the lotion will get absorbed into the skin and then they are in my body. I just do not understand the need of adding colors to the lotion. It does not add any value except aesthetics (which I care the least).
Pros of Yves Rocher Bourbon Vanilla Body Lotion:
⦁ Small, handy packaging
⦁ Gets easily absorbed by the skin
⦁ Non-sticky and non-oily
⦁ Strong fragrance
⦁ Lovely bourbon vanilla fragrance

Cons of Yves Rocher Bourbon Vanilla Body Lotion:
⦁ Opening the flap lid can get little hard and damage nails
⦁ Tartrazine (Yellow color ingredient) can cause allergy and intolerance reactions
⦁ C.I. 14700 (Red 4 ingredient) is banned in the US for food products (but can be used externally)
IMBB Rating: 4/5
