Zoya Nail Polish – Tracie Review
Today, I am reviewing a nail polish from Zoya – Tracie. Zoya Nail Polish in Tracie can be best described as a faded, yellow-toned pistachio green with delicate silvery shimmer for a frosted pearl finish; great for a fresh looking twist on vintage avocado green.
Family – Green
Finish – Frost
Intensity – 5 ( 1 = Sheer – 5 = Opaque )
Tone – Warm
My Take on Zoya Nail Polish – Tracie:
Zoya is one brand that is toxin free and treatment formula does not contain any formaldehyde, toluene, dibutyl phthalate or camphor. It doesn’t have chemical smell like most of the nail polishes do.
All the Zoya nail polishes have a standard packaging. It’s a see through bottle that has a small rounded brush. The brush is quite small and does not cover the whole nail in 3 swipes.
Tracie is a pastel pistachio green with subtle yellow undertones and metallic shimmer. Personally, I wouldn’t love this color but I wanted to give it a try, as pastels are the most sought after colors in summers.
Since this shade is shimmery, it has brush strokes and takes at-least 3-4 coats to give a smooth even finish on the nails. It stays on the fingers for a good 4-5 days without any top coat or base coat and dries pretty quick.
For some reason, I don’t like this color against my skin tone as it looks very dull and frosted. I would have liked it if it was a pure pastel rather than a shimmery shade. These kind of shades make the brown/tanned skin look very dark and washed out.
Though I did not like the color, the application is very smooth and soft. I have absolutely no complaints about the brand as these are one of the high quality nail polishes and can be compared to any other high-end competitor in the market. This brand carries various other beautiful shades apt for any skin tone.
Also as stated before, these nail polishes do not contain any harmful chemicals, so it is safe to use during anytime and doesn’t give any pungent smell.
Pros of Zoya Nail Polish – Tracie:
- Free from harmful chemicals.
- Pretty shade for summers.
- Looks beautiful on lighter skin tones.
- Dries quickly.
- Stays on for 4-5 days without much chipping.
- This shade has shimmer/frosty finish, suitable for people who like frosty finish in their nail polishes.
Cons of Zoya Nail Polish – Tracie:
- This particular shade has a frosty finish.
- It gives streaky finish and requires 3-4 coats to give an even finish on the nails.
- Makes brown/tan skin look very dark.
- Not a suitable shade for all skin tones.
Overall, I loved the consistency and application of this nail polish. My main issue is with the color and the finish. I loved the brand Zoya as it is very health friendly and doesn’t have any chemicals. There are various other pretty colors and I’m sure they are far better than the shade Tracie. I’ll definitely pick other non-shimmery colors from this brand that are more suitable to our brown skin tone.
