Sally Hansen Fast Dry Nail Color Pen in Blue Review

by Nikki on April 21, 2011 · 34 comments

I am not much of a nail polish user, I went through a crazy phase of multi-colored nail polishes and what not during college, so right now I either just have French manicure or nothing on my nails. But when I saw the new type of nail pen from Sally Hansen in the US, and in my favorite color of Blue, I didn’t hesitate to buy it. It’s in a pen form that you click from behind to get the color out.

The shade is a very lovely shiny darkish blue.
Quantity: 5 ml
Price: $7

As stated on Sally Hansen website:

Product Details

Manicure in minutes! Just click to dispense color, brush on and go! Fast-dry formula and handy application make it easy to use.

Application Tips for Sally Hansen Fast Dry Nail Color Pen

Shake well with cap on. Remove cap. Gently click top of pen 5-7 times to start the flow of color. Apply 1-2 coats. Re-click as needed. Touch up as needed. Protect work surface while using this product.

Benefits of Sally Hansen Fast Dry Nail Color Pen

• Fast dry nail color formula packaged in an easy-to-use, take anywhere spill-proof pen!
• Easy to use anytime, anywhere
• Great for pedicures
• With Panthenol and antioxidant Vitamins A, C & E to condition nails, plus a UV Protector
• No DBP, Toluene or Free Formaldehyde

The product is a nice innovation, it’s in the pen form which allows you to carry it anywhere without the fear of spilling or breaking the glass bottle. It also gives a good grip ergonomically since we are used to the pen form.

The color is a very beautiful blue in my opinion, which is opaque and shiny. It color looks cool on the hands as well as feet.

The tip brush is not that great, it could have been made much better, first few times couldn’t get the hang of using the thick brush, ending up getting a few messy applications. But easier and faster than a regular nail polish, since you don’t have to dip into the bottle each time.

sally+hansen+dry+nail+color+tip+brush Sally Hansen Fast Dry Nail Color Pen in Blue Review

The drying time is probably a minute not that fast but not the slow either.

To sum it up-

Pros of Sally Hansen Fast Dry Nail Color Pen

-Lovely color
-Good quality
-Fast dry within a minute
-Easy to carry
-Easy to control and apply

Cons of Sally Hansen Fast Dry Nail Color Pen

-The brush could be much better, sometimes leaves streaky lines.
-A bit expensive for a nail polish.

Conclusion

Sally Hansen is known for their nail polishes so the quality is pretty good as ever. The product form of the pen is very convenient and handy. A better brush would have made this product almost perfect.

Oh I love these pens! I have 5 colors and each of them are nice. But I noticed on one that after a year or so, the polish kind of starts to separate, going rancid maybe?

But they give you a fantastic manicure in minutes! I usually am in a hurry and use it in the car :) but it turns out good anyway!

Thanks Rati. I have been following IMBB “quietly” for a long time now :) . Had posted a few comments earlier also but somehow they didn’t get published. I think we needed to wait for the Rajeswari/Rajeshwari confusion :)

Hey! But how does someone who doesn’t travel abroad frequently get hold of these magic wands?! Are they available in any store in Bombay or Delhi? Or could you please recommend where to buy them online? Thanks!
