Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick 008 Review

I found this shade in a pharmacy about a month ago and when I swatched it, I was amazed at the colour. It was the perfect everyday colour I wanted to buy.

Packaging: The packaging is really cool, retro and sort of modern at the same time. It comes with a very cool design near its logo and houses a mirror on one side. The size of the mirror is absolutely perfect. You can see the entirety of your lip in the mirror as you are applying the product. That makes it very unique and extremely travel-friendly and ready-on-the-go type product. I use it to check up on my eye makeup as well. I wish all lipsticks had the mirror on them! The packaging of the actual lipstick is bullet-form rather than the traditional form. There is 3.8 g of product in the lipstick.

Shade:  The shade is described as a nostalgic soft red on their website. In the store, the shade just said 008. I would describe it as a classic pink shade. This is the perfect shade for every day. You can pair it with any bright/dramatic eye look and it won’t take the focus off the eyes. The pigmentation is pretty decent, but you have to build it up a little.  The line up has 8 colors – from oranges to pinks to reds.

Feel on the lips: It feels amazing on the lips, it is very creamy and easy to apply. This does not accentuate my dry patches, and so I do not bother exfoliating before using this. It does not feel heavy or weird (like some glosses for me) on the lips, rather feels like a lip balm. It is unscented. The product is very soft, so you have to be careful not to press it too much or you will dent it.

Staying Power:  This does stay on like any other lipstick. It disappears after eating/drinking. You have to reapply at that time. It does not fade weirdly, which some lipsticks do.
