Kylie Cosmetics Literally Gloss Review

Hi everybody,

If there is one brand of cosmetics that I wanted to get my hands on, like none other brand, and it’s got to be Kylie Cosmetics. The lip products, to be specific, are rave-worthy and I’d been longing forever to place my first order on Kylie Cosmetics’ website and that I did. So, I ordered a bunch of liquid lipsticks – Candy K, Koko K and True Brown K along with a lip gloss in the shade “Literally.” So, let’s see how this gloss fared for me.

Product Description:
Kylie created the #KylieCosmetics Gloss as another secret weapon to help you create the perfect “Kylie Lip.” Literally is a neutral mid-tone n*de. This ultra-pigmented, lustrous gloss glides on the lips smoothly and evenly leaving behind a luminous and voluminous effect. A blend of vitamin E and highly emollient ingredients provide hydration and moisturize the lips, while natural lip enhancers provide volume. The gloss has an even and saturated application that delivers a long lasting brilliantly glossy end look.
Wear alone, with your favorite lip pencils or layer on top of your favorite matte.

My Experience with Kylie Cosmetics Literally Gloss:

Packaging:: The packaging of Kylie Cosmetics’ lip glosses is exactly like that of the liquid lipsticks and it is AH-MAZINGGG! It is definitely one of the prettiest things in my makeup drawer. The tube is made of really nice and luxe-looking plastic. The brush has a black handle. The gloss is pretty travel friendly though this gloss comes under the category of my “special-occasions-makeup,” so I’ll not really keep it in my bag for everyday use, for obvious reasons. The brush it comes with has smooth bristles; however, I’m not really a fan of the brush. It’s a little hard to apply the product with the brush it comes with because I personally prefer those doe-shaped lip gloss brushes, but gotta wing it with the brush it comes with. Haha!

Texture and Shade:  The gloss “Literally” is a beautiful n*de brown that really complements my skin tone and looks stunning when worn with full face of makeup and a smokey eye. It brings out the eye makeup even more and goes with pretty much everything. The lip gloss however has a fruity, almost bubblegum-like scent that I don’t like at all. Good thing though that the scent subsides after like 45 seconds of applying it.

The gloss is brilliant in terms of pigmentation. When worn over a lip liner of a lipstick, one swipe is more than enough, but even when worn on its own, the pigmentation is commendable. It is hands-down the most pigmented lip gloss I have ever used in my life. The texture of this lip gloss is smooth and it glides on to the lips easily. It is easy to apply but can look a little tacky sometimes if lips are not properly prepped before hand. I find that this lip gloss is a little sticky when you apply it; however once it sets, it doesn’t feel sticky at all.

Longevity:  This lip gloss definitely stays on me for good 5+ hours with no/light meals, all thanks to the brilliant pigmentation. Considering it’s a lip gloss, it definitely does transfer but it doesn’t transfer like crazy, like most glosses I’ve used in the past do. I think it’s a pretty good product, considered the price point and the quality.

Pros of Kylie Cosmetics Literally Gloss:

  • Justifiable price for the quality it delivers, considering most good high-end lip glosses to it can be compared too are way, way expensive than this one.
  • Pigmentation is brilliant. Only one swipe and you’re good to go.
  • Stays on for almost 5 hours if you go without meals.
  • Smooth texture.
  • Everyday kind of n*de brown that would suit most skin tones if paired properly with the rest of the makeup.
  • Love the stylish packaging of this lip gloss.

Cons of Kylie Cosmetics Literally Gloss:

  • Ordering this lip gloss is quite a hassle.
  • It’s mostly out of stock.
  • Could be a little expensive if you feel spending $15 on a lip gloss is a little too much
  • I don’t like the scent at all.
  • It feels a little sticky when you first apply it.
  • I don’t find the brush that it comes with that good.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase Kylie Cosmetics Literally Gloss?
