Once in a blue moon Shoe Haul
I was skeptical to do a “haul” post since sometimes some people assume it to be “show off” post. But I have learnt a lot about smart shopping from the many haul posts by writers on IMBB, so here goes my first haul post.
When I moved back to India from the US, I could not bring all my shoes, so I had to unfortunately donate them all in the US. And therefore I had self imposed a 2 year shoe buying ban for myself to compensate for all the shoes left off. So at the end of the ban,
when the bf was coming to India from US, I exploited the opportunity and asked him to bring me a few shoes I had ordered online. I had planned to buy 1-2 pairs of good nude colored heel shoes which are so difficult to find here but ended up ordering completely different set of shoes. This was also the first time I ordered shoes online. Since I was taking a risk, all the shoes I ordered were each under $20-$25, thanks to online sales.
The first one are basic black 4 inch heel strappy shoes which I plan to wear with white capris. They fit well and are really comfortable.
The next pair are cute satin blue lace ballet flats shoes. They are really cute and are the first ballet flats that I have owned in a long time. And being flats, they are really comfortable.
This pair is a high heeled(5.25 inches) gold glittery shoes which I would have never bought usually, but maybe it was the online shopping or the effect from a long shoe ban, but I bought these anyways. But I loved them when I got them, they are not that chunky glittery, and great to wear for parties and diwali. But one must be sure not to have “dhinchak” shiny disco ball type clothes along with these shoes or else it really look way too much. These are high, one must be comfortable walking in them(need a bit of practice).
This pair of black heels(5 inches) I have a little doubt about, I wish it had studs only on the heel, I think the studs on the sides maybe look a bit too much. But compared to the other high heels, this one is comfortable because of the sturdy sole.
And last but not least, my favorite ones. I always wanted to wear the spiky heels from Christian Louboutin but they were so damn expensive and my conscience would not let me spend thousands of dollars on one pair of shoes, even if by some miracle I had that kind of money. So when I saw these knocks off, I quickly ordered them. I really love them, they are high(5.25 inches) and like all things in life, the most uncomfortable of all these shoes but I wore them a few times(I get very strange stares from old people when I wear them 🙂 ).
Overall I loved the shoes I ordered, and the bf for packing an extra suitcase just to bring them over. I am over 5 feet 4 inches so the very high heels make me almost 6 feet-ish tall, which is fine when I am with my much taller dad but otherwise makes me look too tall among others. So those heels are good for rare outings.
Anyways after this shopping, I have commenced my year long shoe buying ban, God give me strength!
