Chambor Glitzy Gloss Crystal in Shade #804 Review

First of all, I would like to thank the IMBB team for such a warm welcome.Today, I will be reviewing a lip gloss from Chambor’s glitzy gloss Crystal range. I bought this lip gloss for the wedding season last month but, forget all about it until yesterday, when I was cleaning my vanity. Read on to know how it turned out to be.

Shelf life: 3 years from the date of manufacturing.

My experience with Chambor Glitzy Gloss Crystal in Shade #804;

To begin with, I wished Chambor glosses had shade names instead of shade numbers. It is so much easier to remember names rather than numbers (he he I know that’s lame).
Packaging: The packaging of the lip gloss is quite classy with a black cap and transparent body which allows one to easily locate the shade that one is looking for and to see how much of the product is left inside. It has Chambor written on its body like other glosses from Chambor’s intense range. Also, it is very travel-friendly and will fit any kind of clutch. However, the tube looks so delicate that I am not quite sure what will happen to it if I drop it by mistake. It has shade number written on a sticker on its bottom.

Fragrance: The fragrance of the gloss is citrus-y, quite strong and is nauseating for my sensitive nose.

Texture and pigmentation:

The texture of the gloss is quite creamy and glides on easily. However, it is a bit sticky and transfers a lot. Consistency of the gloss is satisfactory too; it does not bleed or settle into fine lines.Pigmentation of the gloss is commendable and the color builds up in 2 swipes itself but, being on the sheer side this gloss does not cover naturally pigmented lips. To describe the shade, I would say that it looks like a very pretty ripened orange. It is a true orange gloss with tiny golden shimmer particles.

 

The shimmer particles are not at all chunky, do not look OTT but, when the gloss starts to fade away shimmers are somewhat left behind. Not that they look bad or anything, but they are just there. It will be a blessing for those who want to try orange color on their lips but are too scared to sport a full blown orange pout at first. I am scared to imagine how it will look on cooler skin tones as it has yellow undertones with golden shimmer. However, considering that a majority of Indian women possess a warm skin tone this should look well on majority of us who have fair to medium skin tones. Being very sheer, those with fairly pigmented lips can give this a miss or wear it on top of a coral or an orange-hued lipstick. The shade is so subtle that it would be perfect to wear alone on the days when you decide to sport a smokey eye look or heavy eye makeup.

Applicator: The applicator of the gloss is quite nice. It is a regular doe shaped one and picks up just the right amount of gloss. Above, is the picture of its applicator.

Staying power: The gloss stayed on me for quite a good while which is approximately 2-3 hours with light meals in between after which I had to re-apply it. Now you must be thinking that it is not satisfactory but, considering that I have super dry lips and amongst most all the lip glosses that I have tried in the past this one stayed intact for the longest time.

So summing up the pros and cons;

Pros of Chambor Glitzy Gloss Crystal in Shade #804:

• Affordable
• Cruelty free
• A bright warm toned orange color, perfect for people who are new to orange pouts.
• Stays for a longer time as compared with other shimmer glosses in the market in this price range.
• Shimmers are not chunky.
• Travel-friendly

Cons of Chambor Glitzy Gloss Crystal in Shade #804:

• Contains parabens.
• Will not cover pigmented lips.
• Shimmers are left behind when the gloss starts to fade away.
• Nauseating fragrance.
• I wish it had a name instead of a number.
• Dries out lips a bit.

Will I repurchase / do I recommend Chambor Glitzy Gloss Crystal in Shade #804?

Yes I definitely recommend you to pick at least one shade from this range. I may not re-purchase this shade again but, I will definitely be picking up some other shades from this range.
