My birthday makeup, beauty and gifts Haul
The month of December brings in another season of fun and frolic after the mid October-November Puja and Diwali festivals. With my birthday on 10th December, things just get better with liberal patronage from Dad and my elder brother, who pamper me a lot. My mom however strongly dislikes my wardrobe which she says-is slowly turning into a crazy makeup showcase :D.
So this year, with me totally smitten by makeup and beauty stuff (thanks to IMBB) I couldn’t ask for anything else except more of these stuff. I could convince Mom to buy me some and bro to send in some cash and with that I had my birthday haul. However, Dad’s gift was real big and I will reveal it at the end.
Here’s a glimpse of my birthday haul:
1) Vega Large Powder brush
2) Vega powder brush (but this actually would suit applying blush with)
3) Vega Angular Blender brush
4) Vov Soft light eyeshadow No. 003
5) Avene eyeshadow No. 006
6) Lotus Herbals Floral glam lipstick
7) Lotus Herbals Pure color lipstick
8) Two pairs of sunglasses
9) Some movie cds
10) Some jewellery
With still some money left had a great party with friends and caught a movie . 🙂

Vega Large Powder Brush:
This is a really BIG brush with tightly packed smooth bristles. I think the bristle hairs are synthetic however they are soft and blend Oh! so well. Off course I didn’t buy if to buff powder on my face –but rather to blend makeup in some of my problem areas like hairline, jawline and chin –where I usually leave streaks of foundation which looks so baaaad in photos ☹. The price is amazingly Rs 175 and this brush has temporarily satisfied my airbrushed-look fantasy (I want a buffer or flat topped kabuki next). It rate this 4/5
Vega Powder Brush:
It looks like the younger sister of the BIG brother powder brush ☺ It is as effective as its sibling. I use it as a blusher brush. It takes up the right amount of blusher and blends effortlessly (after buying I remembered I already have the Oriflame powder brush which I use for blusher as well ☹). Fibers are pretty densely packed. Again I rate it 4/5. Price as far I remember is somewhat above Rs 100.
Vega Angular Blender Brush (price around Rs 70)
I got this for smudging kohl and also for blending eyeshadows near the corner. It’s very sharp yet smooth and has tightly packed bristles. Sorry can’t rate it till I actually use it . 🙁
Vov & Avene eyeshadow: (Price Rs 125 each)
In the store where mom bought me the brushes-I spotted a very cute pot and saw its VOV. I only read about it in IMBB-saw swatches but didn’t know that stores in Kolkata stock them.
Along with this I saw a pot of lovely metallic grey powder and picked up this pot of Avene powder shadow. Haven’t heard of this brand but simply loved the color. After another 15 minutes of “Mom Mom please please”-finally got these two.
The colors are lovely. The Vov crème shadow is a pretty metallic peach in color and very pigmented. The Avene shadow is the most beautiful shade of metallic /silvery grey I ever saw but it falls out like crazy since it’s a very fine powder. Gotta find some way to use this properly. I rate these two 3.5/5
Lotus Floral Glam Lipstick: (Shade: Pristine Maroon Price Rs 345)
This lipcolor has been reviewed here on IMBB. The lipstick is very soft and doesn’t leave the lips dry even though its matte. The color is just beautiful. Rating: 4/5
Lotus Pure color Lipstick (Shade : Peach Crème , price Rs 245) Thaaank you Rati soo much for reviewing this lipstick on IMBB-this lipstick is in my favorite shade and texture and gives such a nice finish!! There are many alluring shades and I just got one this time 🙁 Cant wait to grab more. Rating 5/5
Sunglasses & Jewellery:
Got the sunglasses from Big Bazaar. I don’t wear shades but these are my current favorites:). The jewellery shopping wasn’t much-but two lovely bangles and a neckpiece-earring set.
The outing with friends was really special and we enjoyed every moment of it. They gave me lovvveely gifts too.

noo..its Nikon L110..12MP, 15X optical zoom..Dad asked me to go for one..but I said for a beginner like me this is more than enough..and guess wat.. I am so in awe of the thing that I aint taking it out of the box till I get the manual by heart.. :starving: :starving: :shame: :shame:

ya..thats exactly why I dint want an expensive cam (my budget was around 10K) because 90% of the photos will either have me or cats in them (thats according to me is nature phtography) :toothygrin: :toothygrin:

The Vega Angular brush is great…….I use it for applying shadow on the lower lash line……
I have seen stores in shyambazaar selling lotus lipsticks, almost entire range of lotus make up items. do not remember the shops name though. I had gone there to spend vactation to my mom’s place and while during a shopping spree, happened to see them 🙂
I bought this lippy after cursing myself..2 days before I got the floral glam but this color was so awwsum that I closed my eyes and said” ok last one this year” and went for it.. :toothygrin: :toothygrin:

Ya.actually me too wanted the sleek ones that easily fits in handbags..but Dad’s colleague said that for good outdoor photography you needa have some 10X optical zoom..I am a fan of abstract photography so Dad said when you are buying..get something for all the purposes so that you can be happy widdit for at least 5 years 🙂 🙂
