As you all know I was on a vacation recently. I picked up a few makeup items and I thought I would start reviewing them now. This is the review of a lipcolor I picked up in Paris. It is from Bobbi brown. You guys have no idea how much time I spent in that mall looking for something that would instantly catch my eye. But I was os confused, in the end I decided to go for a safer option which for me means lipcolors. Lets see how I like this one:-
Price:- 25 euros around 1750/-
Product claims:- Bobbi’s original formula treats lips to rich color with a soft-matte finish. Infused with Vitamins E and C as well as Beeswax, it also moisturizes and comforts lips.
I first of all tried blushes in Bobbi brown but none of them really appealed to me. I wanted something which I could use everyday since I don’t go out at all lately ever since college ended. And then of course I cant put on too much of makeup and sit at home. So this lipcolor is something that the SA at Bobbi Brown showed me. She actually had a lighter colour than this one first but I asked her to show me a colour that was a bit more dark. Hence she got this one and it looked liked the perfect nude pink for my complexion. Actually if you ask me the name of this lipstick is perfect for it. They could not have named this colour any better. It is a combination of brown and pink, hence the name Brownie pink.
Even the SA liked this colour on me better than the one she showed me previously. So all in all I bought it and I am happy with my purchase. This is the kind of colour that does not wash you out but still looks nice. I believe any skintone can carry this well as it is not the wash out types.
The packaging is simple yet sturdy. The quantity is a little less than the average 4.2 grams as this is 3.4 grams. After seeing so many expensive brands my respect for Mac has increased since their prices are much lower than all these high end brands. The texture of the lipstick is so much similar to Amplified crème finishes. It is not too creamy nor is it drying. It stays on your lips comfortably and does not dry them out. It does not accentuate any lines and goes opaque in 2 coats.
The colour is totally gorgeous and I really like it. I think if you really like this colour but cant find it in India or afford it, then Chambor’s Dessert rose is much similar. The only difference is the texture of both the colours. This is a semi matte sorts and looks natural on the lips.
The staying power is pretty good. I put on two coast of it and it lasted around 5 hours on me. Also my lips did not feel dry or anything and this did not give me any eczema reactions.
So final word, it is a beautiful colour for all. Can easily be MLBB for many as it is brownish pink. You can see the swatches for yourself. It is an everyday medium brown pink colour. And if you want something versatile, I would recommend this one.
