Victoria’s Secret Rich Amber Fragrance Lotion Review

All my shopping mall escapades inevitably end in VS stores 😛 I love the look of those ribbon wrapped bottles, the scents and all their other niceties (ahem ahem 😀 ). Last month, I went to redeem a gift voucher from VS for my Black Friday purchases and I couldn’t help but notice this beauty!! The first thought to cross my mind was that it would look great on my dresser and would be a pretty add-on if not anything else (double bonus 😀 ). So, I redeemed my vouchers with this and I must say that the choice turned out to a great one.  Victoria’s Secret Rich Amber Fragrance lotion is part of “Victoria’s Secret Fantasies” collection and it boosts of being a fast-absorbing moisturizer with rich scents of Amber and Freesia. It captured the rich amber and sensuous freesia floral scent perfectly for me.

Packaging:
Love! Love! Love the packaging!! The product comes in a gorgeous pink tube with beautifully embedded Freesia flower design and a golden screw cap. The cap also has a “press-open” option to easily take out the desired amount of lotion. The press-open feature prevents clogging of excess product inside the cap. The cap design also ensures zero leakage. I have carried it with me for a few trips and it did not leak at all.

My Experience with Victoria’s Secret Rich Amber Fragrance Lotion:

It is a white creamy scented lotion with clear notes of Amber and Freesia. I do not like overly sweet floral scents but the warm floral notes in this one hit off just right for me. The lotion has a smooth texture and spreads easily on the skin. It also gets absorbed instantly after two or three rubs without leaving any white cast/residue. It doesn’t make my skin greasy and keeps it well hydrated.

The product is long lasting. I am not a fan of carrying around moisturizers each time I step out of the house, but thankfully with this product; once I apply it in morning, it keeps my skin moisturized throughout the day and I do not have to reapply it every now and then.

I like scented lotions and this one has a distinctive warm floral scent that stays close to the skin. The fragrance is not too loud or overpowering but can be sensed closely. The scent lingers on my skin for about 5 hours and I love occasionally catching a whiff of it on my hand (Yes! I do get really silly at times :P)!!

The Rich Amber fragrance lotion goes along with my other similar scented VS fragrance mists, so I also use it to layer with them. It doesn’t have any SPF for sun protection, so I use it only on evenings or days when I don’t have to go out in the sun a lot.

Pros of Victoria’s Secret Rich Amber Fragrance Lotion:

• It is a great moisturiser.
• The packaging is simply gorgeous and easy to use.
• It is highly travel friendly and doesn’t leak.
• Has a smooth texture and spreads easily on the skin.
• Long lasting, no need to re-apply frequently.
• Gets absorbed very easily without leaving any white cast/residue.
• Love the fragrance, it is amazing.
• The fragrance lingers on the skin for some time which I personally prefer.
• Can be used for layering with similar scented perfumes/body mists.
• Did not cause any skin irritation or rashes.
• Suitable for all skin types.

Cons of Victoria’s Secret Rich Amber Fragrance Lotion:

• Has parabens.
• Not easily available in stores in India.

Would I Repurchase Victoria’s Secret Rich Amber Fragrance Lotion?
Maybe not, the current one will last me for good couple of months as I use it as an occasional indulgence and I am not very happy with the paraben content.  Apart from the paraben content, I am happy with everything else about this product and I really hope VS releases the paraben-free version of this one as they have done for a couple of other products.

Do I Recommend Victoria’s Secret Rich Amber Fragrance Lotion?
Yes, it does exactly what it claims to do. It is a great long-lasting moisturizer with a wonderful sensuous scent.
