What do you recall when you think of your teenage years? I remember being a tomboy during my early teen years who would play with boys and beat them up too, if need be! Then, came the mid-teens when I couldn’t be so garrulous and brash anymore. And then, the changes started happening. Slowly Mills and Boon became more interesting than Tinkle and Archie. Hindi song cassettes were replaced by Britney and Boy band’s CDs & MP3s. Some of us teens moved on to Linkin Park and RHCP and adopted anything black as a solace for the soul. And then, some moved on to be sweet angels, dressed in pink and white. If you were to associate a fragrance with those PYTs, then this is the bottle to go for!

Designed with trendsetting women in mind, the scent offered Italian mandarin, pear and black currant top notes for sweetness. Its delicate floral heart was composed of cherry blossom magnolia and peach. Amber, Musk and Cedar base notes paired well the fruity and flowery notes, letting you enjoy the resulting vibrant fragrance.

My Experience with Yves Saint Laurent Young Sexy Lovely Eau De Toilette Spray:

I hope my introduction and the above description would have helped you conjure what kind of personality should wear this fragrance. Though, it is called Young Sexy Lovely, it is more of Young and Lovely than sexy. Actually, it fits better under Young and Pretty. ‘Mean Girls’ taught me that lovely was hardly a word you require to be famous in high school. 😉 The fragrance is fresh with a modest and barely there kind of effect. It can be associated with something clean and refined! Imagine going for a weekend noon outing in your lovely soft, floral dress – this is going to be the perfect fragrance for that kind of setting. It should be worn preferably during the daytime as it is soft and mild. However, I feel it would do equally well on an evening date, but for teenagers.

The bottle is of a slight pinkish hue and the colour of the product adds a bit more to it. It has a short, slim design that is convenient to hold in hand. The glass bottle has a heart shaped formed on its surface with only YSL clearly written on it. Nothing more – nothing less! If I were to associate a colour with the fragrance, I will go exactly with the bottle’s color – light peachy pink.

Coming to the performance, well, there are some shortcomings here. It isn’t long lasting. Maybe 2-3 hours maximum. Now, this is not expected from a YSL, at least! The sillage is very low. I think the person has to be in your immediate next seat to know you are wearing a fragrance. But then, this also becomes an advantage since it signifies you aren’t trying to be over the top. No one should flaunt a heavy or strong fragrance all the time. However, if you want YSL to be more noticeable, simply spray more.

YSL is very convenient to be worn to your classrooms or workplace. It can also be considered as a suitable option when you don’t know which fragrance to wear on a certain day. YSL is definitely not a mediocre fragrance, but it doesn’t have Chanel’s quality either.

Recommended for young girls who are anywhere between their mid-teens to early twenties. But, wear it if you want to because as they say, “Dil hona chahiye Jawaan!” I have outgrown that age and I have already had my share of one bottle, so not planning to repurchase.
