Mascara is one makeup essential that every woman must have in her bag for fixing tired eyes. I usually don’t buy costly mascaras as they have to be tossed out after 3 months, but recently, I invested in one from Yves Rocher as I wanted to try if there was any difference between an expensive and a budget one.

My Experience with Yves Rocher Volume Vertige Lash Curler Effect Mascara:
This mascara comes in a sealed package. The package is silver and the screw cap with the wand is like a silver hologram like. The cap closes tightly and this makes it easy to travel with and it doesn’t dry out the mascara. The length of the wand is perfect and it helps with easy application. The brush of the wand is pretty different than the normal ones I have seen till now. It is called a reservoir brush and something new! The brush is made in a way that it evenly applies the mascara, separate the lashes and build volume.
The mascara is pitch black in color and is deeply pigmented. It is waterproof and doesn’t cause any raccoon eyes. One of the plus about the mascara is that it doesn’t peel off while removing and you do not have chunks all over your face. The mascara is very easy to remove. The mascara also contains a “fixing botanical extract” that claims to make the lashes look sensational. The brush makes it easier to apply near the corners of the eyes too without creating a residue of the product.
The mascara easily builds volume with just one swipe. With 3-4 swipes, there is a lot of volume and you can create dramatic effect with it. I usually use 1 or 2 swipes as it makes my lashes look more natural and full. The mascara adds a light curl to the lashes. Even though it doesn’t create a curve like the curler, this curl is suitable for daily wear. The mascara holds the effect on lashes for good 6-8 hours. The product doesn’t flake or smudge for long. I have noticed that if you rub your eyes very often, you can expect the mascara to start falling apart.
The brush picks up the right amount of mascara from the tube, I haven’t had any issues with feeling excess on the wand. The mascara doesn’t create any clump on the lashes and it hardly feels heavy on the lashes too and I absolutely love this lightweight formula.
The product does add length, but not dramatic length like most other mascaras out there in the market. Considering it doesn’t claim to add length, I do not have any issues regarding this. I do not have any negative to say about this mascara except that it is pricey. The mascara is really different from the easily affordable ones that I usually buy. The quality of this mascara is superior and I did not experience any irritation and it’s suitable for sensitive skin too. However, I felt when it comes to the results, all these mascaras are similar, but I am happy that I gave this a try. I would try to invest in expensive mascaras once in a while.
