Bangkok & Pattaya Trip Photos and Haul :)

Sanjeev and I went to Bangkok and Pattaya for Holiday this past week. I am sorry I couldn’t tell on blog because of security issues. We came back last night only. I has major tooth ache when we started from here and I was on medicines on almost the entire trip. but who cares? 😛 I had awesome 5 days in Thailand. Shopped and roamed around. It was great refreshing holiday after a long time. 🙂

Also, I would like to inform all of you that Jomol has officially joined IMBB full time. 🙂 All this week it was she who was uploading your posts. This trip would have not be possible without her. 🙂 Thanks, Jomol. 🙂

Coming to the trip. 😀

We started our trip form Pattaya – 2 1/2 days in Pattya and rest in Bangkok. Sanjeev did parasailing and both of us did sea walking; the 35 minute drive on the speed boat was almost breath-taking. We also saw the Alcazar Cabaret Show- it was beautiful. It’s amazing to see that the Pattya is mainly run by women; in fact a lot of men there turn into lady boys. 😛 We also visited Sanctuary of Truth there. It is all wood carved. It has been in the making for the past 30 years and would take another 20 years to complete. They haven’t used a single nail to build that building. 95 % of population in Thailand is Buddhist so you’d get to see loads of Buddhist temples there.  People there pray to Lord Ganesha and Lord Shiva as well.

Now the shopping. :))

Bangkok Pattaya Haul

I picked this hot pink bag from a shop in Pattaya. It’s a great bag for travelling or even for office. I loved the colour and design of this one.

hot Pink Bag

This black leather box clutch I picked from Charles and Keith in Central World Bangkok. I saw it and instantly fell in love with it. 😀 We also picked up leather wallets from the Gems Gallery in Bangkok. The wallets are made of cow hide. Charles & keith bag and wallets

I picked up a hand cream and a Kiwi & Yogurt Mask from The SKin food. The shop was sooo cute and girly. 🙂 (pics below) skinfood mask and hand cream

Some random stuff form Boots and Watson’s – Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Tummy Butter, Biore Pore Strips ( I picked one first, tried , it was so awesome that I went and picked two more packs the next day 😀 ) , Maybelline Gel Liner (brown), Nivea whitening Roll on deo, Sheet Masks from Etude House and Watson’s, Bikini razors, and got some free Garnier Cream samples. People are obsessed about whitening there. It was quite strange to see whitening products in so many brands there. watson's and boots

I picked up 3 things from Nars- Dolce Vita Blush, Dolce Vita Velvet Matte Lip Pencil, Night CLubbing Eyeshadow ( madly pigmented black with moss green shimmers) Nars matte lipstick, dolce vita blush, night clubbing eyeshadow

swatches

Sanjeev picked up two perfumes for himself from the Airport Duty free – Armani Sport Code and Dolce Gabbana the one.

armani , doce & gabbana perfume

We got this free Armani Pouch with the purchase. 🙂

Botanics shower gel and conditioner.

Both of us bought these coolest slippers ever from pattaya. 😛 Arent’t these cute. 😀

Overall it was a great trip. 🙂 We had loads of fun. We met some Indian families during our trip so it felt very warm and homely. regarding shopping for inexpensive bags and shoes, I would say that although the prices were less, the quality was pretty bad. The ones that were of good quality were not cheap. It could be me as well because once you start carrying good shoes and bags, it’s difficult to pick stuff of that cheap quality. Also, you would never be able to figure out the “right” prices for the cheap or fake products there. I guess you would be able to find pretty good stuff here in India only at the prices that were being quoted there.

Food wasn’t much of an issue there. Since I am a vegetarian, I could find veggie food at most places. But if you are someone who does not eat veg food at places where non veg is also served, I guess it would be an issue for you. However, there are Indian restaurants there where you’d be able to find pure vegetarian food also, you just have to hunt for such places. 🙂

I suggest that you buy some package if you plan to visit Bangkok and Pattaya because it would be difficult to explore places there on your own. The package for two would cost you around Rs 40,000 – Rs 45,000 .

  10. wow Rati.. u look very cute in all the pics :teddy: I agree with Biore nose strips.. they are the best 🙂 n those slippers :stars: also pls review on the palmers tummy butter.. is it for reducing stretch marks?

    1. yeah rekha it is for reducing stretch marks. You know both snjaeev and i tried the biore strips and it worked wonders. they have different strips for men also but since these worked on sanjeev pretty well, we decided not to take a chance and picked more packs of these. 🙂

      1. They have pore scrubs too Rati 🙂 I have used them.. they are a lot more cheaper than the strips and works well too 🙂 try it next time 🙂

  14. Lovely reading about the trip to Thailand and seeing pics! 😀 The Sanctuary of Truth looks amazing. And that’s great shopping! Over here in Manila Skinfood is pretty big. Biore nose strips are the best!

    Congrats to Jomol! :))

    1. Thanks you, Ida. 🙂 I really had no idea about Biore pore strips. I just picked them up randomly, tried them in evening and I knew I had to buy more of these. So awesome. 🙂

I loved how skinfood has done their shop. so cute and girly. 🙂

    2. The beautiful part of the sanctuary couldn’t be captured in the pics Ida- that it is being erected with the ocean beating on its ramparts. All window on one side of the temple show the great expanse of the sea. In the 3rd pic of the slideshow (showing Rati sitting with other people) the window behind Rati shows the wall of the rampart, and behind that it was blue ocean where you see all the glare… the glare didn’t let us capture the scenic beauty 🙁

      1. Sanjeev, I just read this now- sorry, I haven’t been online much. 🙂 Wow, I didn’t know the sanctuary was built right by the ocean. That view sounds breathtaking. :)) I hope to see it for myself one day as well.

    3. Thank you Ida :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks:     :pompom: :pompom: :pompom:

The leather purses are super pretty and they look so durable too

Why did you have to wear helmets at that place ? Do the things keep falling :stars: :stars: :stars:

    1. reteeka, it is a building in making na so something from top it might fall anytime.. :hihi: You just have to be cautious there. 🙂 Pink bag toh I dnt know but charles and keith one would def be durable. :))

    1. supriya , it was quite a complicated historic place. It was in the making. it has been in the making frm past 30 years so there is continuous work going on there so it is the precaution that visitors are asked to take. 🙂

one more thing Rati.. did u booked the trip through some travel agent .. kindly mention teh details…

    1. poonam, thanks. 🙂 yeah we booked the ticket through the travel agent but i suggest that you check with 3-4 travel agents before you book the tickets . also try to bargain. 🙂

  41. Wow..glad you had fun time there. Even I have plans to go there innear future.. Which places would you suggest for shopping Rati.

    1. Kaps, I would sy go to central world plaza in bangkok – you get all big brands there. There is MBK mall – for very cheap stuff. it’s like the bigger version of our Palika bazaar so dont forget to bargain. 😛 I personally did not like it much though. There is Big C in Pattya for really cute stuff- the pink bag and the slippers I picked frm there only. Indira Mall for electronics. A lot of people but LEDs from there. At most places you’d find watsons and boots, dont forget to check those. And Bangkok airport duty free is really good. 🙂

      1. you can even visit gems gallery both in Bangkok and Pattaya. they have genuine stones there and they give you a lifetime guarantee. You’d be able to find other nice stuff like bags, souviners, pearls etc also there and they are very genuine because they are partly run by government ( i think) . Sanjeev and I picked up wallets from there only. Cant explain how good the quality is. A family with whom we wre kinda roaming around, the lady picked up a very pretty black and white pearl set. It was gorgeous and the finish of pearls was beautiful. 🙂

  42. Rati u look so chic in those dresses   and I loved the white skirt, u look so cute in that…lovely haul!! Hope u guys enjoyed the trip to the core!!
