Outfit of the Day: Mum-made Red Frock with Green Accessories
Hi girls!
This OOTD is very special to me and I dedicate this to my loving mum who made this frock for me. This is going to be photo heavy so please bear with me.
I and my sister grew up wearing various kinds of frocks and dresses made by my mum which were more beautiful than the readymade ones made available in the market. We come from a small town where it is more normal for grown up girls to wear salwar kameez or kurta and jeans more than frocks. So it’s been many years since I last wore a frock. Few days back while browsing through an online store, I came across a plain red dress with green belt. It costs more than Rs.1000. I immediately rang up my mummy and pestered her to make me a red dress too. So she made me this for me.
See how she has given a green piping and also made that lovely flower all by herself with the remaining green fabric. She also ruffled the sleeves to give that extra something to the frock.
I decided to keep it simple by just wrapping a green bead necklace on my wrist as a bracelet and a thin green belt. On my ears I had my green studs.
I wore multicolored ballerinas with this red frock. I got them as cheap as Rs.100! 😀
For my make up, I kept it really simple by just dabbing some compact powder, mascara, a brown eye pencil on the lower lashline, a pink eyeshadow line on the upper lashline and a hint of gloss.
That’s it! Am all happy and cradled in my mum’s love.
And my mum has deisgned this sari she is wearing.:)

Aparajita, I think you should just shun everything else and wear only dresses. Look at you, how gorgeous do you look. I am not sure if it’s the dresses or it’s because it is made by your mum that is making you look sooo adorable. You loook soooo pretttyyy. Mwwwahhh!!! :))
😀 gee! thanks! i will make my mum read this.. she said she was feeling nervous about stitching a frock after so many years fearing i would not like it! haha! now i will make sure she make many more of these! thanks to all of u.. hugs! <3 :*
totally. :)) It reminds me of my mum. She used to knit sweaters for us. She knitted one for me right before I was getting married. It was a part of my trousseau. That’s the most special thing i have from her. :))
aww… 🙂 and whatever they do they do it so perfectly na? such complicated things they can do in a jiffy 😮 the only thing i can knit is a muffler, and that too with a single colored wool. ask me for some designs and u will get ur bag of wool back :-/ 🙁
