My Experience with Estee Lauder White Linen Eau de Parfum Spray:
It comes packaged in a curved rectangle shaped clear glass bottle with a golden coloured cap which is covered with a self- textured plastic. This elegant bottle comes packed in a white coloured box with navy blue border. The packaging is quite travel-friendly.
I love wearing perfumes and usually they are gifted to me. I am a total perfume freak and love buying miniature perfume sets and keep asking for testers at the counters and then buy the normal size if the perfume is appealing. I also like carrying miniature perfume bottles in my bag as they come handy, instead of a full sized bottle. Last year I purchased a miniature perfume set from Estée Lauder and loved each one of them. I actually wanted to buy Estée Lauder Pure White Linen Eau De Parfum and since it was not available, the sales lady convinced me to go for Estée Lauder White Linen Eau De Parfum Spray.
It’s a floral fragrance built on harmony of aldehydes, flowers, wood, amber and musk, hence can be labelled as floral-aldehyde. It’s an intense fragrance built on elegance of white flowers and green notes and evokes the crispness and coolness of white flowers and fresh greenery. Bulgarian rose, violet and orris blossoms lend a natural floral elegance to the perfume.
White Linen is the calming element that can lift spirits and make a woman feel cool and calm, is the claim; but not for me. It’s a beautiful fragrance and it’s like everlasting on your skin and outfits. It does not wear out or evaporate easily. Fragrance clings and stays, even after sweating or having a shower. It’s something you can wear in the morning, sweat, shower and yet feel it on your body the next day. The fragrance lingers on and on.
This beautiful fragrance does not sing along my body chemistry so well, unlike Estee Lauder Pure White Linen Eau De Parfum, with which I had fallen for and wanted to buy. There is something heavy and strong about this scent. Probably some imbalance stage I am going through, that I am not able to state that this perfume is cool, crisp and refreshing to my body chemistry. I find it heavy and strong, especially in summers. I feel spring and winter would be a better season for me to finish this bottle.
In fact even this year, I picked the same Estée Lauder miniature perfume set from the duty free shop which has Estée Lauder Pure White Linen and cherished every moment using it. Of course names are similar but notes are very different; Pure White Linen is fruity floral and White Linen is floral-aldehyde dominated by amber, moss, violet, orris and vetiver. The floral fragrance of fresh flowers, are hardly noticeable to my senses and is lost in the heavy and woody essences of violet and orris; dominance and key role is played by the everlasting amber and woody moss and vetiver. In my opinion, the middle and base notes dominates the fragrance and a person like me who love perfumes, where florals and fruity form the heart of the fragrance, should have checked the notes and ingredients, before getting carried off. Overall it’s a classic perfume and brings back memories of Nina Ricci L’air Du Temps and Chanel No.22, which I have used and loved to the core.
