Lotus Herbals Lipstick in 643 Hot Plum Review
Hi girls!
Lately, I’ve been obsessed with wintery lipstick shades, so I picked up this lipstick named ‘Hot Plum’ thinking this would be a nice plum colour to wear na? Wrong! Lets’ get to the review to find out why!

My Experience with Lotus Herbals Lipstick in 643 Hot Plum.
Packaging: Typical Lotus herbals packaging of Dull gold body with a gold bullet. The cap fits well with a click, and I like the clicking sound of it 🙂 I think it’s about time that Lakme and Lotus change their boring packaging, don’t you guys think? There’s nothing bad with the packaging, its just that it’s very boring! Most of the time we pick up products just by getting attracted towards the packaging!
Colour/Pigmentation: This is where I was surprised. What’s the name of the lipstick? Hot Plum. What’s the actual shade? Nude! Like what? Really? Where did the reddish-purple colour go? Disappointment!! Only if the S.A had a tester! And it’s the kind of nude that makes your lips look like a smoker’s lips. Maybe very fair skinned beauties can pull off this look. But meduim to dark skinned people can’t! The pigmentation is buildable. Two swipes cover the whole lips. On first wipe it’s sheer.
Texture: The texture is smooth and creamy and so is the finish. It glides easily. Even with a thick layer of lip balm, you get the same pigmentation, unlike some lipstick that go very sheer with lip balm. The lipstick isn’t drying. But it’s very transferable.
Staying Power: It stays on for 4 hours and starts fading with meals. You have to reapply this shade because out of all the Lotus Herbals lipsticks, this one is light and on the sheer side.
Smell/Taste: It has a typical lipstick smell, which isn’t bothering. It has no taste.

Cons of Lotus Herbals Lipstick in 643 Hot Plum:
- Name of the shade does not do justice to the actual colour of the lipstick.
- Boring packaging.
- This shade is on the sheer side.
- Won’t suit medium to dark skinned beauties.
- Transferable
IMBB Rating:
3.5 / 5
Would I recommend Lotus Herbals Lipstick in 643 Hot Plum?
Pass this one! If the name wouldn’t be so different from the actual shade, it would’ve got a few extra points! This one’s a total skip.

Such a beautiful MLBB color. I love such sheer but buildable shades!
Yes, but makes me look like a chain smoker! :p Hehe
Nice review Priyanka, but such colors don’t suit me at all 🙁
That is a nice nude brown, but why named so!
Exactly my question Neha Di! :p
and it’s not a hot plum shade, not even remotely plum!
Yes 🙁 Door door tak koi samband nahi! :/
Well reviewed, these shades don’t suit me.. If someone is looking for brown shade, they wont reach this because of the wrong name :/
Yes Swathi! I agree!
This could suit me 🙂 But what was Lotus thinking about the name?????
Lotus wasn’t thinking, that’s the problem! 😛
