Today’s review is about Yves Rocher Nourishing Lip Balm – Vanilla. I have previously reviewed the vanilla body wash and body lotion, and I am totally loving those two products. Since those products smell so good of vanilla, I decided to pick up the vanilla lip balm too. Let’s see how this one worked for me.

My Experience with Yves Rocher Nourishing Lip Balm Vanilla:
The packaging is very similar to most of the lip balms. It comes in a twist-up tube which opens and closes easily. While closing, it doesn’t make any click sound to indicate that it has been closed securely. So I tend to check over and again to see if I have really closed it right. But I guess I will get used to it. The cap fits well and there is no chance of it getting opened accidentally. The lip balm is ivory in color and is creamy.
The lip balms smells like vanilla a little, but the fragrance is not what I was expecting. Going by other vanilla products by Yves Rocher, I picked this one up. But, believe me, it is nowhere close to the other products. It smells a little like vanilla when you first apply it but within seconds you get a weird unpleasant feeling. I could feel the flavor in my mouth and didn’t like it. I love everything related to vanilla and I feel it’s like a neutral fragrance. Everybody likes it, after all. But the fragrance of this product is totally messed up.
Now, coming to the consistency; when I swatched it, it looked fine. But, when I applied it on my lips, it felt very greasy and slippery. Needless to say, it bled into my mouth and out of my lips too. In my opinion, the balm melts and gets greasy due to the body temperature and that’s why it bleeds. I would definitely not use it when outdoors. I am not sure about indoors or during nighttime either. It reaches into the mouth and tastes weird – I do not want to wake up to something like that.
I have decided to not use this lip balm anymore. In my opinion, the results were not even close to a drugstore product. I cannot comment on how soft it made my lips feel or how it healed my lips for I could not keep this one on for more than 30 minutes.
