Bath and Body Works Black Amethyst Body Lotion is Great for Gifting

Bath and Body Works Black Amethyst Body Lotion Review

Wow so here we go, Hi all fellow IMBBians, I’m Jasmine. 🙂

This is my very first article and I am super excited to be here to share this love with you all, like super excited.

So I’ll start off by reviewing the Bath and Body Works Black Amethyst Body Lotion. By looking at my dresser it seems (without realising) I’ve turned out to be a fan of anything to do with Bath and Body Works. Their fragrances are just contagious and the given names are just so intriguing. Plainly irresistible and easily making my choice of product to review first.

BBW body lotion

I had this purchased for me from Dubai as the imported prices in India are hard to justify. I have the smaller bottle (88ml/3 FL OZ) than the standard which, does not come with any product description. Other than stating it has vitamin e, jojoba and shea butter. Thankfully, other IMBB reviews from the same collection have it down pact and informed me what I should expect.

My take on Bath and Body Works Black Amethyst Body Lotion:

With BBW products I’ve never had an issue with spillage and cracking, the packaging is very convenient and most of all reliable. This bottle itself is small and sturdy, most ideal for travelling. The colour purple and black looks catchy to the eye, a very sophisticated look with the splash of gold. There is no product description that makes you want to feel amazing on using it. The labeling has only ingredients listed, leaving a lot to the imagination, so I’ll have a go here for you to fill in the gaps. 🙂 On smelling it there is no over powering smell. It does not remind me of anything girly like sweet and nothing artificial. I think it is quite a neutral feminine smell. It is not a high end brand though it makes me feel classy….chic, elegant, stylish, the confident women I’ve always wanted to be *wink* *wink*. But, really it did do that. 🙂 I had a go at using it in conjunction with the matching shower gel and would say the smell lingered for an hour. On using one without the other it does not make the slightest difference at all.

BBW body lotion

The texture is light but, not watery and absorbed into the skin quickly. I have normal skin that tends to be a little dry practically in winter. Though it does have shea butter I would not rely on it in winter. The body butter maybe your better bet here.

Pros of Bath and Body Works Black Amethyst Body Lotion:

  • The smell out of the bottle is just right not too strong neither not too weak.
  • The smell on the skin becomes subtle and lingers for about an hour.
  • Skin is left moisturised without being greasy.
  • Packaging is small and sturdy, so travel friendly.
  • Has shea butter which is moisturising, would suit normal skin.
  • Enriched with vitamin E and jojoba Oil
  • Cruelty free.

Cons of Bath and Body Works Black Amethyst Body Lotion:

  • The smell does not stick around even when used with its matching shower gel.
  • With everyday use, I can see this small bottle disappearing fast.
  • Has Shea butter but, its not so effective on dry skin.
  • Not easily available in India, imported prices are a killer

Would I repurchase it/ do I recommend Bath and Body Works Black Amethyst Body Lotion?

I’m a Bath and Body Works fan, I want to try it all. 🙂 So on saying that, rather than purchasing for myself I think it would be great as a gift since; the neutral feminine smell can suit a large audience.

  1. Lovely review, Jasmine. However, I think there is a minor mistake in the pros. I think it should be cruelty-free instead of Parabens-free. That’s because the list of ingredients does include Parabens.
