Freeman Olive Shea Body Butter

Freeman Olive Shea Body Butter
I had never tried body butter and I really wanted to try it this winter. My latest haul at an online site contained two products from Freeman- Freeman Mandarin Moisturizing Body wash (http://makeupandbeauty.com/freeman-mandarin-moisturizing-body-wash-review/) and Freeman olive shea body butter. These are my first products from this brand. This body butter was just a random choice while I was looking for body butter. Moreover, the quantity seemed great, so I thought let’s give this body butter a try.

Price:
Rs 220 for 150 ml

About the product:

To use:
Massage liberally over entire body until fully absorbed into skin.

My experience with this product:

Freeman Olive Shea body butter comes in inverted yellow colored packaging with a flip flop cap. The bottle looks cute because of the bright yellow color. When I opened the cap for the first time, I saw some of the body butter had spilled out. I thought it was due to transit but now I have noticed that whenever I change the position of the bottle and then open the cap, there is always some spillage. So, I won’t say that it is travel friendly and I avoid putting it in my handbag.

The body butter is of white pearly color. The consistency isn’t runny but is more towards thicker side but isn’t very thick. To give you an exact idea, I would say that it is slightly thicker than our usual Nivea, Parachute and Lakme lotions. The fragrance is very nice. I can’t point out exactly to the kind of the fragrance, but whatever it is, it is heavenly.

This body butter gets instantly absorbed into my skin and doesn’t leave any oily or sticky residue on my skin. It makes my skin very soft and supple and gives a glow to my skin. The moisturisation it provides relieves my skin from dry and stretchy feeling I usually get in winters. I need to reapply it after 4-5 hours in this chilling weather, so I am kind of sure that it will prove to be an excellent moisturiser in summers. It might not be suitable for extremely dry skinned people in winters. The fragrance stays on for 4-5 hours and is not at all overpowering.

Pros:

  •  I read somewhere that Freeman doesn’t test on animals and this is the biggest pro for me. :)
  •  Gets instantly absorbed in my skin.
  •  Doesn’t leave any oily or sticky residue on my skin.
  •  Heavenly fragrance which lingers on for 4-5 hours.
  •  Will prove to be an excellent moisturiser for summers.
  •  Keeps my skin soft and supple.
  •  My skin stays hydrated for 4-5 hours in this chilly weather. It isn’t a very long time, but it is still okay.

Cons:

  •  The packaging is not at all travel friendly. The product spills out a lot.
  •  Won’t work well for extremely dry skinned beauties.
  •  Will work better in summers than winters.

IMBB Rating: 4/5

Will I repurchase/do I recommend?
I will repurchase and recommend it but only in summers. I like the texture, consistency, the way it absorbs and it’s fragrance but somehow I feel I need a better moisturiser for winters. You can give it a try if you aren’t experiencing extremely dry and chilly weather in your area. :)

Have a nice day! :)

Have this and I totally hate it. Not because its a dud, because of its package. So runyy liquid and a downward open tube!!!!… It made my table dirty everytime i use it. I dont understand the theory they applied on its packing

sounds good surbhi. I thought freeman makes only face masks. :)) wouldn’t work for me though. I like the colorful packaging actually. most body butters come in quite a boring packaging. :P
