Hello all!

My Experience with Maybelline Lip Studio Orange Ya Glad Color Blur Cream Matte Pencil and Smudger:
Packaging:
The lip pencil comes in a slender stick format which is thinner than the average lipstick, but not as thin as a lip liner. The packaging is bright and colorful and quite attractive. It has a color side which houses the actual lip product. This side is retractable and you don’t need to bother about a sharpener. The narrow lip product makes the application easy and precise especially in areas like the Cupid’s bow and inner corners of the mouth.
But, the USP of this range is the soft silicone applicator at the other end of the pencil. The idea is to use the applicator to blur/smudge the product to create a softer, lesser pigmented look or an ombre or gradient look. Honestly, I did not find much use of the applicator. I mean, you can always use your finger or a tissue paper if you intend to blur out the application a bit. But, I guess it is a matter of personal choice to use or not to use the smudger. The packaging also a small diagram depicting how to use the smudger to create a gradient look. Both the sides have caps which shut tight. The packaging is quite sturdy and travel friendly.
Shade/Pigmentation:
Orange Ya Glad, as the name suggests, is a bright orange which is slightly leaning towards red. This is a cheery shade which would suit most skin tones and is a fun shade to rock during summers. The lip pencil is strongly pigmented and imparts a bright pop of orange in a single swipe. But, if you do not prefer a full on intense bold look, you can use the smudger to create a softer look.
Texture/Finish:
The formula is creamy and the lip pencil glides easily on the lips. Since this is a matte pencil, it has a velvety powder like finish with no shine. It does not cake or settle in the lip lines. The product feels soft and luxurious on the lips. Despite being a matte finish, it wears comfortably and does not feel very drying. But, this lip product is not moisturising, so I would suggest that dry lipped beauties use a lip balm underneath.
Lasting Power:
The lasting power on the lip pencil is pretty good and it easily stays put for around 5-6 hrs with light meals. It does transfer to cups and glasses. Since this is a bright shade, it leaves a stain behind. You need a makeup remover to remove all traces of this lipstick.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Maybelline Lip Studio Orange Ya Glad Color Blur Cream Matte Pencil and Smudger?
Yes, you can surely try this lip pencil if you are looking for a gorgeous orange color. The smudger adds uniqueness to the whole package and can be used to create some fun looks. I would love to try other shades from the range.
It seems very much like The wow stick by Makeup Revolution, but it does not have a smudger. I don’t think it’s going to get launched in India anytime soon, would will try it if it does. I like the shade, it’s pretty wearable even without smudging. You select some of the best shades Manaswini.
I agree, Shikha.. I like it better without the smudging.. Thanks for the compliment.
