My Experience with Elemis Advanced Brightening Even Tone Serum
So, like I have always mentioned in all of my reviews I have really really sensitive skin which does not take time into full blown acne, if not taken care of. When I was about 16, I faced a lot of issues with acne, yes my hormones were going bonkers and I was left with a lot of esteem killing breakouts. However, over the course of few years, they have managed to calm down. But if the skin is not happy, I start encountering a few of those memories once again on my face in physical sense.
Anyway, because of these full blown breakout sessions. I was left with some scars and basically slightly uneven skin tone. My mother and grandmother are big big big believers in the use of natural ‘totkas’ (methods) to achieve an even skin tone. I too have started believing in them after see in visible results of multani mitti. However, I decided to purchase this newly launched product by Elemis which claimed to correct imperfections on the skin as well as provide me with a brighter skin tone.
The product comes in a gorgeous powder blue/lavender-ish metallic bottle, with silver linings around it. The packaging is clean and sophisticated like all Elemis products and definitely looks like a luxury product when held in my hand. Moreover, it comes in a pump, yay!! Which is absolutely great as it serves my hygiene obsession perfectly. The pump is covered by a small plastic cover, which is really fragile. This is something I don’t particularly like since I wish it was at least good quality plastic, or some what sturdy. This reminded me of the plastic that came with Barbie doll packaging. However, I can still live with it and don’t think of it as the end of the Elemis world.
Now the serum itself, is white in colour and has a light gel like consistency. It sort of reminds me of the Clarins HydraQuench Lotion. I was fearing that it would cause me more breakouts, if it irritated my skin, but I guess the light consistency as saved my skin immensely. So the serum, is light weight, glides easily and non-greasy upon application, it basically is absorbed by the skin really quickly. The directions ask you to apply underneath a moisturiser, and even after I do apply a moisturiser on top, I do not feel heavy or uncomfortable and my skin is far from being sticky.
Coming to the effects of the serum, I have now used this serum for a month. Obviously initially I saw no sort of change to my uneven skin tone and was pretty disappointed. However, what I did see in the first initial weeks was a relatively brighter and radiant looking complexion on my face. I was pretty patient with this product though, I applied it every night with due diligence. I guess I should have applied it both during the day and night, but I only chose to apply it at night since I don’t like using too many products as I step out of the house. However by the end of the month, I can tell you this, I have seen slight improvement in the pigmentation caused by my subtle scars. The thing is you see, I don’t have much pigmentation. But wherever I do have it, I could definitely see a slight improvement. Therefore I am going to keep continuing with this serum, to see if I have any further changes or thats how far it can go in terms of correction.
I would say, this is a great sort of serum for the brightening of your skin and making it look more wide awake. But you have to be super patient if you are seeking for a product to eradicate your pigmentation. Also, I dont think this would work much wonders on people who have very heavy pigmentation. For those lovely ladies, I would definitely suggest using packs of Multani Mitti and rose water, it does WONDERS!

Would I repurchase Elemis Advanced Brightening Even Tone Serum?
I am still waiting to see the effects it has on me after another month, and I still have not used the bottle. So probably not, if I see no changes.
