Top 3 Mascaras- IMBB Survey

When Mrunmayee came to stay with us in Delhi to attend Ki’s wedding, we all had some moments of awe at the power of the internet. She had trusted two people over the internet whom she had never met before. Not only that, strangers such as Rima, Rati, Deeptima and Mrunmayee would have never known or met each other if they had not come online. Although I am one of the earliest users of the internet in India (I started using it in 1997, starting with dumb terminals and lynx browser), I am still surprised by the depth of our psyche the internet has gone to. Yesterday itself, my friend was telling about his batchmate who was updating his status on Facebook minute by minute even during his own marriage. I think it would be called a normal behavior in these times. Although I chose to pretend that I am impervious to the enchantments of the net (by refusing to have a facebook and orkut account, or checking emails every 2 min) it is a fact that I myself unwittingly trust many people I have met online at totalgadha or IMBB. People I have never met in real life. And in many ways I relate to them and consider them my friend too.

But for a person who spends more than 14 hours on the internet every day, I spend it mostly being productive. Internet has an inexhaustible wealth of information for someone who is looking for knowledge and it provides great tools for personal and financial growth. And it refines knowledge by bringing them from many people collectively. Wikipedia is one example. Our IMBB survey is another. (right. you were wondring when I was going to come down to the brass tacks).

Why is this survey asking for ‘Top 3′ and not for ‘Top 5′? Because Rati told me that women don’t own many mascaras (I am sure some ladies on IMBB would certainly prove her wrong by producing 10 of them). But I think I would like to refine the survey by asking for Top 3 because if you have 5 or 10 and you have to fill only 3, you’d certainly select the best of them. And as I said earlier, I am always for refining the information provided to users.
