In one of my previous posts I had mentioned that I had gone to Louisiana for Halloween, and there I did a major make up haul. Of the several products that I purchased were the e.l.f. essential flawless eye shadows in three shades and one of them I am about to review.

We all love smokey eye makeup, but not every color blends well with dusky, tanned look. However, experience tells me that black smokey eye makeup never lets one down, one cannot wear it to office but rest all the time it is perfect. At e.l.f. aisle when I came across this eye shadow quad in shade smokey I grabbed it without further ado.

My Take on e.l.f. Essential Flawless Eyeshadow Smoky

What I like about the product is how hassle free the entire packaging is. It might not be that sturdy but totally no nonsense type and serves its purpose well. Each color has its application region engraved on it and if one follows it step by step then it is relatively easier to get flawless look in seconds.

But it is easier said than done with the pigmentation and texture of the product because it has so much of fall out. One gentle sweep with brush on the color cake and it starts to crumble and falls everywhere. Also, takes a lot to build up color intensity on the eye lid. A sweep or two would not be visible on the eye lid but with a primer the job becomes easier and product stays but for a while or else it vanishes into oblivion in no time.

• Dark shades with mild shimmer, ideal for a night out
• Decent staying power
• Perfect for beginners
• Pocket friendly
• Easily available online or in stores
• Definitely worth the money

Cons of e.l.f. Essential Flawless Eyeshadow Smoky

• Unpleasant odor ( all lower end elf products have a nasty smell 🙁 )
• Brush that comes along is very useless ( but usually it’s the same case with all products)
• Lot of fall out
• Low staying power

Would I repurchase this product?
No, but I recommend it to all the beginners or people who love makeup but can’t spend a lot of money.
