Collistar Rossetto Design Lipstick – #11 Scarlatto Review

Hello IMBB beauties,

Today, I am going to review Collistar #11 Scarlatto lipstick. Let me first introduce you all to this brand.

Collistar has been sold since 1997 in Europe, then in the Middle and Far East, and finally South America, with particular focus on the large international chains and the most prestigious department stores and travel retail. In 2011, the first branch was opened in Holland, Collistar Nederland BV, with a presence in more than 500 stores. In July 2012, Collistar continued its strong expansion in the Far East, opening in China. It is the most recent in a long string of successes. In 2013 it was the turn of another important market: Germany. Collistar today is a company with a presence in over 40 countries, with the same formula and the same unwavering success with the public.  You can visit their website for more details about the brand and various range of products that they have to offer, from make-up, hair care, fragrance, treatments, skin care they are everywhere. Sadly, they have not yet arrived in India but as it says never lose hope. My mum recently visited Malaysia and this is one more gift for me. Read on to know more about the particular shade of lipstick #11 Scarlatto.

Product Description:

  • Perfectly defined lips.
  • Hyper-sensory texture.
  • Ultra-thin film with immediate release of color.

Much more than a simple cosmetic creation. A contemporary icon of style. A lipstick with an irresistible appeal and an exclusive, glamorous design, in which every detail has been studied to create a small Made in Italy masterpiece.

Collistar #11 Scarlatto’s packaging is out of the world. As per the website, it is futuristic and I agree completely to that. It is a twisted golden body with the base colorfully transparent. To say it looks gorgeous would be an understatement. The outer paper carton looks luxurious in white and gold combination. The top shuts with a click and not only it is travel friendly, it can be a conversation starter in a gang of girls. The shade name and number is mentioned on a sticker at the bottom of the lipstick.

Collistar #11 Scarlatto comes in a very light on the lips.  It is creamy to apply but forms only a thin layer of color on the lips, so people who feel uncomfortable with the overtly creamy lipsticks and still do not want dry lips can vouch on this. I believe the satin range from MAC can be compared to this.

Pigmentation is awesome. One swipe deposits enough color to cover pigmented lips, though you can build up the color as per your liking but for me one swipe is good enough as this is a bold shade.

Staying Power:

Stays on for 3-4 hours without meals. This is pretty creamy but does not completely disappear with food/drink. There is a lovely stain that stays back.

My Experience with Collistar Rossetto Design Lipstick – #11 Scarlatto:

You know the feeling of getting gifts of your choice, don’t you? Well, cosmetics as gift can be the best to lure me for sure. This brand and shade are both new to me, so I could not be more excited than I am now. Firstly, I hesitate to pick up bold shades because most of the times I prefer neutrals for everyday and I am not much into big parties. So, this shade was an addition to the very poor range of bold lipsticks in my stash.

The best part about this lipstick is the fine texture. You have to apply it to believe how lightweight it is. Feels like nothing on the lips and yet you have moisturized lips.  There is no tugging or pulling while applying the lipstick and it is really forgiving when it comes to the condition of the lips.  It will not settle into fine lines or focus on your chapped lips. I can be super lazy at times and this can be my friend still.

The shade is orange red. Very different from the reds that we get in drugstore brands. I rarely spot such bright yet wearable reds in everyday brands. So all in all this is a winner for me. Check the lip swatch for better understanding.

RM 65, equals to Rs. 1300/-
