Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Color in Pink Me Up Review

Today, I am reviewing the shade “Pink Me Up” from Maybelline Color Sensational lipsticks. This is not a new shade and has been around for a while. Read on to find out if I liked it or not.

My Experience with Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Color in Pink Me Up:

Packaging: This lipstick comes in the standard “Colorsensational” lipstick packaging – a sleek metallic tube with a rectangular cap. This shade has a bright pink-red cap. The sticker at the bottom of the tube is color coded to help identify the lipstick if you have multiple of these lipsticks. The packaging is sturdy and looks classy.

Shade: Pink Me Up is a very soft muted mauvish pink. It looks oh-so-delicate on the lips and is a shade totally suited for office wear. It might wash out slightly dusky skin tones, but will look absolutely beautiful on fair skin tones.

Texture, Finish, Pigmentation:  The texture of the lipstick is just about okay – it is not too soft and buttery; neither is it hard and tugging at lips. It does not feel drying on the lips over time. Though a lip balm is not needed, I would suggest using one to give a more even finish. The finish of the lipstick is semi-matte with a lovely sheen.

One swipe is enough to cover the lips and give a barely-there effect, but I love applying two swipes.

The staying power of the lipstick is average – it stays put for around 3-4 hours. It transfers to cups and glasses and does not survive a full meal. Since this is a light shade, it does not leave behind any stain.

Pros of Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Color in Pink Me Up:

• Beautiful light mauve-y pink shade.
• Doesn’t feel drying on the lips.
• Classy packaging.
• Very affordable.

Cons of Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Color in Pink Me Up:

• Average staying power.
• This shade might wash out some.

If you think this shade will not wash you out, you can surely purchase this lipstick.  I would not repurchase but would be open to try other shades from this range.
