Maybelline Fit Me Shine Free Stick Foundation Stick Review

Maybelline Fit Me Shine Free Stick Foundation Stick Review

Hello everyone,

How are you lovely ladies doing? I am back with another review, this time it’s a new foundation I got about a month ago and have been using it quite often so that I could give a fair opinion about it. Sometimes using a product just once or twice may not give us an accurate idea about it, so just to be fair, I prefer using any product for ample time before writing about it.  Anyway, this is a foundation stick called Maybelline Fit Me Shine-Free Foundation.  Who does not like products that can be applied easily? So, I went ahead and bought this one because it’s a foundation stick for oily skin.  Let’s find out how well this one fares?

My Experience with Maybelline Fit Me Shine Free Stick Foundation Stick:

My skin is extremely oily and acne prone, so this product had me intrigued when I saw it is a gel stick with an anti-shine core which is supposed to dissolve excess oil from the skin. It sounds like a dream come true for someone who deals with oily skin on a daily basis. The shade I found closest to my skin tone is 240 Golden Beige.  It is a little lighter for me but I can work with it. I am NC42 in MAC. Choosing a perfect shade might be difficult as it is hard to understand the undertones through the packaging.

The website says you should apply it to your face and blend evenly with your fingertips. I glide the product directly from the tube and then use my Sigma F80 to blend it for even coverage. It feels very smooth, gives cream to powdery finish and blends beautifully; the gel texture feels nice and natural on the skin. The finish is not completely matte, its semi matte, I would say. The coverage is pretty sheer; it evens out my skin tone but does not cover my dark spots very well. The solution is that it is buildable and applying a second coat will help with the coverage without making it look cakey. I have not had any break outs with this one which is a huge plus.

Now about the oil control, it does not help me in any way. After applying the foundation, my skin gets very shiny in just 2-3 hours. Applying a primer before and powdering my face after the foundation helps with the oil control, but I was hoping the powders in the anti-shine core would do their job as the company claims. Just for reference, I want to tell you guys that Revlon Colorstay for combination/oily skin is my Holy Grail foundation from the drugstore brands. It works amazingly well on my skin in controlling oil. I am yet to find a drugstore foundation that works better for me.

This review is for my oily skin type but I feel this foundation can work fabulously for all those with combination skin or even dry skin girls if you use this on well-moisturized skin. I love how convenient it is to apply. It can work as an everyday foundation. Give this a try 🙂

  1. Stick foundations and compact foundations somehow never give enough coverage. And they kind of rub off easily from my oily skin.

But this is such a honest nice review 🙂

  2. thanks for the review isha, i was waiting for the review because i was willing to have a matte oil control foundation but this doesn’t seem to fulfill my requirements though it seemed to…. u should try try Bourjois 123 perfect foundation or merle norman lasting foundation, over the years …. i found these 2 to work great for oil control…
