Hi, after being a follower of this site for quite some time, I decided to come up with my own posts as well. I frankly I learnt a lot from this site and this is my first post .I would do a review of my favourite eye shadow quad. I hope you guys like it. Please feel free to make comments or requests if you like. I would be too glad to try to answer them or come up with newer posts.

Now, I have a weakness for green eye make -up. For lips I am crazy about red lip color. Although green eye make-up does not go with red lips as I personally feel. However, who says that they should team? We can always find occasions to wear them separately. Anyway, coming back to the green quad, I use this eye –shadow quad from Maybelline which is called Emerald Isle No. 26. It’s a smoky palette which comes of very pretty. Moreover, with the direction at the back, it is very easy to handle as well.

I’m not a very good photographer and I tried my best in the weird daylight we had to day . Each of the shades in the palette  have on it carved from bottom left clockwise-brow-bone, lid,crease,corner that is with the direction where to use which shade for that complete smoky look. But u can use it in any combination and there is also an instruction on the back for different look s which I told u above.. Here it goes

Now , the swatches. I have  used it on me and  also on one of my friend’s hand to show how it comes off on darker and fairer skin tones . here are the swatches

Brow-bone color: It is a chalky white color and although I found it quite repulsive at first encounter, later realized it actually works great for the brow bone

Lid color: This  one is an antique gold color with light greenish tinge to it. Its not very pigmented but it’s a beautiful one.

Crease color: this one is a greenest of all and is pretty pigmented and works well.

Crease: This one is my favourite of the quad. It’s a deep smoky antique gold with a greenish tinge. On first look it appeared to be  a deeper shade of the lid one. But this one is a lot darker than that one.

Now the pros and the cons

Pros of Maybelline Eye Quad Emerald Isle

1) Comes cheap for what you pay .

2) Versatile . Can be used in so many ways.

3)The instruction at the back is quite useful as I find it to be.

4) the colors can be used alone as well for a simple wash of colors

Cons of Maybelline Eye Quad Emerald Isle

1)     The shades are not heavily pigmented and are in fact a bit powdery.

2)     Because of that powderiness, it comes off well with and applicator. But if you are trying to put it on with a brush like vega’s eye shadow brushes, all the colors fall off making it difficult to show up on the skin and leaves u only with a pale wash of colors. But it did not happen so with the applicators.

3)     Otherwise I don’t find too many cons

Shall I repurchase? Yes of course! Who doesn’t want  a pocket friendly make-up from a reputable brand?
