I believe lipsticks are a girl’s second best friend (of course, diamonds are the first). So I’m reviewing one of my new lipsticks (read: best friend, LOL) today and it’s by NYX from the Extra Creamy Round Lipsticks range and the shade is Haute Melon.

My take on NYX extra round lipstick in Haute Melon:

Like I already said in my previous post on NYX round lipsticks, the price was the first thing that attracted me to these lipsticks. These are so, so affordable. And not just affordable, these have a brilliant formula too.

The NYX round lipstick comes in an all-black packaging which looks kind of cute. Like I said before, the plastic it’s made of looks cheap and fragile, but considering the price it comes at, I can do with a bad packaging too. LOL. It has a color indicator at the bottom which is really helpful if you own more shades from the same range (at least it helps me in sorting out the shades).

The lipstick Haute Melon is a true melon coral color and has a shimmery effect. it’s a totally gorgeous coral color and since I have a new-found love for coral and orange lipsticks, this one just went to the top of that list! I’m sure, this is one color that will suit “all” skin tones and look totally gorgeous on everyone.

The texture of the lipstick, as the name suggests, is very creamy. Since summer is almost here and layering lips with too many lip products isn’t the best idea, I’d say this is just the perfect lipstick for the season since it so creamy that it almost nullifies the need for a lip balm. Whew! It feels very light on lips. It glides onto my lips smoothly provided I’ve properly scrubbed my lips in advance else it settles into lines on lips and looks awkward.

The pigmentation is remarkable! All you need are two swipes, and your lips are gorgeous coral in color. The lipstick stays on me for 4 hours easily, with light meals, and then it starts to fade. Also, it is smudge proof so whether you wear a gloss or not, the lipstick remains as it is. Haute Melon is actually one of the most gorgeous melon-coral lipsticks out there! 😀

• Settles into lines on lips
• It’s so creamy, I fear it might melt after some time.
Will I repurchase this/ do I recommend it?
I will definitely repurchase this shade again and I recommend it to all those who like coral lippies.
