Yes I agree that serum is very important in our skincare routine…though it should be used according to individual needs n skin type…but serum is something that works fast n directly..it gives much better effect than a normal cream.. I do vote for using serum whenever its required..

Mitali January 18, 2013 at 1:01 am

YESS..Serum is essential for our skin care routine.Among several reasons the most important i feel that it has that deep-reach nourishment factor for which the CTM routine lacks. Its like the “missing link” for the perfect skin. And not to forget its multipurpose properties encapsulating all essential needs/ingredients to make us glow..

Abeer January 18, 2013 at 1:02 am

Coming to the Answer-

Including Serum in skin care routine is Important
as it really make BIG improvement.
Its effects are more potent than regular creams.

Only a serum can penetrate the many layers of the skin.A serum with its tiny molecules can add moisture and other ingredients much deeper into the skin.
Thats it !
:)

kanika January 18, 2013 at 1:09 am

Liked the page too.

Rashmita January 18, 2013 at 1:05 am

Yay! Cute giveaway…although fighting my luck hard in terms of giveaway but participating is always fun!
Yes including serum is must in skincare as it helps in gaining healthy glowing skin due to its unique propeties. Am sure that’s what we all ladies aim at irrespective of age and style.

Rashmita January 18, 2013 at 1:09 am

Moderation? :-(

sush January 18, 2013 at 1:26 am

Using a serum is a highly effective way to maintain
prolong or bring back the youthful
glow. It adds nutrients into deeper
layers of the skin that a regular
moisturizer is not able to reach. So a serum is very essential for our skin care routine !!

neetu aadya lohani January 18, 2013 at 1:29 am

Nishu January 18, 2013 at 1:33 am

Thank You Clahrans for treating us.. so here’s my 5 cents.. trying my luck ;)
Yes! Serum is important because it is full of potent nutrients which reach skin deep and give you a youthful glow :) mainly bacuse the concentartion of nutrients is more than we what we find in normal creams.

priya January 18, 2013 at 1:41 am

Firstly thanx for the giveaway to IMBB as well as Clarins. As I gather serum is important, sometimes as a precautionary measure to avoid the signs of ageing and impact of surroundings, profession and pollution on our skin but mostly people start using it as a cure. Due to it’s concentrated form and quick absorption it’s effects are visible in a relatively short span as compared to other skincare n repair products.
I personally believe in precaution rather than cure so if you feel your surroundings etc are having a negative impact on your skin then do select a serum as per your requirement.
It’s a myth that serums are for aging skin only, serums are also useful for skin discoloration, pigmentation, reducing the pore size etc, these are problems faced by people of all ages.
Also if you have a notion that once you use a serum you have to continue using it at all times is again false, a serum can be used occasionally as per the requirement, just like in winters you use a heavy winter care cream n in summers a sun screen with more spf. Understand your skin and take care of it, ciao!

Pallavi January 18, 2013 at 2:00 am

Serums have the ability to penetrate deeper into the skin. They’re much finer in texture than creams and are more readily accepted into the skin.
The problem areas of the skin such as a dark spots, acne and early aging signs are targeted in a better way because the serum just does not settle over the top of the skin like the creams do.
As serums are full of concentrates, noticeable results will be achieved quicker.

Kriti January 18, 2013 at 2:09 am

Gotta love Clarins!! <3
Now onto the importance of serums….:) I dont know why they always remind me of cocktails! :D
The main reason you'd want to use a facial serum is to get added nutrients into deeper layers of your skin that a regular moisturizer is not able to reach. Basically serums are repair products – they work on a deeper level. Using skin care serum is greatly overlooked in most women's facial regimes. It is seen to be unnecessary and expensive and above the usual cleanse, tone and moisturise routine, but it is a highly effective way to maintain, prolong or bring back the youthful glow we all want to have forever. :D

Nafisa Ali January 18, 2013 at 2:41 am

Oh sweet heavens! This is a super cute giveaway, so first & foremost thank you for making this happen! :)
Serum use & importance will surely defer from person to person naturally but for me specifically why it is important it because of the stress our skin goes through these days – the atmosphere, the lifestyle is impacting this current generation of makeup users like never before. The awareness that exists of makeup & skin care brands coupled with the ease of accessibility & affordability of working women has made so many of us willing to experiment with new products so regularly. Although it is fun & makes us wiser regarding what works for us & what not, surely it must & will have adverse effects on our skin in the long run if we don’t do anything to counteract them. We need something that works beyond a regular cream. The concentrated ingredients, deep penetration, targeted action & repair a serum can provide is in many cases a need today rather than a luxury.

Serums are the products which pack more efficiency in a small quantity. They are a boon for oily skinned beauties, with their lightness. I believe that after the age of 25, serums must be included in the skincare regime to keep the aging i check.

Parita January 18, 2013 at 7:22 am

Thanks for this opportunity..have always wanted to try clarins products
Serum’s have been a rage in market since last few years, they are extremely light in texture and have the ability to penetrate our skin better than creams. This also will result in better and faster results of improvement in our skin. Since they are quite concentrated in nature they will get absorbed faster and give quicker results to skin problems like dullness, bark sports, uneven skin tone, hyper pigmentation etc

aparajita January 18, 2013 at 7:52 am

thia is such a great opportunity to try out clarins products! thanks IMBB :) although am not an expert in this but the one thing which comes to my mind on hearing “serum” in skin treatment is “direct nourishment”. nutrients are much more concentrated in serums and their light texture makes them work way more faster than face creams. so things like spots, pigmentation, blemishes etc can be treated in a much faster way with serums. also, the result is lasting as it penetrates deep into our skin layers. and in this fast running world, we all need fast but lasting results, don’t we? :)

renji January 18, 2013 at 8:06 am

First of all thnx to IMBB and Clarins for this awesome giveaway!!
This is a wonderful opportunity to try Clarins Products…I feel that Serums can add that extra mositure which is extremely beneficial to skin and its more better than a regular drug store moisturiser….As I am in mid twenties I feel, Including a serum in daily routine is important to help fight the first signs of aging…Serums also start working faster than your regular moisturiser……
I really wish to try Clarin Double serum ever since Rati reviewed it…Hope to be lucky this time :)

Ramya Vijayakumar January 18, 2013 at 8:16 am

This is why I love IMBB! Thanks a ton for the opportunity! Every night when we sleep, our body goes through a healing and repair process, and that includes our skin as well, and as research suggests our skin is the most receptive from 12AM – 4AM, and nothing better than a good serum, which aids this repair process of our skin with concentrated goodness of skin friendly ingredients, to make one have a healthy and glowing skin. Serums are light weight, so it lets our skin breathe without clogging up the pores, and since they are concentrated, a little goes a long way! And I feel the best way to achieve healthy looking skin and get fast results would be to incorporate a good serum designed for your skin type in our daily skincare routine! :)

jomol January 18, 2013 at 8:22 am

geet January 18, 2013 at 8:45 am

yayyy…thankkss a lot for this simple giveaway…
here comes my entry :)
Yes a serum is definately important because..
A serum is a CONCENTRATED Formulation of energetic substances created to penetrate deep in to the skin and enhance the efficiency of lotions utilized later on. Its advanced texture lets it to get easily and quickly absorbed by means of the pores and skin. it might even be utilised being an occasional procedure to your skin to aid with imbalances (e.g. tiredness, anxiety, seasonal variations, and so forth.). BUT, use just well before your day and/or night product
The formulation is so concentrated that a couple of drops will probably be adequate.

ambica January 18, 2013 at 8:45 am

yes i love to use serums because
1.they have high concentrations of potent active ingredients
2.they are so light on skin
currently im using olay regenerist serum

Deepa January 18, 2013 at 8:56 am

Hello,

I am going to provide a very scientific reason:

Face serums are very important although till some years back this concept was unheard of and our mothers relied on moisturizers and cold creams. The whole idea behind a serum is that it is highly concentrated and has targeted action. It is meant to address specific skin and aging concerns.

Probably serums and sunscreens were not needed a couple of decades ago, however today with the environmental changes coupled with stress and pollution, we need to keep our skin texture in place. So serums and sunscreens need to form an integral part of our skin care regimen.

Serums are light in texture, so it is gets easily penetrated into the layers of the skin and thus have the ability to perfom miracles such as delay aging, reduce pore size, reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

Point to note here is they are expensive as compared to the other skin products because they are concentrated. However, very little quantity is needed for daily use, thus the bottle lasts u the same time as your other beauty products…

Thus i conclude my essay on Face Serum :) :)

I felt i was writing for a school exam… Hope I pass…LOL

Swati P January 18, 2013 at 9:00 am

Yes..defintely agree to the point that serums should be added in daily skin regime. This fact I gathered from reading IMBB reviews.. so I also went through many other informative sites and could gather the fact that serums are necessary to repair damage caused by everyday styling and the enviornment.

Skin serums moisturize, uplift the skin, are anti-inflammatory and soothing to the skin.Serums target the fine lines and visibly reduce them. serum’s small molecular structure which enables it to penetrate through three layers of the skin depositing skin nutrients and stimulating collagen production from the inside- out causing overall improvement in the skin tone, skin brightness and skin smoothness.
Inshort.. serums helps in

S – Smoothening
E – Effect
R – Reduces
U – un-even tone and
M – moisturizes
S – skin
:)

Veronica January 18, 2013 at 9:01 am

Serums are beauty products that help combat signs of ageing, dullness and fine lines on the face and neck. They are formulated with nutrients composed of smaller molecules which allows them to enter all the 3 layers of the skin..unlike regular creams and moisturisers which only provide moisture to the skin. Hence, serums work much faster and give effective results. Serums are also bebeficial in revitalizing skin and repairing tissues. I personally feel that including a serum in ur regular skin care routine will give you the desired results that you want, as they bond with the skin..and inturn become a part of the skin!!!

Don’t worry, here at IMBB the love is so overwhelming that people end up writing long comments which then require moderation. Jyotsna January 18, 2013 at 9:14 am

Including a Serum is definitely a must in the skin care routine because they just work on a deeper levels of skin unlike the regular moisturizer that usually works on the first few layers. They penetrate super fast into the skin thus working on the skin from first few uses itself. The serums can be chosen as per one’s individual requirements.

Thanks for the awesome Giveaway! :)

Nelia January 18, 2013 at 9:19 am

Wow! this is too good to be true. I have been an ardent reader of IMBB and have always relied on it for excellent reviews. This is my first comment on IMBB and i am so excited about it! :) i realllly love the giveaway and i am so hoping i win this one…
Coming to the answer – a serum gains far more importance in one’s skincare regimen as age progresses and the skin needs much more nutrients and suppleness that cannot be provided by our good old moisturizers and creams. Serums are much more potent than regular creams as they have a high concentration of active ingredients and are of a finer consistency than regular moisturizers/creams. This makes it easily absorbable by the skin and it works effectively on problem areas like spots, hyper pigmentation and dull skin.
That’s it :) and now the wait for the results begins…. :)

Lakshmipriya January 18, 2013 at 9:28 am

First of all, a big hug to you guys.. you are always the besttttt :D :*
IMBB is the only place where i love to be 24X7 and never felt tired or boring even for a nano second :P
Secondly, a very biggggggggggg thanks for this awesome giveaway!! :)
Lastly, my answer: Yes yes yes
Including a serum in your daily skin care helps a lot in improving your skin texture definitely. A serum helps in reducing fine lines, wrinkles, suppress and minimize acne and what not…. So i love to include it in my routine always :) :D

Mansi January 18, 2013 at 9:36 am

Hi Very nice giveaway!! and especially when it comes from Clarins..its droolworthy..
So I wont talk high funda on serum as you can get all the gyan from Google..My comment is based on my experience..i prefer serums over heavy creams..
1) They are feathery light on skin
2) Gives an instant hydration dose to the skin
3) Doesnt break me out
4) Gets absorbed fast and give a baby soft feel instantly (Which I love the most)
5) Plus some of them can be used as PRIMER (added advantage)
I think usage of serum is very scarce in indian market..but I guess it should not be included as the “quintessential” beauty mantra..What I feel is beauty products are very skin and choice specific ..I might love it but for others it wont be a neccessity..so all depends on how you feel after using the product and this giveaway is exactly doing the same thing..giving a chance to try a high end relatively new product and decide whether you want your daily dose of serum or not..
Thanks IMBB team ..

Meenakshi January 18, 2013 at 9:40 am

Thank you IMBB team for this wonderful giveaway.
Serum is important in skincare routine as it helps in improving the skin texture, minimizng the pores ,diminsh pigmentation and dark spots. It also helps in reducing fines and wrinkles. If we start using it early, it prevents all these problems and thus gives us a healthy skin.It also helps in repairing the damage caused due to enviromental aggressors. Most serums are light weight and get quickly absorbed in the skin and thus start acting very quickly. My derma suggested me to use serums for my skin care routine. He mentioned that it improves skin texture and the overall elasticity of the skin and I am glad I took his advice.

swati Srini January 18, 2013 at 9:43 am

I think using serums in one’s skincare routine is important because of the goodness that a serum offers, which is much more than a face cream would. A serum is more potent than a skin cream as it goes deeper into our skin’s layers and works its magic. And so one should make the serum a part of her Cleansing, toning ,moisturising routine . . .and put it on just before the moisturising as its thinner than , most moisturisers . .

So even though its a tad expensive, its worth it to use a serum thats right for your skin for all the benefits it offers. . . be it reversing ageing, restoring skin radiance, a serum could very well be your answer.

Thanks IMBB :) Hope to try these out :)

renny January 18, 2013 at 9:46 am

Hi!! firstly thanks for the info that its klahrans!! lolzz i have been mis-pronouncing it till now:(..Ok my answer now..Since I have oily skin, I always shy away from moisturizing.I hate applying creams on my face! but using a serum is totally different, it does not make my face greasy and serums have 70% of active ingredients compared to our regular face creams which have only 5–10%!!These products are able to deliver a much greater concentration of nutrients deeper into the skin without making it look like a frying pan!

Shruti January 18, 2013 at 9:48 am

Hi! Amazing giveaway!
Step 1: Just liked the Clarins Facebook page
Step 2: Here’s my answer

Yes of course! Serums do what creams and moisturizers can’t. They penetrate deep into the skin and are more likely to give visible results because they have extremely concentrated compositions. Plus its so easy to apply! Three-four drops of a face serum and you are done! :)

Knocking on the wood…hope i win…!!!!!
Liked the fb page..ahem..now the answer..

I agree that including a serum in our beauty regimen is a must as the liquid product is easily absorbed by the skin, the facial skin is replenished and rejuvenated in a jiffy!!yay!! Unlike any other beauty product like a cream or moisturizer which only layer up on the skin, a serum is soaked up by the facial skin and hence gives better results.

Regular use would prevent wrinkles and aging of skin. And we ladies don’t need another reason now..do we?? lol…

Thanks….(fingers crossed)

esha January 21, 2013 at 9:25 am

hey..just one thing.. comment here through my yahoo id and i have a facebook account through gmail…i’ve liked your fb page throgh gmail..hope it’s alright..

aparna January 18, 2013 at 9:51 am

I have a combination skin and tend to break out very easily. I am on the look out for products which don’t make my skin look smothered with oil. :P . After using serum I realised that it forms a layer that gets dried very soon thus preventing my skin from looking shiny. I had also read that serums have special ingredients to fight damage caused due to pollution, aging. Serums play a major role in reducing pores …and I have open pores. They aid in quick collagen production which forms good base for anti ageing. And serum is fragnace free which is an added bonus for me.

My skin care routine: I apply a think layer of sunscreen and moisturiser after cleansing and toning and follow it up with a serum. At night is it cleansing , toning, night repair cream and serum.

shalini January 18, 2013 at 9:53 am

yes , addding a serum in your daily skin care regimen is important . the serum works much faster than any cream or lotion and has more powerful ingredients as compared to the cream. the serum helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, check the pore sizes, even tone the skin texture making it bright and smooth with plumpy feeling. if you are not using any serum, think of using it now.

pragati January 18, 2013 at 10:00 am

Absolutely but exceptional in certain cases. a Serum goes deeper into the skin layers than a moisturizer.you skin feels like its fresh and washed. But people with smaller pores dont need it, as even a toner will do. And young tender skin does not need a serum. With age, pores start getting enlarged and stuff so it is very important to use a serum then :) Serums work like a moisturizer cum brightening gels…Theyre amazing!! :)

Pratiksha January 18, 2013 at 10:09 am

Well..I wish to win soooo…..desperately :D
Now the answer…possessing a sensitive as well as oily skin has always been such a trouble for me…. :( Moreover I HATE using regular creams due to their greasy texture but serums are just so different. They are certainly better because they provide essential nourishment to my skin because of it’s better absorption tendency and don’t make skin greasy at all. YIPEE!!

Shivani January 18, 2013 at 10:10 am

I hope i win *chewnails*
Well, my answer is: I do feel serums should be a part of beauty care routine. The CTM is now CTSM. Since a serum is made of small molecules, it is easier to get penetrated deep into the different layers of the skin hence showing a remarkable difference by repairig the tissues. Any age group females may use the same depending on their need ( acne/anti ageing/skin ligthening etc)

Rama January 18, 2013 at 10:10 am

Thanks For the giveaway.. 
I thought it is khla-rinz and thanks for the correcting the pronunciation.. 
I follow the CTM every night religiously, because the skin is free from pollution and relaxes during the time we sleep. Now I’m in my mid twenties and I have decided to take proper care of my skin and fight ageing. So I feel serum is one of the best products to nourish your skin and make it look younger and healthier. ‘Serum’ ,the word in general gives the feel, that it is somehow better than the regular creams and I have read that serums are rich in nutrients and highly concentrated, thus giving much better results than the creams we use generally.
And one last reason why I would include serum in my skin care routine is , I feel serums are non greasy and gets absorbed easily to your skin, delivering the best results.

Rama January 18, 2013 at 10:12 am

shalini January 18, 2013 at 10:12 am

hello,
thank you for giving me a chance to present my views here about serum.

yes, adding a serum in your daily skin care routine can make you even better. instead of using toner after cleansing, use of serum to your skin makes is softer, prevents wrinkles and fine lines . it also even tones the skin texture and nourishes the skin. your skin feels more soft and smoother than before.

thanks..

this is so good….I love to try klahrans so my is honest view on serum is..Yes serum is very essential step to get a beautiful skin.I recently started using it & every morning I can notice the difference pore minimisation, subtle glow & that lovely freshness is there…I love watching myself in mirror in the morning as soon as I wake up.

priyanka January 18, 2013 at 10:21 am

yes serum are absolutely essential in my skin care routine as I m now in my thirties and my skin needs that extra care and nourishment that serums provide. They being light yet concentrated, help my skin breathe and at the same time reaching deep within to work their magic.
So…waiting for my clarins magic potion….

Ekta Malik January 18, 2013 at 10:22 am

As per step1, liked the facebook page of clarins
Coming to the second step-Serums play a vital role in skincare. They get absorbed in the skin very quickly compared to the other products. In turn, benefits the skin. It is my personal opinion that they even don’t break out the skin.

mini January 18, 2013 at 10:23 am

Definitely ,yes. But we generally tend to overlook the importance of a serum in our skin care daily regime. As most of us might not know the exact importance or just think it to be unnecessary and expensive. But to our surprise ,serums are the most important skin saving products that are available in the market. They can just do wonders to our skin.Especially people with enlarged pores (like me :() should include a good serum into their daily skincare regime. It will not only help to reduce the size of the pores but also it will prevent the skin from early ageing , wrinkles etc.It gives the skin a subtle glow after a period of usage. After a certain age even people with normal skin/ smaller pores should also use serum for better nourishment of the skin. So, in my opinion, a serum is an absolute need and solution to each of us at certain point of time. :)

I feel serum is the lightest potion which can be either in a form of cream or gel is good for skin.. Oily and Combination people like me love to apply serum coz they are very light weight and easily get absorbed in the skin. Bt now in market they are lot of serums available for diff. types of skin. They are revolutionary product which helps to ease out many problems likes, acne, wrinkle, under eye dark circles, blemishes, pigmentation etc. They bit expensive in compare to cream but the results are best in compare to cream. Now a days they are part of everyone’s routine. Even males do also use serums.

sahana ramanand January 18, 2013 at 10:28 am

I have never added a serum in my routine before simply because I have extremely sensitive skin and am scared to experiment with my skincare. Since I have heard so much about Clarins and its awesomeness I would love to win this to see it for myself. ;)

Answer: Yes its important to use a serum in your routine simply because it is a concentrated version of a moisturizer and is packed with goodness to enhance the texture of your skin.

Raji January 18, 2013 at 10:29 am

Nice Giveaway.! :D I personally prefer using serums only when my skin requires “special” attention. When your skin is in a bad state that cannot be repaired by your regular skin care routine, using serum helps tremendously. Serums help a lot in restoring a damaged skin back to its original state swiftly as they contain ingredients in high concentration.

liked the facebook page -well including serum in your skin care routine is very imporatant as you can get gift hamper because of it :P well jokes apart at a certain age creams don’t work as it needs more time to get absorbed into skin and creams sometime can leave a whitish cast all over making bit obivious to people that you have used something over your skin, whereas serum takes seconds to absorb and works 10times better and nobody can even point out that you have used something but your skin looks youthful at the sametime -well this is my first comment on IMBB page ,hope i win ;) btw loving you IMBB you been my saviour most of the time before choosing any products i refer reviews here and it has never let me down -seriously you have proved to be a boon to girls :D :D :P

cynthia selvanathan January 18, 2013 at 10:37 am

Good one for IMBB readers. Thanks for this opportunity first. Serum is always important in daily routine bcos it enters deep layers of the cell and rejuvenates the skin from inside. It repairs layers of cell which gives a permanent effect unlike creams which forms a cast on the skin just entering the top layers of the skin. For a permanent good texture of skin serum is essential in daily routine :-D

Srivani January 18, 2013 at 10:38 am

Step 1: done! step 2 : A good face serum actually helps moisturizer to penetrate deeper into the skin and provide effective hydration :) [Source : my dry skin :P]

Pallavi Negi January 18, 2013 at 10:40 am

Yes i feel including a double serum in the skin regime is very necessary and i can say so coz I’m using only Clarins right now and it’s helping the parched dry skin on my face and even seems to be restoring the skin because it feels sometimes a little more dewy than before I switched to this brand.
Moreover i feel using a serum is just not only for mature women, v shud start taking care of our skin as young as possible and with a good serum in skin care regime will beautify to a great extent only!! :D :D
i hope dis time my comment get posted as my few previous comments were not posted :( :’(

liked the fb page…….and i have recently discovered serum but the difference it has made in my skin in such a short time is remarkable,it reduces pore size makes the skin glow helps to reduce nasty pigmentation and dullness and reduces all the tell a tale signs of ageing….and it gets absorbed so quickly since my serum is water based it feels like am wearing nothing so no worries about greasiness of skin ….the new beauty mantra of every girls should now be ctm & s…..thank u imbb team…..

amy January 18, 2013 at 10:48 am

Yes! It definately is for me! In winter my skin gets so dry and frostbitten, and if i was to pile on the moisturiser every day it would get spotty ( I have combination skin), so I make sure to use a serum at night, whilst i get my beauty sleep!

Priyanka Raman January 18, 2013 at 10:54 am

Hi, this is probably the best give away so far! I really really hope I win this.

What in my opinion an anti aging serum does:

Post 25, our skin gradually starts degenerating which is why extra care is needed to make sure it stays soft & supple. Due to environmental conditions (pollution, harsh weather, dust etc..) & lifestyle issues ( partying late, work press, stress, caffeine, nicotine) we often abuse our skin. Skin they say, is the mirror of your body – it reflects the state of health. One really needs to take extra care to make sure we do not abuse the skin too much. This is where a serum comes to aid – a serum helps balance the negatives by providing the skin with essential oils & extracts. While a serum is not the one stop solution, combined with the right skin regime, it helps you enjoy a good skin for a longer time.

Why do I need this serum?

Ok, so I have had oily skin & was a tom boy ignoring my skin all these years till I looked at myself in the mirror one day & decided enough is enough! Somebody recommended I see Dr Kubba who detected I have PCOS among a host of nutritional deficiencies ! Since then I have been a little anal about my skin – yes I have a skin routine, check ups every month to ensure I undo what I did to my skin all these years.

Then day I turned 25, I walked into L’occitane to pick up some anti aging products to compliment my skin regime. With my marriage around the corner (yes, I am getting married in July), I would like to make sure I look the glowing bride on the D-day! I really think a serum like this might help compliment my existing efforts. I have ready how Rati managed to look great both in Humid (Goa) & Dry (Delhi) weather.. And I cant tell you how much I want to try this product myself.

I am hoping I get chosen to try the gift pack – The cleanser & eye shadow seem like the perfect combo. It seems likes an irresistible giveaway. *fingers crossed*

p.s : on an unrelated note, am getting engaged on the 25th of Jan when the results will be out.. should be checking out results from chennai :)

xoxo
Priyanka

Ujwala January 18, 2013 at 10:54 am

Good Morning,

Including a Serum in a skin care regime is indeed important because it has the efficiency to penetrate into the deeper layers of skin while addressing a core problem along with sufficient moisturisation.
So definitely a yes !If a serum can both moisture and correct skin problems than I bet it should a part of everyday care!

sweta January 18, 2013 at 10:56 am

Wow… iss baar tho mughe jitna heen hai. I really wana try these product.

I will be very honest here, till now I have not tried any serum in my skin care routine. Actually until today i was not knowing what is the difference between a serum and a moisturizer. After seeing this page, I google to find the difference and I was amazed to see the results. It says that moisturizers have bigger molecules then a serum , so it can not penetrate skin as deeper as a serum can do. Serums are made of higher concentration of active ingredients so it works deeper and faster. Be it an anti aging serum, spot removal serum or acne curing serum it always works better then a cream for the same purpose.

After finding all this gyaan on net I am really willing to try serum in my skin care routine. I am in my late twenties now, and I love taking care of my skin. slowly age is showing its sighs on my skin by making it drier then it was before. I am a working woman who don’t have time to sit with a face mask on for 20 minutes, I don’t get time for regular parlor appointments. So with age and time not being on my side I need something for my skin which is more effective and faster and that is why I feel and I want to include serum in my skin care routine :)

I say a yes to Serum !!

mily jain January 18, 2013 at 10:57 am

i have been using serum since the last one year and after using serum i do not feel the need to apply any other face cream or any products because it provides enough hydration for the skin, and i havnt yet tried clarins face serum but i would really love to try it and use it further. The main benefit of serum is that it contains many additional nutrients which a moisturizer cannot provide. It also penetrates to the deeper layers of our skin which a moisturizer or any other face cream is not able to achieve, no matter how good it is because a moisturizer has larger molecules than a serum which do not have enough penetrating power. serum is a powerful concentrated elixir of many valuable ingredients including vitamins and anti-oxidants that help to fight against ageing and correct the skin of spots and imperfections. Nowadays serums are divided according to the type of skin you have which is an added advantage.

mily jain January 18, 2013 at 11:00 am

i will like the facebook page in the evening because right now i am in office and facebook doesnt open here. :(

Prabhjyot January 18, 2013 at 10:57 am

liked the clarins’s page on fb..Serum is important as it is a repair product which works on deeper level in the skin..and a good serum can work wonders on skin.. everyone should follow it as a daily skincare routine..

Beverly Gomes January 18, 2013 at 10:59 am

It helps in keeping skin hydrated and nourished Only a serum can penetrate the many layers of the skin it can add moisture and other ingredients much deeper into the skin.I am 36yrs and never used any anti ageing creams but i have started noticing alot of lines Dark spots so yes i would love the cute giveaways but would actually really like to try Clarins Double serum more Thanks!!!<3

SSK January 18, 2013 at 11:00 am

Serum is important for hydration that goes skin deep, it reduces a lot of beauty problems by penetrating into all the layers of skin, something moisturrizer just cannot do. Not only that, it is a long term solution to skin problems. Zits, scars, unevenness, you name it, serum is the go-to when all else fails! :)
Best bit is, it is great for people who have weird skin (like I do :P ) – sensitive, combination and acne-prone skin!

kirti jalan January 18, 2013 at 11:02 am

yes serum is important in our daily skin care routine as it opens pores n helps our skin to breathe !!!

Kashish January 18, 2013 at 11:06 am

Serum is an important part of daily skin care routine because its is in more concentrated form and being in gel form it absorbs into skin better quickly and penetrates into deeper layers and gives faster and betters results.

priyanka mansotra January 18, 2013 at 11:07 am

Ok my Answer is : Serums are important part of skin care routine as they are liquid, fast absorbing & light weight so that it can penetrate easily into the skin & deeply nourish/hydrate skin.Serums improves skin texture, restores skin radiance and fights wrinkles :)

Serum and moisturizing is a necessity if you want that flawless and soft skin.
Serum is good for all skin types majorly oily and combination the water based nature of the serum makes it easy and handy to use also the ingredients present in it makes it evidently an important skin care product.
When any of your normal cosmetics or skincare doesnot show the results you expect, at those times, a Serum is a savior! :)

afmira kamaal January 18, 2013 at 11:09 am

serum’s small molecular structure enables it to penetrate through three layers of the skin and hence gets absorbed into the deep skin layers quickly depositing skin nutrients and stimulating collagen production from the inside- out. Also they are great moisturizers, they give an up-lift to the skin have anti-inflammatory properties and soothe the skin. They are lightweight but very potent active ingredients; they contain ten times the active ingredients in comparison to creams and lotions- a real ‘heavy duty’ product which gets very messy due to humidity in cities like mumbai ( ask me about it :(. It makes me feel as if I am melting lol. Serums also target the fine lines that map your face and visibly reduce them. They also help in overall improvement in their skin tone, skin brightness and skin smoothness with regular use. What else could you ask for ;)!! So ofcourse yes serums are a must for your daily skin care routine.

Shalini Kuruvath January 18, 2013 at 11:10 am

Serum contains high levels of nourishing ingredients such as vitamins, amino acids, and essential oils that help restore moisture and elasticity to the skin while regulating oil production. It is aimed at solving a specific skin care complaint. The most common benefits include hydration, increased nourishment, brightening of the skin, and acne prevention. :) So i loved it

Venika Sharma January 18, 2013 at 11:12 am

Yeah I do agree that serum is very important in our skincare routine. There are many reasons for the same but the most important one is :
It cleans, exfoliate and moisturize skin. Its Like Skin specialists, which can be used to cure wrinkles, firming, age spots and discolorations. Serums are much much far better then moisturizer and use of serum adds the new enthusiasm to my skin. :) xoxo :)

sonali January 18, 2013 at 11:14 am

liked the page on fb….now to the reason why a Serum should be included… Using a face serum is a means of attacking various skin care problems deep below the surface of the skin. Merely using a moisturiser is not enough ( as it cannot penetrate all skin layers) , it is important to add serum in your skin care routine.
In short “Serums act as specialists. They are formulated to address specific skin concerns such as wrinkles, firming, age spots and discolorations. Serums can address needs that aren’t covered by a moisturizer.”

Precious Pearl January 18, 2013 at 11:15 am

My answer: Serums are very important for the skin care. They maintain skin’s healthy balance and add nutrients to the skin. Their ingredients are fast acting and are easily absorbed into the skin.

TIYASHA MITRA January 18, 2013 at 11:16 am

i would use it to stay younger, longer.

Swati January 18, 2013 at 11:20 am

Hey Rati and Sanjeev! Lovely giveaway! I have never tried a serum before but i know the benefits for sure.. i’ll keep it simple.
Here goes:
1. Serums are highly concentrated with nutrients and specific ingredients so one sees the effects sooner. (Aging, spots, pigmentaion, imperfections, brightness, hydration…they Target different needs)
2. They have smaller molecules than normal moisturizer so they penetrate into the deeper layers more effectively.
3. They are light weight so can be used easily by all skin types (special love for oily skin women)
4. Only a very small quantity is required because it spreads nicely. So a bottle will go a long way.

Isheeta January 18, 2013 at 11:23 am

- honestly! you guys put up such cute, hassle-free giveaways that can be entered into while on-the-go.
And yayyy! Some Clarins’ this time!
I’ve come a long way from no moisturisers to a skin-apt moisturiser to toners included. And now it’s time for some Serum activity. I’m such a sneak for my mum’s vanity, such that the other day I decided to test the value of a serum using her anti-ageing one(at 22 that sounds Bad!) Tjough it was just a one-time thing, but I definitely could feel something different post-application. the moisturiser was absorbed better, skin felt so much more smoother, satin, minimal pores(I have huge ‘porous’ issues :p), and my foundation was gliding on like a dream, and stayed intact. And my skin looked better after I removed my makeup(it looks like a wheat field usually!)

Also, serums are usually more concentrated than regular moisture variants and seep through to couter-act whatever isseues it be from the epidermal layer. Hnece, quick results, better doses. They work to protect your skin from all those extra layers of makeup you have to put up to prep, no? Night-hour serums usually are far more effective thatn creams due to high levels of component concentrates in a more raw form and without a base layer. hence, a more better working. So, yes serums are on the top of my to-have list for 2013! :)

For me serum helps keep my skin hydrate and maintains an essential balance to prevent it from damage. To nourish my skin and save the same from early aging, spots and pigmentation i like to add this in my routine to save my youth for next few years.

Ritika Kapoor January 18, 2013 at 11:42 am

Serums are a miracle product to use and important part of proper skin care as they are used to brighten the skin, to prevent ageing, acne, etc

nami January 18, 2013 at 11:43 am

Dermatologically speaking the very best way to get better results from your skin care products is to use a serum but personally speaking what’s more important is WHEN AND HOW to use it.I use lots of serums … i start off with a serum to prepare the skin to better absorb the products that follow and Every evening, use Serum again in the last step of skincare to massage the temples, the side of your nose, the back of your ears, and the center of your forehead.

krishti January 18, 2013 at 11:43 am

a serum is a sort of concentrated skin treatment, most creams and conditioners either have too low concentrations of their effective ingredients or are not absorbed easily.a serum solves that problem.it get absorbed in a jiffy, has the right concentration of nutrients so it shows effect faster.so a serum really is important for glowing glowing skin :)

Dulumani Das January 18, 2013 at 11:50 am

Love u IMBB

Liked the facebook page…..

Serum are light weight so can be used easily by all skin types. It can deliver antioxidants such as vitamin C or it can exfoliate, which not only brightens your complexion but also improves the absorption of your moisturizer. So apply a serum to your clean, dry face, wait three to five minutes till it’s absorbed, and then put on your moisturizer. Applying a serum doesn’t block a moisturizer’s absorption. They work to protect your skin from all those extra layers of makeup. Serum is a must have item for every beauty in all age…

dharani January 18, 2013 at 11:52 am

liked the fb page already…..
coming to the answer

yes. serums are very important in skin care routines not just because of their property to penetrate deeper than a normal moisturiser beacuse they are made specifially for in regard with each and vey skin porblem out there and the solution for it. they are perfect protectors and people who live in cities and who are prone to face pollution than normal towns need better protection from the sun as well since pollution increases the sun effects. they are super absorbing work faster than any mask or treatment we may use in parlours since there is agp in each sitting we do in parlours. and the ingedients used mostly are harmless and directly concentrate on that particular problem without getting any side effects. they are moisturising as well and are a great makeup base since the skin gets super soft regenerated and smooth giveing the perfect platform. and using along with a ctm helps in better penetration. i highly recommend serums and i personally use serums more than moisturisers. they really can change your skin for the better if you find your perfect serum as i did in mine.

coming to hairs….it is the same as in more protection, damage repair, nourishment, regenerating…beauty of course…..

Vyjayanti January 18, 2013 at 11:52 am

Yes, I do think including a serum in our skincare routine is very important as it helps to rejuvenate our skin and keeps it healthy and young forever..

sreerupa January 18, 2013 at 11:52 am

obviously YES…!!! including SERUM in our daily skin care routine is important and I want this :)

Applying serum on our skin boost moisture. Serums are light, but they have very concentrated levels of ingredients that make them ideal for absorption. Serum provide moisturising and to protect our skin from the dehydrating effect of Winter. usually the serum contains ingredients such as vitamins, amino acids, and essential oils that help restore moisture and elasticity to the skin while regulating oil production… so having serum is must.

hope to win :) :) :)

so many comm

Nupur Saxena January 18, 2013 at 11:55 am

Yes! I believe it is important adding serums for a perfect skincare routine since they are a more targeted part of the routine and are strong and full of active ingredients. They work on deeper level and are usually created for specialist needs such as added hydration, acne or aging. They really can make a huge difference to the look and feel of your skin.

SHEFALI January 18, 2013 at 11:56 am

CLARINS All for you XOXOXO!!!
So, starting from what the product is all about…
A serum contains concentrated active ingredients. According to a cosmetic chemist, Serums act as specialists. They are formulated to address specific skin concerns such as wrinkles, firming, age spots and discolorations. Serums can address needs that aren’t covered by a moisturizer.

Yes i do think that serums are very vital for skin as to these serums are mainly used to provide moisture and nourishment to the skin. This have the potential to cure many common skin conditions, including discoloration, redness, wrinkles, acne sagging skin, fine lines, dark spots, and facial dehydration.

Babara January 18, 2013 at 11:57 am

Hi IMBBians… Hope I win this one !!!
Including a serum in one’s daily skin routine is important as its is much more effective than a normal moisturizing lotion/crcream. A serum is more concentrated than a moisturizer and thus reaches deep into the skin’s layer. It provides deep hydration which an ordinary moisturiser might fail to achieve. Thus, a serum adds that extra zing to the skin. The skin will not only love it but will ‘hum’ to it and you will looooove the heads you turn when out !!! (Of admiration and envy!!!)

Sneha Sen January 18, 2013 at 11:59 am

Yes,including a serum in the skin care routine should be an absolute essential for all 20+ .
That minuscule dose of serum into the skin everyday helps it sink in the nourishment required for the day and maintain the collagen synthesis for this sense organ. Also,as we all know a good serum will always help in achieving a healthy glow, even complexion and fairly smooth skin.

Ruch January 18, 2013 at 12:02 pm

Including serums in our daily CTM routine is a must, so much that we r calling it a CTSM routine now. Serums are generally lighter in texture than moisturizers, so they get absorbed easily. They may also have a higher concentration of active ingredients compared to moisturizers. I love using serums cuz its FAST and EFFECTIVE!! :D And thats such a great benefit for the people like me, who are always running late and need to get ready very quickly in the mornings. A drop of serum and i feel good all day that i have provided my skin with the nutrition it needs :D

Serums, for the win! \m/

Jai Rose January 18, 2013 at 12:03 pm

Wowwiee…This just brightened up my day. I have loved to try Clarins product since the time i read Rati’s review. Moreover i have normal to dry skin.. But feared that it would put a bit of dent in my wallet…

Serum is much more important than our normal moisturizers since it penetrates deep into the skin layers thereby giving quick and visible results. But these serums should be carefully selected depending what our skin requires. If we have acne and dull skin then we should opt for skin brightening and anti-acne serums. And i guess it is better not late to prevent signs of aging. Serums give significantly longer term results and a little goes a long way. It is rich in formulation by having 20 plant extracts which are completely organic and safe for our skin. So i guess there would be no side effects. Every one would love to have radiant skin and using serum formulated skin care products would be more beneficial and if it is double serum then it is all the way multi-effective giving double the results. If dark spots, pigmented and uneven skin tone, pores, wrinkles are erased by using serum then it should certainly be a part of our skin care routine.

nidhi January 18, 2013 at 12:06 pm

A thin layer of serum applied evenly on face immediately after cleaning d face n before moisturisation results in improved skin texture because it can penetrate deep into the skin….it imparts a healthy glow, minimizes pores n acts as a tonic for the skin if used for a long time…usually it is light in texture so doesnot cause breakouts..

Shikha January 18, 2013 at 12:06 pm

Yes Serums are important. With hectic life style, busy routines, pollutants, chemicals and bad eating habits out skin get depleted of many vitamins and gradually there effects start showing up in form of dull skin, patches, spots, fine lines, wrinkles etc. Most of cosmetics and skin care products work on surface whereas serums penetrates into layers of skin and replenish required vitamins. So your skin needs to be healthy from inside.

Hi Guys, Serum is very important to use be it an antiageing or skin lighting or for radiance, their are various kind of serum available in the market , one should apply serum after cleansing and toning and before moisturiser, make sure to avoid the eye area as eye serum are different than the face serum. Never use serum alone during the day without the moisturiser as it may harm the skin because the basic work of serum to repair our skin concern and during day their are lots of wear and tear happens due to various harmful factors.
But in the night one can use it without the night cream if you dont want to spend on night creams. Guys always make it a point to use the same company moisturiser as the ingredients match with eachother to provide better benefits , Some time if you use different company moisturiser and serums than it might give your skin reaction and you have nobody to blame……. In short serum are best buy but never forget daily skin care regime:)

Jewel January 18, 2013 at 12:20 pm

Lovely giveaway Rati/ Sanjeev!

I would say that using a serum is important because a facial serum helps to get added nutrients into the deeper layers of your skin that a regular moisturizer is not able to reach. While serums deposit nutrients as well as moisture, moisturizers are meant to deposit moisture and hydration for your skin.

chinali panwar January 18, 2013 at 12:21 pm

First of all want to tell you it’s question is very interesting as you asked,so its my opinion is serum is very important because our life is very hectic life style, busy routines, pollutants, chemicals and bad eating habits so there effects start showing up in form of dull skin, patches, spots, fine lines, wrinkles etc. so serum is good for skincare.

thanks

yes i think serum is important to be included in daily skin routine as it provides extra hydration to the skin making it smooth, blemish free and supple..It acts as a specialist. As moisturiser alone cannot fulfil every requirement of our skin, there comes our hero..;D By using serum we can protect our skin from wrinkles, fine lines, dark circles, spots and other signs of ageing.

Elizabeth January 18, 2013 at 12:24 pm

Yes especially for matured women serums are essential for their skin care rotuine.

ritika January 18, 2013 at 12:30 pm

wow..thats a grt giveaway..
well,i think its is very important to use a serum in our skin care regimen no matter if you are in earlly 20s or older.Serum are considered to be important for those who are ageing but i completely detest this as we all need special care and in this environment that is full of dust,pollution..everyone is prone to getting adverse effects.
it is definitely more than a moisturizer as a moisturizer only helps in hydrating the skin but a serum is a concentrated formula that easily gets absorbed by the skin and has other benefits of improving skin tone, pigmentation marks, dark spots, etc.(loreal youth code did all that for me!!!).It has anti oxidants, vitamins and today each brand is coming up with more beneficial serum.I myself use serum twice a day.It is the most important part of my night skin care and i have the the results so i completely recommend everyone to go ahead and have one serum in there skin care routine. You will surely see the results…

poorva January 18, 2013 at 12:30 pm

great giveaway :) ive used only 2 clarins products so far n really liked them – their sunscreen and hydraquench cream melt! would love to try more of clarins :)
yes a serum is very important for the skin ! i feel so because serums penetrate the skin in a way that moisturizers never can!a serum contains properties of a moisturizer in a much more concentrate form! so serums are beneficial especially when u r targetting some certain result, like anti-acne, anti-ageing etc! and its important to match the serum with ur skin type!

Riti January 18, 2013 at 12:34 pm

Hi all,

I haven’t included a serum in my SkinCare routine, but its high time that I do! THe truth is , serums are usually quite expensive , so its a tough task going out there and “experimenting” with them, and so I am a little reluctant in trying out , especially because I have sensitive , acne prone skin!

As far as their effects are concerned , serums basically fast track your skin care, as they are in more concentrated form and therefore are more effective than their counterparts!Be it Anti Ageing , Skin Brightening or Anti Ageing, there is a serum for every need out there :) I agree with most of the comments up there, City Life is harsh and you need that “extra” something to keep your skin looking beautiful ! Well , I’m looking forward to using a good serum :) Maybe I can get my hands on some samples some day , and I’ll be trying them out !Looking forward to using some good serums and enjooying Happy Skin Days!

yes i think serum is important for our skin. serum provides extra hydration to the skin makin it smooth, blemish free and supple. moisturiser alone cannot fulfil every nourishment that our skin needs,,here comes our hero.;D serum acts as a specialists. By using serum we can protect our skin from wrinkles,,fine lines, dark spots and many other signs of ageing.

Maneeta Bhansali January 18, 2013 at 12:42 pm

Yes, including a Serum in your skincare routine is important, infact it is one of my top five essentials of a daily skincare routine.

I’m in my late 20s and consider Serums to be my skincare superhero! Serums are lightweight, absorbed better into the skin, suitable for nearly every skin type, and packed with the highest concentrations of active ingredients to target every anti-aging concern.

P.S. I would love love love to try Clarins Double Serum. : )

Nidhi January 18, 2013 at 12:43 pm

Yes, including serums in your skincare routine makes all the difference because serums are more concentrated and potent than your regular creams and lotions, and penetrate deeper into layers of your skin.

This makes them much more efficient in making a difference to your skin. Choosing your serum completely depends on what you want to achieve from it – brightening, anti ageing, hydration or clear skin.

Yes serums are relatively expensive, but usually a little goes a long way and if you find the right serum, the effects are priceless!

I’ve only recently started using serums, and I am never going back! :)

Stay beautiful! <3

Love,
Nidhi

aru January 18, 2013 at 12:45 pm

me want only the samples :):) cos for my skin which is a combination type, I would not want to risk picking up a full fledged serum pack including the cleanser without knowig whether it will work on my skin more so since serums are so much concentrated than regular moisturizers. I would honestly want someone else to win it.

But on this topic – serums are required for that added avantage of providing nutrients to your skin which is today’s age is so required. With the Weather getting extreme in any part of the world that we are in, any help we can get in making our skin look better would be most welcome i think.

Good luck to all those whose are participating..

Shikha Jain January 18, 2013 at 12:45 pm

yes the use of serum is very important in daily use to keep skin hydrated to make it live and breathe. it makes skin soft, smooth and clean. the use of serum helps the skin to breathe properly and freely as in today’s modern life it is very difficult to handle our profession study with the care of us and our skin. it helps in our busy scheduled to give time for our skin care and helps to fight with dust, pollution etc. so i advice and i self use a serum in my day to day routine for my skin care.

Mansi Pant January 18, 2013 at 12:47 pm

oh i forget to mention i also liked the Clarins FB page also…:D

Dhvni January 18, 2013 at 12:49 pm

Yes, serums are really very important for our skin and should include it in our skincare routine because:
*Serums are liquid treatments high in concentrated ingredients specifically used to treat skin problems such as redness, fine lines, discoloration, and dehydration. The difference between a regular moisturizer versus a serum is the potency of its active ingredients: facial moisturizers and lotions contain less than 10 percent active ingredients while a serum contains anywhere from 10percent to 70 percent. These highly concentrated active ingredients or nutrients are fast acting and are easily absorbed into the skin. Bear in mind that these active ingredients will fluctuate from serum to serum, depending on what the purpose of the serum is and what skin type it was formulated for.*

manorama January 18, 2013 at 12:54 pm

Amazing giveaway !!!!!!!
Here’s the answer :

Serums are generally light and extremely concentrated. They protects against environmental damage and naturally stimulates skin’s collagen production.
While it may seem like just another form of moisturizer(which sit on the surface of the skin), serums are more potent than your average anti-aging cream.
They do their job better (like penetrating vitamins, antioxidants deeper into the skin to many layers) as they are formulated with smaller molecules than the moisturiser.
They tackle various complexion concerns. So this is why you should spend more on serums. :)
You definately get for what u have paid …a younger looking skin in the matter of minutes. :)

Tinkerbell January 18, 2013 at 12:58 pm

Serums are usually concentrated formulations, which deliver quick results. Creams can end up being greasy and may take much longer to give visible results, plus their base may be loaded with unnecessary ingredients which don’t do much good to our skin. So yeah, serums should be a part of our skin care routine. Better to invest in a good quality serum first. Good glowing skin will look beautiful even without slathering much makeup on.. :)

Diva January 18, 2013 at 1:06 pm

Thank u Sanjeev & Rati for this cute giveaway…

I love CLARINS..

I have just crossed 30 and have a well behaved, spotless, youthful skin and I want to retain the same for years to come. I am obsessed with the mirror and want to look and feel beautiful, I guess we all want to look good at least in our own eyes. I believe in aging gracefully because none can ever win a battle with ageing. However with the present climatic conditions, pollutions, life style, stress we tend to lose the battle of ageing. Fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots, dullness set in as early as late 20’s.
Exercising regularly, maintaining a proper diet and lifestyle alone won’t help much in the ageing process. There is a need of some external skin care where a simple moisturizer is not effective. Here we need something extra with more targeted action and the answer to the extra thing is – A serum. Serums are higher concentration of active Ingredients, with deeper penetration, faster, more effective and targeted action. Based on skin type serums generally come in Gel or creams base.
I am beautiful if I feel so. The judge of my beauty is my own eyes. If I look young and beautiful, I feel beautiful and I believe that I am BEAUTIFUL. So serums now play a very active part in my skincare. Serums help me in retain my youthful skin and my skin tells me that I am beautiful and young.

Rebecca January 18, 2013 at 1:16 pm

Yes, including a serum in our daily skincare routine is very necessary. Serums treat many skin conditions like loosening of skin muscles, acne and pimple marks, hyperpigmentation. Serums penetrate much deeper into our skin which the general creams cannot. Serums act directly on the derma layer, so the results are achieved faster. Currently I’m using Lotus Whiteglow Serum daily and I’m quite happy with it.

Tanu January 18, 2013 at 1:23 pm

Yess … Serums are Intensive anti-ageing treatment that helps in keeping our skin hydrate and nourished providing visibly youthful look: firmer skin, visibly reduced wrinkles, more even complexion and less visible pores.

Surbhi Sinha January 18, 2013 at 1:25 pm

First of all a very big Thank you to Clarins’ for such a cute and supercool giveaway……:).

YES Including SERUM in our daily skincare routine is important. Serum gets absorbed easily into the skin b’coz of its small molecular structure, which penetrates three layers of skin depositing skin nutrients. Also they are usually made for specialist needs like hydration, acne, ageing. Serums uplift the skin, are anti-inflammatory and soothing to skin. Their ingredients are active and light-weight and contain anti-stress elements that help the skin. They target fine lines on our skin and visibly reduce them. Regular use of serum can improve skin tone , skin brightness and skin smoothness.

Jasmine January 18, 2013 at 1:28 pm

Using Serum is not a new thing, but it has only come into light now in the last few years. I believe a serum is an important added step in the daily CTM routine, since it works on those skin aspects where the moisturizers and toners lag behind. So unlike moisturizers, serums deliver added nutrients and vitamins more rapidly and deeply into the skin’s epidermal layers for long-lasting results.

raga January 18, 2013 at 1:35 pm

First of all I want to say that I’ve become an ardent fan of this site. Whenever I’ve to buy any cream or face wash I try to find it’s review here. After reading the review I decide whether I wuld buy it or not. So a big thank you to all.
Now my answer to your question is:
serum is a very effective skin care product. It is a concentrated product which goes deep into our skin and make it look glowing. So serums are a must have for all ladies.

Sophia January 18, 2013 at 1:45 pm

First of all a huge hug for the IMBB team n Clarins for giving your fans the opportunity to try out such wonderful skincare……
Even though majority of us follow the CTM routine religiously I feel a serum should be incorporated in the regimen to experience the full benefits of the routine. Why?Because a serum has a much higher percentage of active ingredients than our normal moisturizer and because of its comparatively thinner consistency it effortlessly penetrates into the deeper layers of the skin and can deliver the intended benefits to all skin types be it hydration, extra nourishment, brightening, combating acne ,anti aging and what not….Moreover they are non pore clogging and continuous use can even reverse years of skin damage to reveal more youthful looking skin-So its time to say a big Hiiiiii to serums if you are looking forward to a revitalized and more youthful you!!!

I have been using serum from past few months on my problematic skin and I feel its a boon to my skin care regimen. It is not only for the problematic skin people but it is a must for everyone as we all are in constant contact with the external environment and our skin is also significantly affected by internal factors like our health and lifestyle

Skin serums moisturize, uplift the skin, are anti-inflammatory and soothing to the skin. They have an anti-stress element which helps the skin. While most moisturizers and other face creams only contain 5–10% of active ingredients, a face serum can contain up to 70% active ingredients (vitamins, antioxidants, plant extracts). These potent products are able to deliver a much greater concentration of nutrients deeper into the skin.

Using a face serum has the double benefit of feeding the skin healthy, hydrating nutrients without clogging pores . You can notice an overall improvement in skin tone, skin brightness and skin smoothness with regular use of serum

Time to have the clear radiant skin we have always wanted!!!!

I have liked the fb page too :)

Nidhi R January 18, 2013 at 1:50 pm

Thank you IMBB and CLARINS for this wonderful opportunity. Yes Serum is an integral part of daily skin care routine after a certain age. I believe Serum is a miracle nectar that penetrates revitalizes and enhances cell renewal and regeneration process revealing a youthful and radiant appearance with prolonged use.
Its the fountain to youth in short after all Prevention is Better than Cure .

Amropali Nath January 18, 2013 at 1:58 pm

First of all thanks a ton IMBB and Clarins for this supacool giveaway :).

Secondly I am also an ardent believer in using serums since I have a few skin spots and serum works wonders on those. The simple reason being, they act more like a specialist does. They can mend the skin issues which cannot be solved by merely using moisturizers. They are formulated to deal with specific skin problems like wrinkles, toning, spots, discolorations, etc. It directly acts on the problems which lies deep below the outer layer of the skin. The sheer liquids are highly concentrated with various nourishing active ingredients like vitamins, plant extracts, essential oils, etc. which assists in restoring the moisture level as well as brings back the skin-elasticity which we lose due to aging. It also boosts up the skin’s capacity of natural oil production. While usually the moisturizers as well as other skin creams contains merely 5–10 percentage of active ingredients, a face serum may be made of about 70 percent active components. These effective products are competent in providing much better nourishment through a concentration of ingredients, deeper into your skin.

shai January 18, 2013 at 2:04 pm

Have liked the FB page. I have not done too much research on serums, but as I am growing older, I look forward to learning more about what I can do to care best for my skin. As with every product, I guess trial and error is what helps!

Unlike moisturisers, they are made up of relatively smaller molecules which can penetrate into all three layers of our skin, thus providing required nutrition from within.

Divya January 18, 2013 at 2:25 pm

Hi All,
Not to deliver too much gyaan but simply put, serums are like skin elixirs! It is good to include serums into daily skincare as they deliver a burst of active nutrients and penetrate the deepest of skin layers. Hence they are more potent than normal creams and show faster results. Easily absorbed and non greasy, they improve the skin tone and keep it healthy and glowing. That being said serums are also expensive for the above reasons and this might be a deterrent for many to include serums into their daily skin regimen.

bhawna jain January 18, 2013 at 2:34 pm

yes it is very important .it gives a new life to your skin…

Samantha January 18, 2013 at 2:37 pm

As I head towards turning 30, I know that my skin requires a lot more than just a cleanser, toner and moisturizer, incorporating a serum into my routine would ensure my skin stays young for longer by not only delaying the damage to my skin and rejuvenating it but repairing the daily wear and tear that occurs due to exposure to the sun and pollution that makes it dull and dry. Clarins Double Serum is a proven product which guarantees amazing results and I’d love to win this cute little hamper and try it for myself. Really looking forward to winning some super great goodies. ^_^

Thrupthi January 18, 2013 at 2:39 pm

<3 <3 IMBB and CLARINS :D :D
In ma attempt to win these cute lill bagsss….
Why SERUM – dey are like the Liquide Treatment coz it helps you fight dark spots, acne and fine lines (Guess even more than this…), they are thin n slippry (which is amazzzzng) and a few little drops does wonders spreading from hairline to neck and Voila… unlike moisturizers they penetrate deep into the skin and heal it inside-out, where as the moisturizer keeps sitting on the skin.. and also it gets added nutrients into deeper layers of the skin that a regular moisturizer is not able to reach, useing it daily makes our skin smooth and leaves it revitalised…. Including it in the daily skin care regime makes the skin feel fresh and lively and (fingers crossed) it keeps you youthful (who wants to see the signs of ageing)…mostly serums are designed to work on the skin at night when your epidermis is in repair mode…

Hence for a beautiful lively healthy Skin…. say Helooooo SERUM!!!!

Anjali January 18, 2013 at 2:47 pm

Hello everyone !
I have come to believe after having read many posts here at IMBB that including a serum in our skincare routine is essential.

Generally, serums are targeted to tackle specific problems and here the product in question
‘Clarins double serum’ combines two powerful age-defying serums into one optimum balance to help fight all aspects of visible ageing. Helping us stay younger, longer !

And that is precisely why i would like to win it for my mom (who is suffering from ageing of skin and pigmentation) needs this kind of a serum from Clarins which is of international repute and IMBB recommended !

Anu walia January 18, 2013 at 3:03 pm

Yes, serums should be a part of the skin care routine because where the moisturizers fail to reach a serum works there, A serum has tiny molecules which penetrates the skin faster and goes till the essential layers of the skin where as a moisturizer has bigger molecules which only works on the surface of the skin. Serums give better hydration to the facial skin which results in radiance and a even tone of the skin!

Rowena January 18, 2013 at 3:16 pm

Yes, I do feel our skin requires a serum, especially ageing skin. Serums are essential in our beauty vanities as they have loads of benefits for our skin. The fact that they can permeate & get absorbed into the deep layers of the skin, rather than just working superficially on the skin, gives wonderful & lasting results. Skin serums are concentrated with the best nutrients & vitamins to counteract and prevent an array of problems that our skin faces today. There are a multitude of serums available today that focus on various skin issues such as signs of aging, acne, pigmentation, etc. Hence, I feel that including a good skin regimen that involves serums to suit our skin along with a diet rich with fruits & veggies will surely reflect in healthy, glowing skin.

Ada Khan January 18, 2013 at 3:26 pm

Thank you….i mean to indebt you wid ma gratitude so dat to unburden yourself ull drop d hamper in ma hands….hehehehe….so here goes to d mere essentiality…
Yes….
coz….its d concentrated cocktail of important ingredients delivered directly to the deeper layers of skin…which enhances the effect.
And only a serum can penetrate the many layers of the skin. Other skin care products usually have larger molecules than a serum, and therefore might only work on the surface of the skin, whereas a serum with its tiny molecules can add moisture and other ingredients much deeper into the skin.

it deeply & instantly moisturizes your skin, gets absorbed easily, Provides Intense nourishment, prevents ageing.
Its an ultimate moisturisation choice for dry & extra dry skin.
it has the ability to penetrate into the deepest skin level unlike other creams, due to its texture.

Ritu R January 18, 2013 at 4:45 pm

whoaa… yayy! thanks so much IMBB and Clarins for this giveaway!
In my opinion, serum is important because of its restorative and repairing properties. it replenishes moisture into the skin, and delays signs of ageing. Any damage done to the skin during the day due to exposure to pollutants is also repaired by the use of serum. Also, in the long run, serums help in preventing damage to the skin because of all the factors listed above.

Fingers crossed! :D

Wow, I had to scroll so much to reach this comments section! Well first of all – great giveaway! Ok now to my answer

Till recently I had seen a lot of serums in the skin care range and always thought them to be those pricey things meant only for celebrities – things that are simply a huge marketing gimmick – and then I finally got to try one serum (not from Clarins unfortunately) but good nevertheless – that is when I found that serums can be really good for sensitive combination skinned people like me – a) they are not heavy in texture, b) they are a concentration of all the goodness that can be packed into a single skin care product – hence if you find the right serum for your skin it can actually make a great difference.

I hope I get to try out the much talked about serum from Clarins soon!

jainee January 18, 2013 at 5:20 pm

at 20′s we ignore our skin, we have skin care regime like sunscreen and moisturizing but that is not enough. This i have realized in my 30′s, although am new to 30′s but can see the difference in my skin, pigmentation, open pores, white heads and what not.

A serum is useful as it balances and even outs the skin tone, it is the perfect base before the sun cream routine and night serums help us to rejunivate the skin while we are sleeping.

Monika January 18, 2013 at 5:20 pm

Done…the process. Love the giveaway.. :)
Serum is like food for our skin. It gives all necessary ingredients, moisturize, clean and rejuvenate skin that enhance beauty cells of the skin and leads to gorgeous never fading beauty and glow if used properly. Other i will tell after using Clarins :)

Saurabhi January 18, 2013 at 5:30 pm

I use a serum regularly as it helps reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. It brightens my skin. It helps the moisturiser penetrate deeply into the skin. This is a must have in everyone’s daily CTM routine. A lot of people still do not know what is a Serum and why is it important to use.

Barkha January 18, 2013 at 5:33 pm

thanx a lot 2 IMBB & clarins for this superb giveaway… :)… i am a silent reader of IMBB..:)
Skin serums moisturize, uplift the skin, are anti-inflammatory and soothing to the skin. They have an anti-stress element which helps the skin. Serums target the fine lines that map our face and visibly reduce them… i think these are the most important features of a serum.. :)

Riya January 18, 2013 at 5:33 pm

At the cost of repitition of Sanjeev’s words:

Why Clarins double serum for ME:

I am gravitating more and more towards cute and painless serums. I want to do very little in my skin care, have fun, and win loads of prizes. Not surprisingly, I use skincare serums only from companies that are fun to experiment with. Clarins (pronounced klahrans, as I recently learnt) is one such fun company. After Rati reviewed the Clarins Double Serum, I wanted to win this nice and sweet giveaway!

Yes I think including a serum in skincare routine is very important bcoz skin serums moisturize, uplift the skin, are anti-inflammatory and soothing to the skin. They have an anti-stress element which helps the skin. They are packed with lightweight but very potent active ingredients; they contain ten times the active ingredients in comparison to creams and lotions- a real ‘heavy duty’ product :) . Serums target the fine lines that map your face and visibly reduce them. Overall improvement in the skin tone, skin brightness and skin smoothness with regular use of serums is usually noticed. It gets absorbed into the deep skin layers quickly. This happens because of a serum’s small molecular structure which enables it to penetrate through three layers of the skin depositing skin nutrients and stimulating collagen production from the inside- out.

There are a basic three types – Vitamin E serum, Vitamin C serum and collagen serum. Skin serums prove to be a smart choice when you want to layer products on your skin. As these products are much lighter in feel and texture you could use them in combination- use one serum for skin sensitivity and layer the other for age spots. They are oil free – great choice for oily skin.

If your skin is mature or is displaying signs of premature aging, is too oily or too dry then adding a skin serum to your routine is a good idea. You can also begin using a skin serum to delay the signs of aging especially if you are exposed to a lot of sun, pollution and other environmental agents such as smoke and dust.

yes, because only a serum can penetrate the many layers of the skin and a serum with its tiny molecules can add moisture and other ingredients much deeper into the skin

Meghana T January 18, 2013 at 5:42 pm

Including a serum in a skincare routine is important because it not just helps in a temporary glow for skin but also helps in nourishing it in the long run so it gives us the double benefit of outer coverage of skin for the present and correcting the inner layers of skin for the future. So in my opinion investing in a good serum would definitely help in an effective skincare routine for obtaining a perfect skin with zero blemishes. And Love you Clarins :) :)

Yaay.. An awesome giveaway.. Thank you IMBB.. Such giveaways are a boon to girls like me who doesnt have access to such high end brands in our hometown.. I so would like to try clarins products.. So here goes my entry..
From what I have experienced and what I hav learnt, serums are definitely an essential part of our skincare routine..
* They are light weight and non-greasy and therefore provide adequate moisturisation for oily skinned beauties like me.. I can skip the moisturiser if I want to..
*Since serums penetrate deeper into the skin layers than a regular moisturiser, they are more effective and show results faster..

neelaxmi January 18, 2013 at 5:44 pm

ofcourse serum makes my hairs much smoother dan only shampooing…it gives a radiance nd bounce to.hairs….as well as moisture…for skin also it rehydrates leavng smoothness…

himanshi January 18, 2013 at 5:45 pm

a hair wash is incomplete without serum….DO use to protect your precious locks!!!!!The liquid does transform your hair from dull and rough to shiny and manageable in a matter of seconds!!! It makes the hair reflect more light, thus making it shine more, and protects it from external factors such as dust, heat and humidity. It is the lubrication provided by the liquid which helps untangle hair making it manageable.

face serums are important too..they are extremely concentrated, which is part of why so little is needed. They are also made of very small molecules, which allows them to penetrate deeply into the skin, smoothing and healing from the inside out….
so both play an important role….in their own respect….:) use them and keep glowing…:)

Hi :) I think including serum is important especially since I am getting older and my skin is not getting any younger. It needs that extra bit of help along the way and I find good serums very useful to keep the skin look toned and pretty.

Do you think including a serum in your skincare routine is important? If yes, then why.

Hi everyone, i am new to IMBB yayye :D :)

I absolutely LOVE serums in my skincare routine. As my skin type is dry all year long, i tend to have small-small white patches all over my face if i don’t use a proper skincare routine. My skincare routine is, after cleansing, I use an alcohol-free toner and leave it damp on the skin before applying my serum. By leaving the skin damp with toner, the action ingredients in the serum will penetrate deeper within the skin giving you better results. Moisturizers are meant to create a protective barrier over the skin to keep moisture in the skin from evaporating and keeping environmental irritants and debris out. Serums, while meant to hydrate. They give you a fresh and clean look. Serums are the most important part of the skincare routine for any skin type and one must not forget on taking care of the most beautiful part of the body i.e face.

Yes, a serum is a very important part of a skin care routine as it provides the skin with nourishment which is important for a HEALTHY and FLAWLESS skin

Natasha (Nats) January 18, 2013 at 5:54 pm

In todays times using a serum is important. After all the make up we use on our face… it does need some good nourishment at the end of the day… i wud specifically choose one which tightens the pores on my face and makes my skin more radiant and youthful… Clarins is definitely one of the best brands in the market…. :)

jhanvi January 18, 2013 at 6:03 pm

serum is important because it because it gets absorbed faster then any other skin care product thus giving excellent results..
secondly rati gave such good reviews about it so looks like a must try . :)

Tanvi January 18, 2013 at 6:06 pm

Well serums are basically micromolecules that penetrate the layers of the skin more deeply where regular moisturizers can not reach, hence they can be used to target specific skin problems like ageing, dark spots, skin lightening etc. Nowadays the market is full of various anti ageing serums because that is itself covers so many skin issues. Basically its used as a part of our regular CTM routine, though can be used under sunscreens and with moisturizers too, but if your moisturizer is doing just fine for your skin, you may not really require to use a serum. The jist is that if you are looking forward to treat a specific skin issue, you may as well shell out some extra bucks to buy a serum…Rest eat right, feel good because whatever is inside shows outside too :)

Chitwan Srivastava January 18, 2013 at 6:21 pm

Yes I agree that serum is very important in our skincare routine……..Serums have the ability to penetrate deeper into the skin.

Anita January 18, 2013 at 6:26 pm

Serums are great for daily use or as a rescuer, because they have a higher concentration of active ingredients. Though cleansing, toning and moisturising are a must for every skin type, serums are essential when your skin is in a rut and you’re not getting results with your basic products. They are easily absorbed and provide a super-boost to you your skin, improving their texture and providing hydration and nutrition. You do have to check to see what type of serum is best for your skin type, though. I’ve always chosen serum over creams or lotions – they’re fast acting and often give overnight results.

Saumita Ghosh January 18, 2013 at 6:27 pm

yes, serum should definitely be a part of regular skin care.Just like the way we need to eat a balanced diet for nourishment to our body, the same way our skin too needs nourishment and protection to be healthy. Then only skin looks glamorous and what better way than a serum.

Queeny D January 18, 2013 at 6:27 pm

Well, what I’ve generally read about serums (keeping it simple & short :-) ) , they are more effective and have the tendency to give results quicker.

I read up the Clarins Double Serum product details. It’s worth a try given the fact that 90% Asian women are convinced according to them. And if something is giving Age defying results in 4 weeks,I would like to try it. Already have some very fine lines appearing. :-)

Sweta January 18, 2013 at 6:54 pm

yesss…. Serum is needed as like subji without salt!! Heroin without make up!!!
It gives nourishment to skin because it contains higher concentation of active nourishment.
It suits all type skin…

Wjen i started too use it now i can stop to use it..

Aarthi January 18, 2013 at 7:12 pm

Yes using a serum is very important. I have oily skin and serums are non greasy formulas which is beneficial for my skin and doesnt even breaks me out. Love the fact that it has the goodness of so many ingredients which is a delightful treat for my skin :)

lovleen January 18, 2013 at 7:45 pm

Serum, no doubt is a must have for skin care. According to my experience, they not only add a radiant glow to skin but also maintains a blemish-free youthful skin. clarins, offcourse is one of the most trusted and universal skincare brand.. I would love to win the clarins double serum giveaway. I love experimenting with different skincare brands and winning a double serum by clarins would be a double thumbs up for me :)

I have sensitive and acne-prone skin.. I find serum to be the most essential element in my skincare routine because it is water-based, very light and soothing to the skin. Just a dime size is enough to keep you naturally glowing youthful.

Janani January 18, 2013 at 7:51 pm

Its a definite YES ! a tiny dot of it can actually delay the process of aging, loaded with tiny molecules of nutrients which penetrates deep within the skin and works like magic in a long run. The only sad thing for dry skin beauties that there are possibilities that the skin would become much drier.

sreya January 18, 2013 at 8:57 pm

thank you imbb :D for so many surprises and sweet giveaways :) would love to try clarins product and such a chance is so hard to pass :P :P

Serums are applied after cleansing and toning, but before moisturizing. Serums can deposit ingredients deeper into the skin and can combat sagging, loss of radiance and dehydration as the molecules are smaller than that of the moisturizer. Depending on the consistent and correct use of a serum one can get an immediate improvement. the light weight texture of the serum is an extra advantage to be used to any skin :)

thank you :)

I am one of the silent readers on IMBB. Before I start I want to thank Rati di and sanjeev ji for this site. 6 months back make-up for me was moisturizer and kajal with some lip balm on m lips. All thanks to IMBB I started using different products. Looking at today’s giveaway I think it’s the best time to start a new family with IMBB as IMBB’ians… :)
Well serums are considered as anti ageing products. It aggravates the cell production by giving the deep nourishment to the cells. It minimizes the pores, gives a glow to the skin so my answer is yes. I should be a part of your daily routine and a must for all the beauties above 25…

Ankita Bardhan January 18, 2013 at 9:14 pm

Yay yay!! Thank you for sucha an awesome giveaway Clarins and IMBB!! :D

Yes including serums in skin care is absolutely important because:-
* Serums have active ingredients in high concentration than creams, hence higher efficiency.

* They work effectively on stubborn acne spots, age spots, wrinkles, sagging, uneven pigmentation, redness and they even minimize pores.

* The molecules in serums are much smaller than the creams so, they quickly penetrate deep in the layers of skin leaving behind no residue or chip-chip (stickiness) on the upper layer of skin.

* They instantly add radiance and improve skin’s texture.

Who can say no to such wonder product? ;) :P
