Today, I am reviewing a lip product which I hardly ever use – a lip liner! Being more of an eye makeup person and blessed with full lips, I never felt the need of lip liner in my makeup, but then IMBB has persuaded me try out many things out of my comfort zone and lip liner is one such thing. Bourjois is my current favourite brand, so I headed towards its counter without second thoughts. While I was inclined towards “Rouge Soyuex,” the SA influenced me to buy this darker shade “Prune Caresse” because according to her, it would compliment my skin tone in winters and could be used as a lipstick over a dab of clear lip balm. So, let’s find out whether it worked out for me or not.
Rs. 295 for 1.14 gm.
Levres Contour is a long lasting, non-drying lip liner. These smooth, creamy liners won’t flake or bleed. Use the liner to outline and define the shape of the lips with this non-drying and smoothing texture. Each shade complements the Bourjois lipstick ranges for long-lasting color.
With Mineral and Antioxidant protective plant pigments.
My Take on Bourjois Levres Contour Lip Liner – Prune Caresse:
It comes in the usual pencil liner packaging with a plastic cap. The body is of the same colour as the liner. I have an inclination towards retractable liners but when pencil ones offer such beautiful shades, sharpening them before every application is not an issue. The color of the pencil seems like maroon brown, but on lips, it comes out different. It’s a true plum shade, absolutely matte! Tugs a little on application, but on slightly moisturized lips, it glides on like a dream! You need at least 3-4 swipes for the actual colour to show up. My mom has found the perfect match for her most used and abused lipstick – MAC Diva. This lip liner is making her lipstick last longer and when blended properly, its beautifying the shade of MAC Diva. I absolutely love this colour on my mum.
Talking about my experience, I use it for staining my lips because it gets too dark for me over lipstick and I look overly mature. I dab some clear gloss and top with 3-4 swipes of this liner and tadaa, I am done for winter evenings!
For the staying power, what should I tell you? It stays on for like forever if I don’t rub it intentionally! I need oil-based remover for cleaning it off.
The lip swatches attached are not really doing justice to the shade because they are 1-1.5 hours post application.

Absolutely! Wines and maroons are staple shades in every Indian women’s stash, this liner is a must! For young girls, it’s a wonderful shade for all-over-lip application in winter evenings.
4.5/5 (it should have been a little less drying and in retractable form).
