I purchased a bunch of “Pure Colors” lipsticks from Lotus Herbals. I realized I don’t have a few shades in my huge “Pure Colors” collection yet and now they have awesome new shades. Suddenly, I have a liking to deep plum and wine shades and I want to combine the two shades to create an “ombre” look. Hence I picked this deep blue-based rum lipstick at a great affordable price.

My Experience with Lotus Herbals Raisin Rum Pure Colors Lipstick:
All my Pure Colors lipsticks have been medium to sheer, but they have not disappointed me in terms of pigmentation. They have a slight, soft gloss finish and they can be built to a deep opaque color. This color is a purple shade with some blue. It has a vampy gothic feel to it if you build it up.
The color is medium in coverage, but in two swipes, it works as an opaque lipstick. It is a creamy lipstick with some glossy sheen to it. It can bleed, so I use a plum liner underneath it. The color does not really make my lips look pouty even when I layer it on. The color is amazing for mature women. If you love only maroons, you can venture into this color family as well. For evening makeup with a black gown, this will do justice too.
The color lasts on the lips fairly well, nothing outstanding about it. If you have used “Pure Colors” range earlier, you would know that they have good color payoff and you can build and deepen the lipstick shades. There is no additional mattifying or other qualities that I can write about.
