Chanel is such a luxurious brand and the review for the gloss I bring to you today is equally as luxurious! This lip gloss comes in transparent plastic tube packaging with a black screw top and a long wand with a brush applicator. Both the colour, as visible in the tube and the packaging are understated, but trust me this is one of the best glosses I’ve ever used! Even though it is a bit on the pricier side, ‘Freeze’ however, hold your horses, will change your nude and super contoured Kim Kardashian inspired day or night makeup look forever.

My experience with the Chanel #66 Freeze High Shine Sheer Concentrate Aqualumiere Gloss:
You know that sultry look thing Megan Fox has going on with her lips when she’s got a sultry smoky eye to match? Or that gentle nude sheer look Jennifer Lopez’s lips are often caught doing? Or the queen of the ‘sexy lips look’ that Angelina Jolie is often sporting. Ok, don’t get worried now ladies, I’m still in love with my Mr.! And now he is in love too – with the way my lips look! Haha! But anyway this lip gloss has helped me achieve ‘that look’.
The aqualumiere line is quoted to be a high shine sheer concentrate and it certainly doesn’t disappoint. The one thing I instantly fell in love with is the applicator brush. Usually glosses have sponge applicator but this one is a flat soft brush that is so different. It’s very precise, ridiculously soft and hasn’t frayed through all my use and abuse. Also I don’t know what kind of physics is running this thing but when I unscrew this, the applicator top pops open by itself. When I have to close this I have to apply enough pressure to overcome the force from inside this gloss to actually close it. It’s like two magnets repelling each other!
The colour is a nude toasty beige. I see a hint of pink, but more brown tones when it’s applied on my skin tone (NC 30 in the winters). It also has a slight sparkle to it but the sparkles are sooo tiny they just have a beautiful reflective property when you wear this out in the sun. This does settle into the natural lines of your lips a bit, but that’s not a problem because by the time you notice that it’s time to reapply. What can I say, it’s a gloss, I’ve found myself needing to reapply every 1.5 to 2 hours and if you’re eating then you need to reapply after your meal. But the two positives are that this doesn’t actually transfer as much and it doesn’t bleed out of your lip line. Over time, it just kind of disappears and becomes lighter in intensity and colour. The texture is very light, non sticky and hydrating. It feels like satin on your lips, and looks like it too!
You can wear this colour all by itself or with a nude lip liner underneath. I have even paired it with nude and chocolate brown lipsticks for that Kim K. look I mentioned earlier.

Would I repurchase or recommend the Chanel #66 Freeze High Shine Sheer Concentrate Aqualumiere Gloss?
I think if someone asks you what you want for your birthday this should be it. Or if you’ve just received a bonus at work then splurge on this ‘cuz it is $30! I would probably save the plastic packaging once my gloss is finished, clean it and inject another gloss in here. The applicator on this thing is really wonderful and I think that’s what’s making it the whole look very glamorous! But yes, I definitely recommend this at least once in your life!
