NARS Laos Matte Multiple Review
Product Purchased by IMBB
Give me anything coral and I am all over it. Nothing compliments my medium-tan skin like a peachy/coral blush or a coral lip product. One such super awesome recent pick is the NARS Matte Multiple in the shade “Laos.” Let’s find out why it’s awesome.
Product Description:
Next Wave Makeup Artistry for Lips and Cheeks. Vibrant pops and sensual sun-kissed modern matte hues for lips and cheeks. Used dry it delivers a burst of high-impact color; used wet, color melts into skin with an imperceptibly smooth, sheer finish.
How To Use:
Dry Application: High-Impact Finish
- Apply directly from the stick to cheeks or lips and blend with finger tips.
- May also be applied by tapping Matte Multiple with fingertips and blending product onto cheeks or lips.
Wet Application: Sheer Finish
- Dampen finger tips, then tap Matte Multiple and blend product onto cheeks or lips for an ultra smooth, second-skin effect.
My Experience with NARS Laos Matte Multiple:
Initially, I wasn’t really intrigued by the NARS Matte Multiples until I tried them at the store. The shade Laos immediately caught my eyes. After swatching it on my hands, I totally fell in love with it.
NARS Matte Multiples comes in a chubby stick with the product in a flat bullet form. You can toss it in a purse for touch ups (you probably might not need touch ups with this product) or in a travel bag.
The shade Laos is described as a “rose coral” color and I think it is a pretty apt description of the shade. Generally, pinks look good on lighter skin tones and peaches and coral look good on tanned skin. I love how this shade shows up on my skin.
It is super pigmented and I just need one swipe to get a vibrant color on my cheeks. You can take the product on your finger and apply for lesser intensity. I swipe it once on the apple of the cheeks and blend it towards my temple with my fingers. It blends like a dream, leaving an even color on the cheeks. If your skin tone is light, I would suggest applying very little in the beginning and then building up the intensity slowly as desired.
It feels super soft after application and sets within minutes. Once set, it stays on me for 6-7 hours before showing signs of fading. On a good skin day, I apply this just on moisturized skin and it looks super pretty and stays well. It does not disturb the foundation or powder underneath. Since this product doesn’t need a separate brush, it would make a great travel product.
I am not impressed with its performance as a lip product. It clings to even the teeny tiny bit of dry skin on my lips making it look patchy. It makes my already dry lips a bit more dry. Also, it settle in the fine lines.
I tried using it as eye shadow and it creases like crazy in no time. If you top it with a powder product, you may improve the staying power as an eye shadow.
Overall, I love this product as a cream blush but not as a lip product.

Cons of NARS Laos Matte Multiple:
- I wouldn’t accept it as a multipurpose product *nonono*
- Accentuates dryness and lines on the lips.
- Feels dry on the lips.
- Settles into the lip lines.
IMBB Rating:
4.75/5 (-.25 for marketing as multi purpose product *smug* )
Final Thought:
Most products marketed as multipurpose turn out to be good for just one kind of use and it’s the same with this one as well, but it’s definitely a super awesome cheek product. I say, do give this a shot, I am sure you will love it!
No cheek and lip products have worked for me. 🙁 But the color looks gorgeous and will look healthy on lips if it had worked.

Soooo pretty. 🙂 But I agree, the multiples don’t perform so well on the lips and eyes. They should just call these cream blushes. 🙂
I second you Ida 🙂
