Tweezerman Slant Tweezers Review

Hi Beauties,

Today, I am going to talk about Tweezers. Tweezers are tools used for picking up objects too small to be easily handled with the human hands. These look similar to tongs, which we use to make rotis. In medical terms, these are known as “forceps.” The idea of all these is the same, to hold something which cannot be easily held by bare hands.  The tweezer I will talk about are the ones used in the beauty industry, mainly for plucking out unwanted hair from various parts of the face.  Tweezers make use of two third-class levers connected at one fixed end (the fulcrum point of each lever), with the pincers at the other end.  Tweezers are easily available everywhere in the market. You may get them for as less as Rs. 10/- and it is perfectly okay, as long as it serves the purpose. These are used mainly to remove unwanted hair from eyebrows, upper lips, chin, nose, ears, in-grown hair, in fact, from any part of body you may want to.

Tweezerman Slant Tweezers

I first started using tweezers when I was in college, and I had first started shaping my eyebrows at a salon. Now, what used to happen was that after 3-4 days, small hair used to grow back, and these were really irritating, since I obviously cannot go to the salon for ever new hair growth. So, to cut a long story short, I bought a pair of tweezers, and believe me, it took me some time to get used to it. I have had episodes of pain, not being able to catch hold of the hair, catching a bit of skin along with the hair and so causing cuts, plucking out only a part of the hair leaving a stump behind, multiple attempts over a single hair thereby increasing the agony, tweezers getting dull within a few weeks and therefore ineffective…and what not !!! I have experimented with slant tweezers, pointed tweezers, smaller size mini tweezers and finally gained confidence and a comfort zone using slant tweezers.

I had long heard about this brand, but was simply not interested. The routine drug store ones worked just fine, I thought. A year or so back, I saw this at my relative’s place, used it once, and was amazed with the performance. I asked her about it and she said she had bought it around 6 years back and it worked just fine for her. I was like WHAT!!!!! One tweezer has lasted her 6 years. And she replied, “yeah” and if and when it gets dull, she can send it to the manufacturer to get them sharpened free of cost. I must say…I was totally flabbergasted!!! Can this be really true???

Tips:

To ease tweezing, take a hot shower or use a warm washcloth to open pores. Tweeze in the direction of hair growth to avoid breakage. To close pores post tweezing, use cold water or astringent.  For best results, always tweeze in the direction of hair growth, one hair at a time. This is a precision tool, keep the tips protected and be careful not to drop. This can put tweezers out of alignment.

My Experience with Tweezerman Slant Tweezers:

The product is available in many forms, sizes and colors.  So, choose carefully while buying the product. I wanted a simple slant tweezer, preferably a pink one, but since that color was out of stock, I got the green apple colored slant Tweezerman tweezers.

The size of these tweezers is about 3-3/4th inches in length. They have a shiny coating, available in many colors. These are big enough to be handled easily, but can go up to the roots of the tiniest hair and pluck them out very precisely.  It plucks out even the barely noticeable hair and effectively draws those out too.

The package comes sealed in a plastic casing.  It has all the details written on the packaging itself. The tweezer is normal shape and size like any other tweezer, and the tips come covered with a plastic cap, but as soon as you start using it, you notice the difference right away.  These are the most versatile tweezers I have known, the easiest to use, the easiest to wash, and goes on like butter.

These tweezers are made of stainless steel and are handmade. The two hands of the tweezer are perfectly aligned to each other, so that they can hold even a minute bit of hair very well.I have had alignment issues with so many other tweezers, but these are absolutely and perfectly aligned. They grasp the hair super-fast and tweeze them out very smoothly and accurately.  There is no repeated digging, poking, prodding, as with other tweezers. So, time wise, where I used to take 10-15 minutes with my older ones, this gets the job done in less than 5 minutes.  You may wash it with any disinfectant soap, alcohol or peroxide; without worrying of it getting ruined.

The tweezer tips are sharp, very sharp.  That means you will have to tread carefully at first, but then, it is just a matter of adjusting yourselves from your dull, old tweezers which took simply ages to tweeze and added to the pain; to these new, sharp, almost indestructible tweezers and these do not get dull in a long long time. Even when they get dull, you may always get them sharpened free of cost (but I think I might not get into all that and simply buy a new pair).

Next, they have a nice protective coating, to save your product from damage and the coating does make it easier to hold on to them.

Tweezerman Slant Tweezers

Now, for the main part. I LOVE THESE TWEEZERS.  I have been using them since nearly a year, and these are as sharp now as they were when I first bought them. I use them after taking a shower (as recommended) so that my pores are open.  I usually use these for my eyebrow area and it’s almost pain free, and very precise and fast indeed. The surface area is broad, so I do not need to wipe my tweezer after taking out each new bit of hair. I can easily pluck out 6-7 hair and then wipe off the tip. The hair comes out in total. I do not face any issues of the hair coming off partly, and leaving a little stump behind, or going again and again after the same bit of hair and pulling it ineffectively. Since these are sharp, I used them slowly at first, but now, I am so used to them, it hardly takes me any time at all. I can use it just before leaving for work in the morning, it hardly takes me 2-3 minutes now. These are a permanent part of my bathroom cabinet now.

Would I Recommend Tweezerman Slant Tweezers?

Yes, I will definitely recommend it to each and every one of you. Why? Simply because this works so well. This is the Gold Standard, against which any other tweezer will pale in comparison. These come in many shapes and colors, and have a mini size as well. Hence, you may choose a tweezer according to your own needs. However, for general, everyday kind of use, I would personally recommend the slant tweezers. Having clean and perfectly-shaped eyebrows works wonders for your face; as well as your self-esteem. Though these are initially costly, I still recommend these to you. These are THE BEST available out there, and I never knew what actual quality is, until I started using these. Once you start using these, you will never be able to go back to any other tweezer.

  1. Great pics arpita! I too have a pair of tweezerman and i agree these are the best! The only thing is…these are manufactered in india and we dont get them in india!

  2. Good review, Arpita! 🙂 I do my own brows at home (thread, tweeze and use a pair of scissors), so I do use a tweezer a lot. I agree, slant ones are the easiest to use. When I first started using tweezers, I used to pull the skin as well, and would get tiny cuts. But now, I’ve learned to use them, so no problem. I lost my earlier pair of good tweezers, so now I just use a cheapie one that does the job fine. But oh how I miss my old tweezers! Reading this post reminds me I’ve to buy a good pair again. 🙂

    1. Hey Samantha,

How do you thread your brows yourself? I’ve tried it but my skin always gets pulled, it doesn’t work without stretching. And I can’t stretch my skin when I’m threading myself. Please tell me how you do it. 🙂

      1. Hi Gargi 🙂 I thread the top lines only, tweeze the underneath and then I trim the hairs with scissors. The skin on top doesn’t need to be stetched, which makes it easy to thread there and get a nice, clean line. I can’t thread the underneath on my own – I used to, when I first started out, but I would get cuts from not being able to stretch the skin. That’s why I tweeze there. Hope this helps 🙂

        1. Hi Samantha…. Grt to know u can thread ur eyebrows urself….. I cant…. Never even tried to…. Find it very intimidating

        2. Okay I get it. Thanks a lot, it surely helped 🙂 I hate monthly visits to salon and hence, I prefer doing them myself 😀

  3. Looks really good. I bought a pair from QVS recently and realized the importance of a good twizzer 😀 I struggled a lot with my previous one *ghost*

  4. A perfect one Arpita, you know i own a tweezers just for plucking a dark black hair that grows on my chin once a while, as soon as it appears, i get hold of them 😀 because i have a childhood wound scar on left eyebrow so cant go fro eyebrow plucking and Allah has shaped them acceptably too….well written and different review…btw what are you by profession…

    1. Hi Sumera…. *thankyou* dear…. And u r indeed lucky that God has gifted u with well maintained eyebrows….. I am a doctor …. An anesthetist by profession…. And now thnx to IMBB, a part time blogger too
