Today I will be reviewing one of my most desired products and it is an eye shadow trio from NYX. I have heard lot of good things about them but whenever I tried buying them, I never found a color that I would like to buy and finally last month during the online sale, I found this. The color I brought is called Hippie Chic. This was not my first choice, but as my first choice was sold out, I bought this.

Price: Rs. 650

Packaging: Like NYX’s 10 eye shadow palette and 5 shadow palette, these too come in a rectangular black packaging with 3 round pans inside. The packaging has a small window on the top through which the colors can be seen. It also has a dual tip sponge applicator that is very useful for highlighting the inner corners of the eyes.

Ingredients:

Magnesium Stearate, Talc, Mica, Paraffinum Liquidum, Octyl Palmitate, Butylate Hydroxy Anisole, Porpyl Paraben, Methyl Paraben.

My take on NYX Trio Eye Shadow Hippie-Chic

Color: This trio comes with 3 entirely different colors. The first one is a highlighter color which is free of shimmer but has a pearly finish. The second color is a green with minute sized silver shimmer particles. These particles are not obvious and can be seen only after proper blending of the color. The third color is a beautiful lavender which again is a pearly finish shadow. These 3 colors are different from each other, but they look beautiful together. I personally use the lightest shade as the highlighter, lavender as the lid color and green to the outer corner and crease to give my eyes some depth.

Pigmentation: Pigmentation wise all the three colors are average, they do look good on swatching once, but after proper blending they lose their color. Out of the three, the highlighter color is the most pigmented one. These colors are easy to blend and do not look bad even if used multiple times, so basically the colors are buildable and the intensity of the colors can be increased according to the requirement.

Texture: All the three colors are extremely smooth to apply and blend. They mix perfectly with each other. I have already used this palette 4-5 times and have never experienced even a little fallout from any of the colors.

Staying Power: when I used them, I wasn’t very happy with the pigmentation and thus wasn’t sure about how long will the colors stay. But to my surprise, when I saw myself after 5 hours, the eye makeup was exactly as I did it and that too without a primer. The staying power of the colors is amazing. The colors do not crease at all, which is again a huge plus point for me.

Cons of NYX Trio Eye Shadow Hippie-Chic

• I wish that the colors were a little more pigmented
• A little pricey in India, although for the quality & quantity, the price is fine, but if compared to USA the price is almost double.
• Contains Parabens
