Homemade Coffee and Honey Hair Serum For Silky Hair

This is my coffee and honey serum, which is used as a conditioner that you smooth through your hair and leave in for 15 minutes before washing out.

Amazing ways to make hair silky smooth

The coffee adds strength to all hair types and for brunettes adds an extra colour boost. The honey will leave it shiny and glossy for at least two days.

This has been tried and tested by myself, I have some before and after pictures above, the first is my hair before – looking lank and not very shiny (I wash my hair every other day). The second is a few hours after I had washed out the mixture. My hair was more managable and didn’t get so tangled and also was VERY shiny and as you can see the colour is vibrant. I had dyed my hair dark brown and it had enhanced the colour – so it even works on those dyed hair types!

Here’s my mixture:

Hair Before

1.4 Teaspoons of coffee, doesn’t matter on quality unless its beans you’re using.

2. 2 Tablespoons of Honey/Syrup. (I prefer honey as it’s more natural, syrup doesn’t give it so much shine)

3. Mix in measuring jug or bowl.

4. Add 4 SERVING spoons of freshly boiled HOT water (honey needs to melt).

5. Then mix together – should come out as a paste.

6. Once mixed apply to wet or dry hair and leave in for 15 – 20 minutes

7.Wash out with shampoo and finish with your normal routine of drying and – voila! Beautiful healthy hair!

If you have especially dry hair or a dry scalp massaging a tablespoon worth of Extra Virgin olive oil into the hair and scalp before shampooing should help any itchiness (my husband was the guinea pig, he has exczema).

I sometimes add the oil into the mixture after the water has gone in and then leave it in for longer.

I hope this helps you when you’re frantically looking for conditioner or serum on a night out!

Good for using first thing in the morning also – the scent of coffee on your hair, whilst not overpowering, it can give you a kickstart to your day!

Go on – treat yourself!
