I am so happy to share a new lipstick from one of my favourite lipstick brands Chambor. Recently, I noticed some new lipsticks at the Chambor counter in Shopper’s Stop. I love this brand and often purchase makeup from there; and I quickly swatched a few shades at the counter. Many lipsticks were out of stock but this subtle red lipstick with shade number “606” caught my attention. Take a look:

My Experience with Chambor Silk Wrap Lipstick Shade 606:
I am over the moon about this lipstick. I like how they have named it beautifully. They have captured the best from powder matte lipsticks and added some smooth moisture finish to this lipstick range. What you get is a smooth, soft, creamy but not thick, pigmented, semi-matte lipstick that stays put and never bleeds. The moisture element in the lipstick is subtle; it does not add too much shine to the lips, yet works to keep lips soft and subtle.
The pigmentation is good, if not the best. I like how the shape of the bullet is like the powder matte ones from Chambor. The lipstick feels very smooth to use, goes opaque in one swipe and comes very true to the color in the tube. This red is very subtle, it has gorgeous orange tones to it but warm complexions can rock such shades. This can be your “anytime red lipstick” since it is not too bright. I can see that this lipstick smoothens the fine lines on the lips.
It keeps lips supple and the lasting power on me is more than 5 hours and also it never bleeds. What else can I ask for 😛
I want to add in a word about the poor scent that they have added to this lipstick. It smells like old powder matte lipsticks which used to smell like incense sticks, and it’s quite nauseating for me. Apart from that, I find the packaging very unattractive with the whole blue plastic case.
Pros of Chambor Silk Wrap Lipstick Shade 606:
- Beautiful subtle red lipstick with some orange tones.
- Smoothens lip lines.
- Pigmented, true to the color in the tube.
- Lasts very long.
- Great for warm skin tones.
- Semi-matte finish with some moisture to it.
Cons of Chambor Silk Wrap Lipstick Shade 606:
- Smells like incense, I hate it.
- I find the packaging unattractive.
- The shape of the bullet is not a favourite of mine.
- Expensive when Maybelline offers more at lesser price.
Would I Repurchase/Recommend Chambor Silk Wrap Lipstick Shade 606?
For sure, they have nailed the semi-matte finish with some moisture. I love the shade as well, but the scent needs to go!
