My Experience with Bite Beauty Verbena Amuse Bouche Lipstick:

The lipstick comes in velvet finish grey bullet packaging with tight shut cap; I like the curvaceous cap. The bullet is housed safely inside cardboard packaging and it has significant lemony smell, pretty much to my liking, which usually fades post application. Over all I love this user friendly & travel friendly packaging.

My shade “Verbena” is defined as rose terracotta shade while it comes up soft muted rosy plum on my skin tone. I get that MLBB feel from this shade as it does not scream attention on my lips and kind of blends well with my natural lip color concealing the minor flaws. I feel it has potential to flatter various Indian skin tones including beauties with mild-medium pigmented lips. I mean it provides nearly complete coverage with subtle translucency and glossy finish on lips which makes it ideal for everyone. I need maximum two swipes for full color pay off with no bleeding and/or feathering issue so far.

It does not settle in lip lines even after settling onto semi-matte finish. Moreover the light-weight, creamier yet firmer texture makes it promising for hot summers. In fact it is neither intensely hydrating nor overtly drying for my normal/dry lips hence beauties with dry lips might like the formula especially for summer time. However considering its lip hugging finish which may highlight dry patches within given time period it would be advisable to wear it on well scrubbed moisturized lips. Personally I did not find it as drying & matte as Persimmon or Radish surprisingly. It does provide effortless slip on dry normal lips with full color pay off and glossy creamy finish but it soon settles onto semi-matte finish which may not cling to patches or lip lines but it is not very forgiving formula.

The wear time of lipstick is pretty average as it fades within 5-6 hours regardless of tea/coffee break; using a lip liner might increase longevity of this shade. It does not leave any significant stain and I am always okay with touch ups hence it is fine with me. This is what I would expect from an ideal summer makeup to be honest; partly hydrating, yet firm, non-drying, bit matte & glossy with slightly forgiving formula. I would definitely like to get it again all year round while I recommend this shade to every beauty.
