In dull rainy days only thing which cheers up my day are bright nails and nice perfumes. Recently I have done a lot of perfume/EDT/body mist shopping from various brands. I reviewed the Satsuma EDT from the body shop here, which I like a lot. So next time when I went TBS I straight went to perfume section to check some more fragrances. There I saw this small baby on 60% discount, I felt as if it is crying to me “please take me home” and then what happened is history *specs*.
Price: INR 795/- for 30 ml (I got for 60% discount 😀 )

My experience with The Body Shop Vanilla Eau de Toilette:
I am on perfume high these days and maybe that’s why I end up liking sweet smell of vanilla which I don’t used to like before. So to describe the fragrance, it is pure vanilla smell with some coconut and coca undertone to it. It is an incredibly sweet smell, reminds me of freshly backed coconut cookies (any one feeling hungry?? ☺ ) once dried (after 2 hours) it has some woody smell too, and the sweetness reduces a bit this time. Smell is not over powering, initially it smells too sweet but the sweetness reduces as it settles down. People who like complex smell with many undertones and notes might find it boring but people who like simple/natural fragrance will love it a lot. It’s really warm smell and I feel I will be wearing it more during the winters. Also I tried doing mix and match of fragrances and this works wonderfully to tone down very spicy/strong smells.
Coming to staying power its 5-6 hours after which I need to sniff myself to feel this EDT. Even body mists can give this much staying power, and this being costlier them body mist expectation for staying power was more. Packaging is basic glass with tin cap, nothing fancy, but then this makes it good choice to travel with as it’s easy to pack and takes less space.
Pros of Body Shop Vanilla Eau de Toilette:
• Sweet vanilla fragrance, blessing for simple fragrance lovers.
• Warm smell, best for winters.
• Works well to tone down strong smells.
• Not over powering.
• Once settled, sweetness reduces. So not all in all sweet smell.
• Decent staying power.
• Decent packaging, easy to carry around.
• Not tasted on animals.
• No burning on skin/ no stains on cloths.
Cons of Body Shop Vanilla Eau de Toilette:
• Might be very sweet for people who dislike vanilla smell.
• Feels costly for this staying power.
• Can make you feel hungry all the time with such yummy smell on you (kidding :P, but keeps reminding me of cookies and backing)
Final verdict on The Body Shop Vanilla Eau de Toilette : love sweet smelling vanilla fragrance and hate complex smells then get this EDT. Also if you can find it during sales then get this baby home without thinking much, will work well as everyday fragrance.
Will I be repurchasing The Body Shop Vanilla Eau de Toilette : I night try the body mist in same fragrance as that costs less and you get more quantity (staying power is same I guess :P)
