For our moms, lipstick shades were limited to just pinks, maroons and reds.  If you had these three colors, there was no need to buy anymore lipsticks. There was no concept of n*e lipstick at that time – neither did they know about anything like MLBB shade, but for us, there is nothing like “too many lipsticks :P” We buy all the shades and sub-shades of each color and we keep looking for that perfect shade that would look equally good on us as it looked on the model on some random magazine. So, the lipstick I am going to review for all of you today is a MLBB/n*de shade, which would be a perfect one for most of the skin tones.  Hold on to find more.

My Experience with NARS Lipstick Tolede:

Tolede is a Spanish word which is the name of a place in Spain.  Thinking of Spain reminds me of bullfighting, Tomato festival, and tap dancers sporting red lips, but now it will also remind me of perfect n*de lips.  Yes, Tolede is my perfect n*de lipstick, finally!! This is such a beautiful pink which is not girly yet feminine.  It’s a n*de without an overdose of brown, which makes this a perfect n*de lip shade against my yellow undertone skin. I have pigmented lips, so most of the n*de shades or light shade lip colors look different on my lips than they are in the tube, which is a very frustrating and disappointing thing.  But this shade stays true to its color, be it in the tube or on my lips. It’s highly pigmented, gives full coverage, and still feels light on my lips.

This semi-matte formula turns more matte on the lips after 20-30 minutes of application.  It still feels soft on lips like any other moisturizing lip color – no dry feeling at all. Most of the time, n*de shades or light shades don’t last long, but this one is an exception.  It lasts for almost the entire day on my lips.  It survives drinks, snacks, meals, etc.

After 8 hours (breakfast, coffee and lunch), it still stays visible on my lips. Even when it fades away, it does so evenly, does not leave any ugly patches.  Though it’s expensive, with all these qualities, it feels like an investment.  I highly recommend this to all the girls, this is the perfect n*de lipstick for all skin tones.

Though I never repurchase lip color as I want to explore new shades, but I might change my mind for this one!
